  1. Any black horses seen running across Peckham Rye ?

Was is it on the site of Monkatsu? Nothing wrong with a sixth form common room atmosphere - reminds me of the deputy head confiscating our cards when we played bridge :)
  3. Certified by congress just now - A republican congressman still challenged Wisconsin but the Senator who backed it had retracted so did not proceed. Dignified at the end - by Pence too.
  4. It's like some Charles I or James II attempt on parliament actually. Trump thinks he's King of America, he needs to go into exile (not to Scotland). A woman has been reported shot.

Oh > wait a second....... LOL.
  6. It's Pence who appears to be in danger because he followed the law not Trump.

OK CNN are outraged ... but I assume so is everybody else.
  8. Trump supporters have stormed the Capitol building Idiots
  9. If you are at risk of hurting yourself or others you are sectioned in this country - lots of anorexic teenagers are every year (Someone related to me was so I saw inside the unit). Whats the difference between that and wanting to spread a virus (and I believe some actually want to spread it due to the herd immunity conversation back in March)
  10. The Current CNN headline is "Trump to speak to supporters in desperate coup attempt"
  11. Spartacus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I actually think it's spreading fast due to how > people behave, no matter what government rule is > put in, by any government, people won't follow it > and the virus goes "that'll do nicely thanks" > That's Government responsibility to persuade and cajole and threaten and the rest. They aren't really doing that.

If the universe hadn't worked out as it did we wouldn't be here to discuss it (or we'd be something completely different ) :)
  13. Looks like the Senate is going to the Democrats - still in the balance but one Georgia seat has been called (by NBC and CNN) and the other is waiting on more Democrat areas to come in with a small Democratic lead. Winning both seats gives Biden the Senate (with the VP vote) and thus a majority in both houses.
  14. I gave up on Christmas Trees a few years back - there are other decorations and I was fed up with dumping of trees on 5th January. Also no children (I know children love trees) When I was young we had an artificial one in the attic all year - sounds ancient (and filthy) now.
  15. Who's in charge though. I notice Nigel Farage said perhaps putting Tiny Blair in charge maybe a good ides - Farage has the right idea that we need someone who is responsible for the whole thing, a big name maybe who will get this rollout done.
  16. Boris's new catchphrase seems to be "Alas"
  17. Didn't it become Adventure Bar after that
  18. A news conference tonight with Boris, Vallance and Whitty - I don't think there's anything new just updates similar to last Spring. Boris trip to India cancelled.
  19. Twitters bad for rumours (and fights) - but we should expect someone like Peston to be telling the truth. The Independent has named his source but there's an additional paragraph :) "John Bell, regius professor of medicine at University of Oxford, who sits on the government?s vaccine taskforce, said on Sunday there was a ?big question mark? as to whether the vaccines currently being rolled out would work on the South African variant." "However, Professor Bell also said it was "unlikely? the mutation would make vaccines entirely ineffective, and it should be possible to tweak existing vaccines in around four to six weeks. ?Everybody should stay calm ? it?s going to be fine,?" https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/covid-variant-south-africa-matt-hancock-b1781903.html
  20. Back to this thread for some really bad thoughts from Peston - hope he's wrong

India has a huge production plan. I'm not sure where ours are sourced from. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-55520658
  23. Jeremy Hunt has just said all schools should close and we should go into basically a (tight) lockdown It seems to be a matter of days to me.
  24. My Aygo is 14 years old and still passes the tests :) I'll keep it for now even though I hardly use it - but every year I'm closer to some kind of rental/pick up scheme. Maybe I should try it out whilst the car is still here. I'll never sell it except to "we but any car" types (and that's scrap)
  25. Hancock certainly puts the hours in and keeps going - can't argue with that.
