ED Picturehouse. Elitist*. (Louisa's lounged response)

I also think it's a little bit rich of *Bob* to take the moral high ground over the likes of me and my 'trolling' when he's been doing something very similar since day one! Pot-kettle-black! Louisa. -

OK. Firstly, your observation about people who have been banned is plainly wrong *Bob*. If you go back to the thread in the main section which caused my restriction, even you with your witty retort will struggle to defend it. The likes of you *Bob*, who jump in to many a thread with sarcasm and banter could by some be considered a troll! but for whatever reason admin overlooks those contributions. The same could be said of a number of folk on here who have said far far worse than anything I have ever said. I am I opinionated yes, but if certain people don't like my style that's just simply not a good enough reason to ban me. I'm sure many on here don't particularly like your style, or anyone else you choose to mention, do they get their account restricted? Absolutely not. I think it a bigger thing than just me. I think it is aimed at anyone who has family or heritage in ED or lived in the area long enough to remember the old days. JOHNNYBOY put up a great thread in the main section the other day - it was thrown carelessly by admin into the lounge. I politely requested information from admin via PM the other day, it's been read and I've received no response. Foxy is constantly undermined by various people on here when all he is doing is being and informative. Even edhistory was rudely interrupted the other day for politely asking why thread had been lounged. If people can't see any of this and how it gets certain peoples back's up, then you're either ignorant to the fact or just enjoying winding up some old timers for the hell of it. Louisa. -

It appears to have an opinion on this forum, you need to have tasted a burger, visited a cinema or been to franco manca. It is becoming more and more like some sort of dictatorship. Apparently, a cinema isn't just a cinema these days. A cinema is somewhere you have to go to "experience". What a load of old tosh. You go to watch a friggin film FFS. My argument is watertight (as ever), and yet people ridicule and attack me simply because "she's going over old ground again". It's pathetic. I hope you're holding you're head in shame *Bob*, I've finished off two bottles and a bit of co-op's own Pinot Grigio tonight, that's what this conversation has done to me. I'm an emotional wreck. Louisa. -
A fresh out the fridge bottle of cherry lambrini. Louisa.

I guess *Bob* predictably ridiculing, mocking and scoffing for the millionth time is hilarious. Why contribute to a thread with fun facts which are informative and helpful, when you can just rip into people for the sake of it? Louisa. -

Just a little reminder for *Bob*. You might be 2-0 at the end of half time, but believe me, foxy and I have a star striker on the bench who's coming on in the second half and your goalkeeper better have a decent pair of gloves. Louisa. -
Are they still in operation? (wimpy) I had a thing for the breakfast, a perfectly shaped egg and a sort of round curly saveloy! Louisa.

Celebrities are entitled to opinions, but when they use media to try and influence opinion that's when I think it's taking advantage of your position. I totally disagree with it. Especially when it involves them gaining publicity, keeping them in the papers/online. Sure, that's not gonna do them any harm at all. Maybe I'm cynical. Louisa.

I tore up my membership of the Labour Party when Blair went against everything the party stood for to gain power. The greatest leader we never had was John Smith in my opinion, a man of principle and stature. Accepted Labour needed to appeal to the centre but equally never took the party away from it's socialist roots. Everything since him and Kinnock has been 'champagne socialism' in my book. It goes against everything the party has historically stood for. I don't want to shut down debate, I want the Labour movement to stand up for the working classes, and I believe they no longer do that. Maybe the leadership debate will come up with some surprises. I doubt it. Louisa.

*Bob* I believe you and I have patronised this forum for almost the exact same time as registered members. I am happy to provide my opinions about all sorts of things, if only people would ask I could tell them about many things. I'm always happy to help. Louisa. -
Yes foxy I suppose you have a point about today's youngsters. I know it's a cliche but I still feel it was better in my day. Going to the Wimpy bar for a treat. It all seemed so innocent back then. Also, much cheaper too. Louisa.

Just as foxy provides links to sources online pointing people in the right direction to back up his ideas and also help people learn about things (note he doesn't have to do this, it's called being kind and generous?), I feel I provide a service to people by talking the realities of certain situations they may otherwise not be aware of. Like cinema prices for example. Louisa. -

*bob* maybe you need a lay down. Louisa. -
It's not the left who are at fault. It's the Guardian reading champagne socialist brigade who I blame. Sat in a cosy organic cafe in Islington spending a fiver on a coffee whilst moaning about the rest of the country not being intelligent enough to agree with them. These are the crazy nut jobs in my view, NOT the far left of the Labour Party who after all are the very people who created the movement and carried the torch for the working classes. The posh urban socialists are the disingenuous ones. Louisa.

I was always partial to Wimpy, the British take on "Americana", with a plate and knife and fork to boot. Who remembers Starburger on LL? Or a Poppins along Rye Lane? Louisa.

Oh here we go knew it wouldn't be long before the burger thread was given CPR. Let's have a dig at Louisa for just about everything. Louisa.

Jeremy you don't have to be Jonathan Ross to have an opinion about cinemas. For god sakes, this is getting more and more bizarre by the second. Just for the record, I KNOW WHAT A CINEMA IS I HAVE BEEN IN MANY. The last one I went to was in Cromer in fact and again I paid under a fiver for a latest release in a independent pictures! What sort of experience do people wish to have at a cinema? Are you going to watch a film and be entertained or are you going for a gastromic treat to blow your mind whilst being sat in leather seats studded with diamonds. Jeez. Louisa. -

It's that same old tired ED stereotype. Why pay less for something when I can pay double the price. Louisa. -

*Bob* just because I don't use them doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about them does it? It's a great resource for people with kids or who are into film, and these big chains surely can't justify these extraordinary prices, when smaller firms are doing it for less? Louisa. -

P.s given the way things are going in Peckham, it won't be long before they sell it on to a big chain like Cineworld or Odeon. Louisa. -

Jeremy the last time I went in that building it was J Sainbury before it relocated to DKH. It can't be that bad surely? What do you expect from a cinema experience? Foxy that is outrageous. Not that I would personally complain about landing at an airbase with all those young men around me! Very poor standards though. Have you ever flown with Ryanair? I flew with them to Tenerife on a package deal some years ago and wasn't overly impressed, checking the size of my bag and trying to charge me for being over the weight and size limit etc. Louisa. -

Jeremy and your point is? Are you suggesting there is some hidden cost such as quality of service, seating etc etc that is compromised by cheaper tickets? Looking at my example independent smaller chains, they seem to have everything in order and keep prices low to attract large audiences. Nothing is compromised at all. Louisa.
