  1. Heather Watson level pegging with Serena. And a game up. Will it last? Louisa.
  2. Tim Henman has jumped on the ex- British sports personality bandwagon and been hosting his annual slot on the BBC now since retirement. I wonder when Eddie 'the eagle' Edwards will be joining Ski Sunday to offer his opinions? Louisa.
  3. Otta here's the order of play for today- Centre Court (13:00 start) Grigor Dimitrov (Bul) v Richard Gasquet (Fra), Novak Djokovic (Ser) v Bernard Tomic (Aus), Serena Williams (USA) v Heather Watson (Gbr) I would guess from that lineup it's going to be late afternoon/early evening. Louisa.
  4. Talking of Wimbledon I hope everyone will be watching Heather Watson playing Serena Williams today. This young lady has a great serve. Love a good upset at Wimbledon. Louisa.
  5. I'm with AqM on this one. Marigolds, bleach, soapy hot water. Tip bin on its side and attack it with a scrubber. The only time I would suggest calling in some sort of cleaning service is if you're elderly and/or ill and not in a position to do it yourself (or CBA). Anyone else that doesn't do it has more money than sense! Louisa.
  6. Barely above the horizon so a good spot would be Peckham Rye or maybe (?) Dulwich Park. Let's say you're standing on the Rye facing north towards the river. Glance over to your left in the direction of the former Kings on the Rye, and it will be visible (I think, depending on trees). You need to be out in the sticks to get the full view of imagine. Does this happen just once every few years or something? Louisa.
  7. I saw it Sue and wondered what it was? Looked like a giant asteroid heading towards earth! Louisa.
  8. Despite Russell Brand being deeply annoying, I did find his interview with two members of the Westboro Baptist Church highly amusing, as he used humour to rip their ideas apart. Mind you, those people don't need any help in making their argument sink in shallow water. Louisa.
  9. IMO local would refer to the historic connections of the localities. For ED/Forest Hill, that would mean anything from the counties of Surrey or Kent (which these areas straddled before they were eaten up by London). Louisa.
  10. I'm taken by Sussex now. Louisa.
  11. Either way, I wish these people would just leave or stop banging on about leaving. Louisa.
  12. I'm hoping that article is tinged with genuine irony, and a giant tongue in cheek. If not she is possibly one of the most annoying guardianistas to walk the wastelands of Islington looking for a 10 quid coffee. Louisa.
  13. Yes Jeremy they do. But by redefining the greater London boundaries so that areas of the Home Counties come under London Borough control surely makes it far easier to buy up land and make it available for housing en mass. I know this wouldn be hugely controversial, but might be the radical move we as a city need. Cities do expand every so often, maybe it's time London did so that we have room for more housing. Louisa.
  14. London's answers (whether we like it or not) to long term shortages in housing, are in the outer zones 5/6 and beyond. Whole swathes of brown and green field sites within the M25 (and just beyond it) could and should be prioritised for mass affordable housing schemes along side investment in infrastructure so that people can travel to and from the city centre in the fastest times possible for work. The thameslink scheme is part of the long term solution, but more has to be done. I don't see why London cannot expand its outer layers a bit further so that the city has a zone 7/8 maybe even 9/10. Something radical has to be done to spread the availability of housing for everyone. Louisa.
  15. Foxy I'm raising a pi?a colada to you today whilst sat in the garden on my iPad! I even invested in sun screan so I don't go too orange! Happy holidays. Louisa.
  16. Artful, even I wouldn't be that cruel to my pussy. She has free reign of the house, and she's fed regularly, so she doesn't often hunt rodents. Louisa.
  17. Why was there a ginger pussy in the EDT? My pussy rarely sees the light of day, it's far too dangerous on the roads of ED. Louisa.
  18. Here* Louisa.
  19. Thanks njc97, good news. I'll pop down on Friday evening. Louisa.
  20. I better not get involved incase I'm patronised "back into my box, love". Louisa.
  21. What Loz said. Louisa.
  22. Nearly wet my undies reading this one. "Souvlaki Street - North Cross Road Market". Louisa.

If you think beyond Catford central miga it doesn't take much of a stretch of the imagination to see overspill from nearby Forest Hill, Brockley and let's not forget everything that's going on in Lewisham. Fairly well connected with nearby overground and DLR, not to mention mainline trains and buses. Give it 5 years. Louisa.

Can we re-name this thread "Catford: will it or won't it?" Meow. .... I mean Louisa.
