  1. Get city mapper app on your phone, tells you when the next bus will be along. Can't make the bus come any faster unfortunately, but at least you'll know what kind of wait you are looking at!
  2. I think the new place sounds great. And think everyone who is being negative about a new venture opening should vent their opinions elsewhere - it's rather rude to the new business. This happened with the dog shop too! We are lucky to live in such a vibrant area. Good luck burro e salvia! :)
  3. Or, in the tune of the spice girls' wannabe: "Easy D doesn't come for free, she's a real lady"!
  4. some bits of ED are in red section which is majority homeowners - its seems to be split! Very interesting page though.
  5. Do all the other businesses along Lordship Lane pay this LLW? If not, why all the focus on just the cinema?
  6. Excited for all tese new places opening up! I wonder what peckham market will be like? I love having a potter around northcross road so much on the weekends that I'm not sure it will tempt me away!
  7. Slow time of year for house buying too... few people wish to be moving at Christmas / winter
  8. Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IISb2EVRAJk
  9. Seeing this thread pop back up is the first time I've thought about plane noise in months...
  10. Can the RSPCA assist - maybe the cat is micro chipped? We lost one of our cats to a road accident last week. It is very upsetting. Luckily he was micro chipped or we may never have even found out.
  11. I'm excited about the new Japanese place! Now I live up te library end I don't venture to Brixton as much and I love Fujiyama there!!
  12. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/no-government-handout-needed-for-3bn-bakerloo-line-extension-insists-city-hall-9766444.html There is a strong economic case to use an extension to spur regeneration in the kent road area- which it is why its even more important to take part in the consultation. I agree with James Barbour - there's no point extend all the way to Bromley. If there is extra money it should be used to build two branch lines.
  13. The good thing about a public consultation is that we can all contribute our differing opinions to the debate! :)

Trains from St Pancras are only 2ph - few extra at rush hour. Camberwell has nothing - I got the bus from Elephant to Camberwell last night and it took 25 minutes! Would take about 2 minutes on the tube.
  15. Southwark will come and collect bulky items from you if you go online and book a collection. You have to wait a few days but I've done this a few times and it was really easy.
  16. Fill it in!! And share with everyone you know!
  17. Offers in excess of ?830k for a two bed terrace anyone?! http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-48314207.html
  18. I wish there was a 'like' button on this forum. Some of these posts are amusing me alot!
  19. Good luck lillyrose on your new shop! I think it will make a great addition to north cross road xxx
  20. I concur with those recommending Wuli Wuli in Camberwell... The coriander beef, twice cooked pork belly and smashed cucumbers are all amazing there. I've never tried 'saliva chicken' - i know it's meant to mean juicy chicken but the name just puts me off! :)
  21. Thameslink with be rammed next week! Trains to the City/St Pancras leave Peckham Rye at 8.16, 8.36 and 8.41. Think there is an extra one at Denmark Hill around 8.20 which doesn't stop at Peckham which might be less busy. If the trains are a nightmare on Tuesday I'm going to get the bus in the rest of the week!
  22. I heard it too and saw a white flash - pretty sure a gun wouldn't make a white flash visible above garden fences?
  23. Interesting - so take it the library over the road is moving there? We don't really need another supermarket... But it will be a handy spot for anyone getting of the train.
  24. What is the old garden centre being redeveloped into? Anyone know? I agree its a shame we have no garden centre... Someone should open a new one!
