  1. What is it with all these Americanism's creeping in by the back door? A traditional Celtic festival of the dead re-interpreted by the yanks and churned back at us in a money spinning annual guise (which oddly seems to start earlier and earlier each year!). Can we all stop falling for this rubbish, forcing people to fall for the five card trick with sleek and persuasive advertising each year. Bored of Halloween and grandparents day and all the other made up crap some marketing mogul has dreamed up in an office somewhere. Louisa.
  2. With the greatest deal of respect, you're talking out your back end on this one Blah Blah. What an emotive load of clap trap. Blame everyone for horrible stuff that happened more than a few generations ago which no-one around now can change etc. Louisa.
  3. This is exactly why I travel by car and not public transport. You just don't know what nutters you're sharing the space with. Louisa.
  4. If you go onto Peckham Peculiar's blog you'll see a few articles about the restoration project. Think there's a recent pic too numbers. The time is now correct after 35 years. Not sure what else the restoration project involves, but would be lovely to see the old J&H guilded sign below the clock again. Louisa.
  5. What a lovely surprise to finally see the old Jones & Higgins department store clock fully restored and working again after all these years. Recommend going down at night and seeing it fully lit up. Can't believe this iconic shop has been gone from Peckham for so long now, feels just like yesterday since I was in there on a Saturday morning with my mother. Brings back many happy memories. Anyone know what future plans there are for the building? Louisa.

    Talk talk

Can anyone please tell me if AOL customers are also affected by this TalkTalk breach of security? I've had issues accessing my bank account this afternoon too. Louisa.
  7. Norwich is a beautiful ancient city. I used to go to Lowestoft as a kid for holidays. Some of the negative language here is very London centric. Horrible stereotypes about inbreds and ugly people are the very reasons why Londoners are so unpopular when we go elsewhere in the country. Not that I'm saying any of you are actual Londoners, more than likely posh out of town wannabes who moved here from somewhere like Stafford or Winchester. Meh. Louisa.

    So....

Why, why, why, is it that in the last few years or so whether it be on news reports, TV and Radio interviews and in day to day life, large numbers of people (younger mostly) are beginning sentences or answering questions with "so". I find it infuriating. I often scream at the TV when I see someone beginning a sentence this way. Stop doing it! Louisa.
  9. Why work in Vienna though maxxi? I obviously am not aware of all the circumstances, forgive me here, maybe it's a great opportunity. But in my personal experience I can assure you it's worth considering somewhere a little closer to home. The grass always appears greener in the field next door until you jump the fence and discover it's full of ragwort. Alex K you've obviously never been to Norwich. Louisa.
  10. May I intervene and suggest there are plenty of lovely places on your doorstep to visit here in the UK, (many on a par with Vienna along the East Coast) rather than traipsing half way across the European continent spending cash in someone else's country. Louisa.
  11. The clique strikes again! Louisa.
  12. Gutted I missed this one. But to be fair, a storm in a teacup (as ever). Louisa.

    Troll School

I can confirm I do NOT have multiple log-ins. I've also not said the b@&w-in phrase in a long time. So why am I still restricted? It's a class based witch hunt. Louisa.
  14. I personally don't care if washed up little old me gets hidden by everyone. I happily talk to myself most of the time anyway now I'm caged in the lounge (uh-hum Admin), prevented from interacting with my buddies in general issues so yeah, couldn't give a toss either way. Block me BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCKKKKKKK me!!!!!!!!! Louisa.
  15. http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/waitrose-shopping-contained-intimidatingly-working-class-spider-2014102091874 This must be an ED based family. Louisa.
  16. I plan on using that feature reinstatement to its fullest. I have four people (all general issues merchants) who I'll be hiding with relish. Bring it on. Louisa.
  17. Foxy they're obsessed. I feel like a bit of a sideshow these days, they seem to enjoy taking a ticket and joining the queue for a bit of fox hunting. Louisa.
  18. *Bob* I've not wielded a dildo or any other adult toy on this forum or anywhere else in a long long time. So I reject your comment wholeheartedly. I miss El Pibe and SJ a lot. Back in the day we had our spats but we always agreed to disagree and shook virtual hands. How the forum has changed, just a handful of colourful old guard characters remain. Louisa.
  19. OK there's a joke, and then there is crossing the line. I can take a joke just as much as the rest of them, but inferring that you adorn a face mask of a fellow forumite and use it during bedroom shenanigans is a bit over the top. Can we please reign it in a little? Louisa.
  20. Missed you too Seabag. Like a caged lion that's not been fed in a while, I do hope you enjoyed chomping on that feast of a post I just fed you! I think the Goading stick needs its battery recharging my love! And red devil could you not pick a better actress? I like to see myself as a slightly more matured Jodie Foster of sorts, and I picture foxy as more of a Donald Sutherland (Hunger Games incarnation) kind of chap. Nice try though. Louisa.
  21. DF it seems the minute you or I burst back into life, the forum starts to react. It's like a chemical reaction. I gave posting a break too as I felt A few folk were over indulging in goading, the greedy swines (yes that includes you *Bob*). So now they've had a bit of a crash diet, no doubt these couple of posts will give you something to feed on. I'm still banned from the main section, I think this forum reaps what it sows. Ban informative members and end up up with no forum at all. As you were. Louisa.
  22. Do hipsters drink lambrini, in a sort of post-apocalyptic limited resource ironic kind of way? I mean if that's the case then tonight baby I'm a hipster. The cherry lambo is out to play because everything else has been drunk and I'm finding myself talking to myself on here for the rest of the night because it's a school day tomorrow and everyone's gone to bed to dream of croissants and waitrose or whatever the good folk of ED dream about. Anyway, if I were a hipster, I think I'd quite like to visit one of the many pop-up burger restaurants/caravans or whatever coming into the area. Who needs GBK my good friends of ED when you can rough it with a cavier infused prime steak burger served on a rusty wheel trim in the back of a Peckham car park I ask you? I'm mentally there already. Chow down time on a beautifully presented in a working class ironic sense, at a price not to be sniffed at. What shall we say, 35 smackers for a cavier burger? Louisa.
  23. Characters make a forum Seabag. You love it! Louisa.
  24. How the village has missed out on a little Waitrose I will never understand. Further supports the theory that Waitrose are just not interested in the Dulwich wider area, at all. Wouldn't surprise me if Peckham got one first! Louisa.
  25. Wine (red) when it's cold or when I fancy cheese and biscuits (or whenever). Wine (white) when it's hot or when I fancy a daytime session in the garden (or whenever). Wine (ros?) when it's really hot or when I don't have either of the above left in the cupboard/fridge. Water (from a tap) when I need to sober up. Louisa.
