I have a friend visiting from overseas who is 25 weeks pregnant and would very much like to buy a decent pair of black maternity leggings in the next day or so. Any recommendations of brands/local shops who would stock? Happy to travel into town if there's somewhere people would particularly recommend.

Lease give some good basic advice for free on their site - in particular the attached (which is written for leaseholders wanting to enfranchise rather than freeholders wanting to sell, but the same principles apply). http://www.lease-advice.org/publications/documents/document.asp?item=15

To the OP - the house with the massive cacti in the front garden on Dunstan's Road (Forest Hill Road end). They build a sort of greenhouse around them in winter and it's a bit of a personal sign of spring when it all comes down and the cacti are released into the open...

Aha - knew I'd seen a thread about this some time in the past. Was directed to this news item yesterday by my better half - looks like postcode and certain map data is now available. A really good development IMHO. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/jun/04/coins-treasury-public-sector-data

The error message suggests you're using a unicode character somewhere in the form - a symbol or an international letter such as ? or ? or a non-standard typeface. Or the web server you're submitting the form to isn't configured properly. If you have any special symbols in the form, try taking them out and resubmiting the form. If there are no special characters, maybe try using a different browser if you can. I've used the web filing service at Companies House and filed Adobe Acrobat forms with no problems in the past, but using a Windows based OS

What is East Dulwich Missing - Food Wise

Yes, there is one in Camberwell and it's always rammed... -
Thai Pavillion, Melbourne Grove to become?...

The old licence details can be found here - I think it provides for alcohol to be served with food, so a bar couldn't operate on that type of licence and would have to apply for it to be changed. http://app.southwark.gov.uk/licensing/LicPremisesGrantedDetails.asp?systemkey=8416 -

Overloaded with election-related literature?
Siduhe replied to Nero's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Does anyone know when the results of the local elections are likely to be announced? I know they don't start counting the votes until later today, but not sure if that means the results won't be announced until Monday or whether it's a same day thing. -
Callie, which browser are you using? I had a similar problem last year and found I could view the forum in IE and Opera, but not in Firefox for some reason. Clearing out the cache in Firefox and disabling some extensions sorted the problem out - could that be your issue maybe?

Loz, I see yours and raise you, "IS NICK CLEGG IMPREGNATING YOUR PETS?"...

Not a particular fan of the Wire or the actor, but I thought Luther was aces. Ruth Wilson (playing the red-headed physicist) was very good (she's also in the current Prisoner mini-series on ITV - took me ages to work out where I'd seen her [and her eyebrows] recently).

Did the person you spoke to confirm he was employed directly by the Lib Dems, or is that an assumption based on the contents of the literature? I would have guessed the LDs had contracted with a third party for delivery services who was then employing the people you met - that's the way these things are often done for commercial handout deliveries.

I wouldn't take it personally as Rosie says - more a reflection of a series of (pretty obvious IMHO) posters who have joined up recently to post provocative/politically motivated stuff. I would guess most people are getting pretty bored of it (I know I am) hence the less than enthusiastic response to even serious discussions... Have you seen this? http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,459106 And this? http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,445983,page=2 The voter power website gives the impression that Dulwich/Norwood is a pretty safe seat for the incumbent, but others (inc the Observer) reckon not.

KD, obviously no-one on this site knows all the details of what has happened, but it's obviously something you feel strongly about. Have you thought about referring it to the Local Government Ombudsman? They are independent, have the power to get access to documents and council employees that you don't, it's free to you (unlike the High Court) and any decision is made public. If not, may I ask why?

General Election Debates - Labour Party
Siduhe replied to The Chair's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh I agree, it was a good investment by the Qataris, in the same way as Lloyds and RBS look to be good longer term investments by the UK. However, Barclays still needed ?6.6bn at the height of the crisis - it chose to get this through a deal with the Quataris rather than take on the restrictions which were part of the UK government offered package. I read TJMP's post as referring to the need for the bailout rather than saying it was the UK which had done this. -

Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > However, rather strangely, it does sound to me as > though she believes Barclays were bailed out by > the government. Well they effectively were - just not the UK government. Qatar Holdings is a sovereign wealth fund, i.e. the investment arm of the government of Qatar. -
Did you see this page? Seems pretty comprehensive on why it's better to surrender (no medical enquiries and if you later decide to reapply, you can drive whilst re-applying for a new licence, if you meet the medical standards). If your licence is revoked, you would have to wait until a new application to drive was approved. There are also a few how to pages at the bottom. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/driverlicensing/medicalrulesfordrivers/dg_4022414

What about a laptop rather than a desktop? Dell Adamo maybe? If you prefer Windows, 7 looks like a big step up from Vista and worth holding out for.

There is a freehold house on East Dulwich Road which sold in Jan 2010 for ?715,000 where the new owner has applied for planning permission to convert the property into multiple flats. All of that information is available online from independent sources (e.g. Southwark planning pages, Zoopla, Land Registry). Planning permission for the conversion was only granted on 1 April based on the docs on Southwark's website, so the new owner couldn't have taken much action with the property before that. Is it definitely the same property the squatters are in? I don't know that for a fact, but certain things they have said match up with the description of the property above, in particular the ref to steel shutters and that it was sold in Jan 2010.

Pretty sure the EDT is showing the debates - there was a poster up last time I was in.
