The music always reminds me of wandering around carnaby street thinking you were really part of the whole swinging London thing, then jumping the night bus home to Camberwell Green and realising that most of 60's London was very much removed from the media hyped image of the era. We still had gas lamps and an outside toilet on meeting house lane! Louisa.

Ok so if we are talking about anything paranormal and of the fairytale variety, do you suggest we have no belief systems at all? There is no solid foundation for any religious or belief system in the world today, and yet billions of people still practise these faiths. Bad things happen in the name of organised religion, including abuse, forced marriages, mutilation, terrorism. There are ways of interpreting anything to suit your own ends. The things I am talking about on here are in no way connected. Louisa.

What on earth does genital mutilation and religious endoctrination have to do with folklore surrounding ghosts and hauntings in the local area? What a pathetic way of taking a thread off topic. If you wish to discuss 'witchcraft' or religion or any form of mutilation, how about making a specific thread about those topics rather than doing it on this thread and scaring people off from commenting about the actual topic. Louisa.

Whether you think it's stupid or not why not just let those people have those beliefs? It's causing no harm to anyone. Louisa.

Jeremy a good friend of mine lived on Sternhall Lane during the mid to late 1970's. Her husband owned a fruit and veg stall on Chourmert Road at the time. She had seen in her front garden what she described as a man in a large straw style hat with a white dirty open top shirt and jodhpur type baggy trousers, minus any feet. He was apparently pushing something into the ground and walking very slowly and went along the side of the road into a wall and disappeared. She was terrified, a total non-believer too. A next door neighbour of hers, elderly lady, told us stories about the old farm hand as he become known who would be seen appearing in the same clothes, always busy doing something like what appeared to be fruit picking and hay making. Well a psychic lady I knew many years ago had told me about various images she had picked up around the Heaton Road/Sternhall Lane junction. She always pictured the old folly first, and a man farming. I don't personally know the precise location of the old folly, or indeed where Sternhall lane lead to. But I would assume from these sightings the farm land of the old manor would have been surrounding it in this area. I would love for some present residents of the area to come forward with some stories. Anyone? Louisa.

That's because no one is talking about paranormal activity or ghostly sightings. It was a fun thread for people with an interest in the topic, but it's been hijacked by people who want to discuss the boring science behind it all. Hence why I gave up on it. Back on topic for a second. The spirit of a possible farm hand who worked at Heaton's Folly, a former manor close to Rye Lane and Peckham Rye has now been spotted by at least half a dozen people in and around Sternhall Lane, which is an ancient thoroughfare going back into Peckham's rural past. Are there any people who live on or near this road who've experienced or seen anything out of the ordinary? Louisa.

The target was ideal but you need to aim higher Mallard. 5/10. Louisa.

From my banishment, to gastropubs, the demise and resurrection of the Midland Bank and its various logos. What next? Hang on, I'll sort it for everyone. Hu-Hum........ Yummy mummy, Iceland, prams, gentrification, cheese on toast (pizza), blow-in, working class, ghosts. There we go. As you were. Louisa.

I've been buying Nivea bronzer whilst laying in the sun, the tinted stuff. However, I don't think it's helping much and I've got quite bad sunburn now. I stupidly always forget to use UV protection cream. Any hints for severe sun burn on arms and chest? Louisa.

The twilight zone. Do not adjust your television set. Louisa.

...or if you don't want to get banned, just repeat the above process but just point out every so often that you're a blow in from somewhere posh. Admin won't touch you with a barge-pole. Louisa.

Bless you foxy for thinking of me :) However, I fear my forum days are numbered in the main section. I've accepted the fact that I'm a bit like marmite and I'm probably less disruptive to other agendas if I'm confined to the lounge. Louisa.

There's one in Clapham rah, and ditto what Jeremy said above. If you're a fan of medium- rare burgers you'll be highly impressed. The meat was melt in the mouth. Various options around chip sizes and whether or not they've got jackets on etc and probably the nicest onion rings ive ever tasted. Foxy when you taking me? Lol Louisa.

Just wanted to put a recommendation in for Byron Burger. I went to visit friends in Exeter at the weekend and they decided we should eat here. I was pretty apprehensive considering my view on GBK and the like, but I was surprisingly impressed. Thankfully I wasn't paying, and yes you get what you pay for and the food was delicious, but the best part of 14 quid for burger and chips? Anyway, I won't rant. It was lovely and if anyone wants to take me again I'm up for it (but I won't be paying for it myself). Louisa.

Vik I think Brush Strokes is aired on Dave. Still makes me chuckle too. Louisa.

Could say the same about humanity. At least mice don't go around comiting mass genocide in the name of religion and/or politics. The complacency of human beings never fails to astound me. Louisa.

Ermm root do you mind not rehashing one of my favourite threads to ridicule and demoralise those who believe in it, and indeed those who may well be i. The middle of the grieving process at present. It's crass and achieves sweet FA in the grand scheme of things. Trolling at its worst. Louisa.

Those that can't help shoving a thread off-topic (rather than not participate at all) just for the hell of it. Louisa.

Anyone got a nostalgic craving for a TV series from yesteryear that's now defunct? Let's share. I was browsing YouTube earlier and came across 'Tales of the Unexpected'. The intro and musical accompaniment brought back a bag full of happy memories. Written of course by the fantastic Roald Dahl. Anyone have any other memories? I also suggest: Ballykissangel Brushstrokes Howard's Way Louisa.

Yes rah, I once lived in Egham, Surrey for a short time. Wasn't my bag. Louisa.
