  1. Jogging sounds pointless to me anyway. Don't get it. If you wanna do some cardio get scrubbing that oven or have a good spring clean as my mother used to say. Louisa.
  2. According to the Sunday Sport, the "stricken jet has been found on the moon after being abducted by aliens". So that's another mystery solved. Louisa.
  3. Who needs 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' with the EDF. Louisa.
  4. This has to be the most exciting post I've seen for ages. Thanks for sharing. I will be in touch. Louisa.
  5. PokerTime, some would suggest regardless of the outcome of planning decisions, Rye Lane has had some detrimental decisions made from local government which has contributed to its demise. Talk of the channel tunnel rail link, a tram hub, none of which happened but just by the mention of them they managed to force business diversity away from the area leaving us with a one dimensional high street. Louisa.
  6. PokerTime. What relevance does the wheelie bin have to this thread? When you say people I presume you're talking about me as an example. Others are the same, maybe if people like me were not treated so negatively by others when we choose to make a thread we would not respond so negatively to others. On this thread alone I've been accused of all sorts for talking the truth about the awful condition of most of Rye Lane, anyone who thinks it's a cultural hug is living in cloud cuckoo land, sorry. Louisa.
  7. Another great example of EDF diplomacy. Louisa.
  8. What culture and buzz? A bunch of smelly shops with the front ripped out? The royal ballet will be culturally bricking it I think not. Some of you people on here speak such tosh. Louisa.
  9. In London these days 'relatively cheap' means recently gentrified or about to be gentrified, which accounts for probably 2/3 of inner London boroughs. To get real value for money anywhere close to the rest of the country you need to be looking at boroughs like Bexley, Barking & Dagenham, Croydon. Louisa.
  10. DirtyBox, unless I am mistaken, the OP claimed all the other spaces had been taken and they resorted to taking one of the 'parent & child' spaces. As I stated, rules are rules, probably not a good idea to do this, but if the rest of what they claim is true then I personally see no reason why someone who is spending money in a supermarket cannot take their chances and just do it anyway, because, it is private property, not a public road, and any action they take regarding illegal parking is not enforceable by law. The manager let them get away with it, storm in a teacup mountain out of a molehill etc. Louisa.
  11. Cheap shot DirtyBox. Anyhow, what's morality got to do with it? A large supermarket chain has a private car park to attract more customers to spend money in its store, don't see how me pointing out a fact to the OP about the legality of a private car parking fine is in any sense immoral. It bares no resemblance at all to my situation. Totally unrelated. Louisa.
  12. LD yes there is a back story relating to a thread I created about a reserved parking space wit a wheelie bin. This Seabag person started making ludicrous statements and then copying and re-pasting edited versions of my previous comments. I decided to remove myself from the thread altogether as a result. This person has since, as RPC points out, been continuing with these rather dubious troll like posts, including the one above on this thread. Louisa.
  13. Quids I'm saying nothing. Louisa.
  14. Well put Loz. Louisa.
  15. JB - no offence. But save the patronising and totally unrelated political rant for somewhere else. Cringe worthy. Louisa.
  16. Sorry to interrupt on this thread but Seabag If you're going to take the moral high ground on spelling and grammar you may want to at least attempt it yourself. Your nauseating attempts at 'normalising' your contributions to this forum are becoming tedious. Just saying :-) Louisa.
  17. OP I wouldn't worry too much. As others have pointed out private car parks that enforce tickets are hilarious. They won't chase you, just bin it. I get why you'd be a bit angry as a regular customer, but rules are rules I suppose, just park there, go along with it and collect your fine, then forget about it. I too can understand and appreciate disabled parking, but really I do not understand the need to have dedicated 'parent & child' parking. Just because someone decides to reproduce it suddenly entitles them to priority parking facilities. Louisa.
  18. Absolutely northlondoner, apparently it's ok for some users to make overt racial stereotypes on this forum for a 'joke' and not be pulled up on them- and yet when I raise something comparably insignificant like reserving a parking space with a wheelie bin or class I'm hammered into the ground. Very much double standards. Some of the forum morality police might want to get their priorities in order. Louisa.
  19. I put my money on Toxteth in Liverpool quids. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Derelictoxteth.JPG Louisa.
  20. "I was born and raised in East Dulwich, so a true East Dulwicher at heart." Does this even mean anything? Someone brought up in this area would always claim to come from Dulwich. Growing up in Peckham as a kid we were always envious of anyone south of Goose Green. Louisa.
  21. The article represents all that is smug about middle England. It's a great area to live in because it's near Dulwich Village which has private schools, it's great because posh people opened up shops to suit their needs etc etc ... NEXT.... Louisa.

  23. Jeremy, don't expect common sense to prevail, this is the EDF after all. Louisa.
  24. TheCat - I absolutely appreciate that SOME people take advantage of a grey area such as this. Yes there will always a selfish person out there who thinks it's acceptable to reserve spaces overnight for their convenience. That's absolutely wrong. But in terms of your point about common decency being a two way street, sadly some people in this world are ultimately ignorant and fail to put themselves in someone else's shoes. The elderly woman who's lost her husband and been forced to move a bin into a space outside her home for example. I know a note would help - and in future I will do that and it may have a different effect. I just cannot understand how anyone could have the sheer audacity to remove a bin. It just dumbfounds me. SJ - this is absolutely serious I have no reason to take a rise out of people who make it their online currency to be confrontational with me because I have opposing opinions to them. It's a lame get out clause. I am the innocent party here do not forget, I was the one inconvenienced by half an hour in the end. And even if I wasn't- it's just the lack of morality. So many people in ED slip into immorality on a daily basis and frighteningly do not even see when they are doing it! Bizarre. tfwsoll - no cars in London? So basically, we say, let's not own a car. What about visiting people from the continent with cars are they banned from using them here as a result? If no one owns a car in a city the size of London the knock on effect to the economy would be catastrophic. Think of all the unsold vehicles? Think of the strain it would put on an already crowded public transport network? I think on this one I'm onto a winner. No car ownership in London would lead to the demise of a great city. Louisa.
  25. Interesting article El Pibe. Loved the bit about mead. On a recent visit to Penzance in Cornwall I went into an authentic meadery, part of a small local chain of them. They literally had deep fried locally caught fish of various types or glazed whole chunks of barbecued chicken all served with chips and salad - and the key part a jug of mead. I came out absolutely off my face. http://www.meaderyrestaurants.co.uk/category/locations/branwells_mill/ Worth a look if you like your authentic beers and real ales too. Louisa.
