  1. The trouble with ED Foxy is this, most of the 'posh' type places, are actually a little bit 'wannabe'. It's never been 'cool', it's definitely not a Chelsea Or Putney, lacks the up market credibility, it's not even on a par with the village. Stick to the ED caf! Big portions, low prices. Louisa.
  2. Not a truer word spoken Foxy! I've been lounged so I'm partially bound and gagged. But whilst you still have your freedoms make your voice heard in general issues! Louisa.
  3. I didn't realise that AqM, I think that's cruel. Louisa.
  4. Tbh this bottle of blue nun is making it seem a lot better. Louisa.

  7. George from Rainbow stands more chance. Louisa.
  8. Oh dear Admin, looks like i'm not the only reason threads become lounged on this forum. Seen anyone else you fancy banning from general issues as a result? Louisa.
  9. UDI were great but I was under the impression the show was called "Britain's got talent", not "the rest of the world and his dog has got talent". Also loved dog acts. Louisa.
  10. KK that would be fantastic if you could share that. I love social history. Loz absolutely correct. I think Bermondsey Council's independent nature was rooted in trying to retain the social fabric of the area after a lot of the slum clearances just within touching distance in places like Walworth, the Elephant and Peckham. They also managed to prevent whole streets being made waste for tower blocks and large developments. There has been elements of racism in the area of Bermondsey I don't think anyone can deny that, but equally it's always been one of those places that has a mistrust of anyone, even people from a mile down the road. Those links with the docks and market trading are of course slowly fading into the past and the area has become gradually more diverse over recent years, but as I say still a strong community sense and for its proximity to the city, pretty much untouched by gentrification for the most part. Louisa.
  11. Bermondsey has always had a very close knit community feel. Families going back generations with a history in the docks that would have been just up the road. It's one of the last bastions of any sort of cockney heritage within the inner boroughs of London. I think its independence, even after merging with southwark council has remained strong through the years. Only very recently has gentrification gradually started to change some of the area. But not all by any means. Great documentary called "we was all one" on YouTube, explains the tribal history of the area concentrating on the markets and docks. Louisa.
  12. You reckon they would risk their dignity by going to OKR branch? Theres a bigger one near the O2 over Charlton way. Louisa.
  13. Jeremy even I know the poncey middle class haven't reached OKR yet. LOL. Louisa.
  14. Proper boozer. I remember the world turned upside down. Some great nights with some good people. It's a bloody pizza shop now? Says it all really. Louisa.

Discuss. But only if you agree they are a good thing. Everyone else stay out of it. And no I've not set up a petition to sign. Louisa.
  20. I think people are missing the point. Some people are considerate and discreet, some are not. When you are sharing a confined space it should be preferable to at least acknowledge those around you before cracking up a bag of hot chicken wings you've bought from Sainbury's. In summer especially I can only imagine the smell that would be lingering around a packed bus. Clearly common courtesy isn't the order of the day anymore, so enforcement by fines is the only way ahead. Louisa.
  21. I think there must be a middle ground here somewhere. No compromise with buses, but certainly with trains I can appreciate having a dedicated buffet carriage where you can happily eat and drink without annoying others. Flying is a seperate issue because it's often long and everyone will be hungry at some stage. Louisa.
  22. No excuse for eating in a confined space, full stop. It's about time signs warning people of harsh on the spot penalty notices were put in place on public transport. Maybe the cameras used could aid community support staff or PCSO's doing random purges on buses or trains. Not only is it antisocial it's risky for people with allergies (things containing peanuts etc). The smell of disgusting fast food being shoved in someone's face is out of line and if I used public transport I would happily pop people out for doing so. Louisa.
  23. I'm so jealous foxy. Hope you have a wonderful time. Are you going alone? Louisa.
  24. I love watching The Little Mermaid from Disney. Louisa.
  25. I got the impression the thread was for anyone who agreed that fox hunting was bad and could talk about it being bad and sign the petition if you wanted. Louisa.
