People who hog the cheese counter at the supermarket after purchasing what they want. Move out my effing way now! Louisa.

Unfortunately rah someone is posting with a similar ID to myself, and it is confusing some people on the forum. I am still confined to the lounge. Louisa.

According to the Peckham Peculiar the restaurant chain is planning on opening a branch at 149 Rye Lane (Mega Furniture store). There is a planning application with change of use from retail to A3 restaurant use. Exciting news for the expansion in night life options locally? Or a further symptom of progressing gentrification? What does everyone think? I'm personally happy about this. I don't mind if it's las Iguanas or Turtle Bay both decent restaurants that do a nice selection of cocktails more importantly. http://peckhampeculiar.tumblr.com Louisa.

People who say I can't believe how quickly time goes as you get older. Actually, it goes as the same rate as when you were a kid, except as an adult you have a whole series of worries on top to which make you wish your life away on a daily basis. Same amount of time, it's not changed. You have. Now stop talking about it. Louisa.

Luoisa are you related to Louis Walsh? Louisa.

You'll get a small fresh free range Turkey in Lidl from the 18 until the 24th. They've got a one week window to buy fresh turkeys which will last up until the big day. My advice, pop in before the weekend. Louisa.

The obvious parallels between Karen Carpenter and Cheryl Fernadez-Vasini will obviously be noticed at this particular time, but I feel people are jumping the gun on this. Dodgy camera angles can make anyone seem sick or well in one way or another. It is unfair to label her simply because of media reports and social media trolling. To me she seems a healthy weight, and happy in herself. More to this story than meets the eye perhaps, but why not just give her some space rather than constantly talk about her weight, it surely isn't going to help her in any way? Louisa.

I can't wait for the second reboot in five years of the 'A nightmare on elm street' series. Louisa.

Excuse me Bob, but you had better start your own petition. I've been part and parcel of this forum since 2007 and I am integral part of its long term survival (as admin knows only too well despite their current stance). Now I kindly request you to bugger off and start your own thread. And whilst at it take that dead game off the sofa, I can't stand a messy lounge. Louisa.

Quids I do not deny that mainstream science has proven certain things, which could potentially contribute to so called 'climate change', but I believe the extent to which they contribute is vastly overestimated and has become almost an industry in itself. Mainstream science seems to have some sort of agenda, and this agenda is fuelling fear on the issue forcing governments to agree radical alternatives to ensure temperatures do not rise. I am of the opinion, temperatures will rise and fall over time and any influence from humanity is so significantly small it contributes nothing to the overall scheme of things. We had a mini ice age a few hundred years ago, no one then ran around claiming the world was going to end. Louisa.

BNG I categorically believe on the evidence! or lack of, I've seen surrounding 'climate change' that to date, nothing can prove nor disprove the hypothesis. But I would of course welcome science to come at me and say otherwise. Totally open to ideas. From what I have read and understand on the topic, I am to date swayed by the idea of natural climatic fluctuations with little or barely noticeable difference made by humanity. I find it grating when institutional mainstream science on the whole backs the 'climate change hypothesis', that then other individuals jump on the bandwagon making out that every single little bit of extreme weather is a result of this, and tbh nothing has shown me personally that beyond doubt climatic changes outside the realm of natural fluctuation is actually happening! Louisa.

Absolutely, and let's also not forget we currently experiencing one of the strongest El Ni?o phenomenon on record. It usually means warm wet and windy followed by ice cold and dry. I wonder if those climate change fanatics will be jumping around making claims about a new ice age come a very cold spring? Louisa.

It's great news ed_pete. I love beauty products so bring it on I say. Would make a nice change from poncey pretentious produce shops and overrated restaurants. Would you not agree? If gentrification is going to happen, at least have some useable shops like this rather than yet another pizza restaurant. Louisa.

LM they've had interest in the area for years but never come across the right location (probably due to size). But this shop is being extended at the back with an increase in sales area. Everyone I speak with brings up Space NK (shop workers/owners etc), and yet I cannot get any confirmation on this. It's frustrating! Louisa.
-
Shame I can't post this in the main section but anyway. I've now spoken to a few people about the outcome of the half of the old ED Deli (next to K&W) and it seems most people are in agreement that Space NK will be taking this retail space on. Can anyone confirm this for sure? I've contacted their customer service people and nothing has been mentioned to me (but I guess it wouldn't yet would it?). A few of the retailer I know reasonably well along that stretch have all mentioned Space NK too. Does anyone on the forum have further information? I quite like this shop they sell some great stuff. Louisa.

Climate change bandwagon jumpers using the recent Cumbrian floods and warm December weather to make 'off the cuff' remarks about how it is "proof" we need to do something. If you're going to make the scientific argument for climate change please do so, but stop scaremongering with the use of one off weather events to justify your narrow opinion on an issue with potentially very serious implications. Louisa.

NewWave it is a great place to go for spiritual help and guidance. As you rightly say, believing in it or not these churches offer wonderful friendship and guidance and are totally selfless in their approach. There were once quite a few of these spiritualist churches locally but to my knowledge just a handful remain. The one on Well Hall Road in Eltham offers services mid week and Sunday, alongside healing certain variable days during the week. https://sites.google.com/site/elthamspiritualistchurch/ Louisa.

My sentiment too mancity68. But who cares as long as some hungry hipsters get to pose outside a burger joint in trendy Peckham for the afternoon taking selfies and showing off on social media. Louisa.
-
AM I say 'second home' in a descriptive sense, not literal. It's a spiritualist church! Louisa.
-
HMB yeah I call it my second home as it's probably the place I spend most of my time away from ED. ive obviously never slept there. Louisa.
-
I've been delving into it at the my second home for many years now, and after dabbling in some pretty scary stuff I can confirm that I have witnessed and experienced unexplained phenomena hence my scepticism of sceptics. What exactly did you research foxy? Did you manage to substantiate any evidence and reach any personal conclusions from what you learnt during the research? I find it gives me inner peace to go down to well hall road every so often and seek spiritual guidance from the wonderful people who attend. They're so friendly and often willing to help with any problems you may be experiencing with negative forces in the home. Glad your iPod is working now. Louisa.
-
Foxy have you had any spiritual activity in your house before? I've come across this a few times over the years and the nice people at spiritualist church in Eltham can confirm this. Often times, when spirit is near (especially on anniversary dates significant) they can interfere with electrical/battery operated equipment. Shortly after a family member died a few years ago unexplained things were happening with my television in the siting room. It was switching channels, losing stored channel data and even had unexplained sounds coming from it once it had been turned off. Just thought, it may of course not be anything like that at all but it's worth investigating. Louisa.

Also fox, game meat has been shown to be considerably higher in saturated fats than other meat sources, leading to heart problems and high blood pressure. I've always found it a pretentious meat option regardless of healthy implications. Louisa.

I'm sick to death of all this snobbery. Peasant should be able to celebrate Christmas without fear of your brother wanting to eat them Bob. What the hell is going on? Louisa.
