  1. I have tried a few companies online that print out my digital photos but I'm just not happy with the quality. I'd like to find a company that I could upload albums, choose pictues to print that were a good quality all at a fairly reasonable price. Anyone got any ideas?
  2. The endorphins - it has to be. When I have had a fantastic curry/stir fy/chilli - it is the buzz from the heat I love. It is addictive and you can increase your tolerance. I myself came from a meat and two veg family and didn't try chilli until I was sixteen. I had an Indian friend whose Uncle would wake up and start cooking at 3am in the morning. So many nights sitting in that kitchen whilst he taught me how to make great food.
  3. errr.... Wanted section?
  4. I like to think the good livin' that I had was on the coast of Turkey - where I swam to work every day, they bought be all my meals for the day, my accommodation was ?3 a night including breakfast and I danced the night away OR did midnight parachute jumps of the local mountain to land next to the local bar. Now I think about it - that was great livin'.
  5. Sing... 'Golden brown' by The Stranglers. Every time they mention his name. I can't help it.
  6. My memory of Corfu? Stay away from The Pink Palace and don't go for a drinking nudey run in the dark. Corfu has many steps to fall up. Those bruises stayed for four months.
  7. No I'M Spartacus.
  8. I'm sure Mr CamberwellOz would sympathise. Actually I know he would - over a nice glass of wine bought by me but secretly we all know he paid for it. :)-D
  9. It was like playing with the padron chillis mentioned. One day you would use a small amount and the fire would be good - the next time you used the same portion, you would be on your hands and knees trying to find where your eyes blew out to.
  10. I find my husband is a great drive thru ATM machine.
  11. An invitation to the forum drinks. *Goes all bashful* Quite tempted to get some of this. My Nali sauce from Malawi (that ate away the plastic bottle it was in) had to be thrown away. How hot is it? How much would you use in say... a chili con carne?
  12. I'd love to try it.... I do like the calm before it thwacks you in the head and your eyes begin to water.
  13. How could I forget The Guillemots? *slaps herself hard on the head*
  14. The hottest thing I have ever tasted was a mouse shit chilli (named that because of what it looks like)in Thailand. The lady used half... and I was scared to lick my lips for about an hour. How hot is hot? The Scoville test has become the industry standard for determining just how hot, hot really is when talkin? chilli. The index goes like this: 0-5,000 Mild 5,000-20,000 Medium 20,000-70,000 Hot 70,000-300,000 Extreme A Mexican jalapeno comes in at 3,500-4,500 units. Thailand?s long, slim phrik chii faa (sky pointing chilli) scores 35,000-45 000 units, rising to 60,000-80,000 for its scorching phrik khii nuu (mouse shit chilli). India?s bird?s eye chilli blasts further up the scale to 100,000-125,000, but is no match for Mexico?s Yucatan Peninsula, or scotch bonnet at a blistering 300,000 units. The heavyweight title for the hottest chilli on earth however, goes to the Red Savina Habanero with a volcanic 570,000 Scoville Heat Units.
  15. Ah the sneaky platypus - hidden in my bag. No one will know what it contains. No one.... well maybe just the forum but that is ok. I'm so anonymous... :(
  16. Is is a bird? Is it a plane?
  17. I'm trying not to laugh.... Big waving arms... lots of pointing. I'm glad you are ok and hopefully someone saw the gang and can help you. Still laughing.
  18. I'm in the depths of Willesden Junction. I can either do the following - 1. Drive - this can be between 50mins to 1 1/2 hours 2. Train from Denmark Hill to Elephant and Castle and the allllllll the way up The Bakerloo line and then a 10 minute walk (just like the seventh circle of hell) 3. Ride to Clapham Junction and then overland - 1hr 4. Ride all the way - about 1 15mins - 1 1/2 hours. I choose to ride. That way I can drink more wine and not feel so guilty.
  19. My water is back on >:D
  20. The lady at Thames Water said they were hoping it would be fixed by the afternoon. (Sounded like a bog standard answer... more along the lines of we have no idea when it will be fixed)
  21. Rang Thames Water. Apparently there is a problem in Langford Green. Technicians are there at the moment fixing the problem. Lucky I had a shower early this morning >:D< and filled up the kettle. I don't know if I could live without coffee.
  22. I can't stand people being rude like that. We took in chocolates and wine after I had my baby. I even went back to the MAU with my newborn to thank them for how much time they spent with me and what they helped make. Even though I was a bit disheartened by the whole experience at Kings, I never once acted like that patient myhondarepsol mentioned. I know you are stretched to the limits as the line to have children in this area is growing exponentially. I worked in personal care for over four years and the thing that got to me was watching everyone become emotionless beings. Working their fingers to the bone to tick off all the boxes that they have to but forgetting that the people they were working for were people. I quit my last job after having a fight with the ward nurse because she said because of me there were too many elderly people in the lounge having too much fun and causing a little too much trouble when she brought in people to look at the nursing home. There was one lady there who cried whilst I was chatting to her because she hadn't left her room for over two years. (She was very large and quite hard to move around) Nearly every shift one or more patients would come up to me begging me to show them the way out. Crying on the way home became quite a ritual. That is what makes me upset. I felt like a lot of the people working in the maternity ward at Kings were tired and I had just become a number.
  23. We are all off at the start of August. A big foodie spectacular. Thanks for the off RosieH but I think the forum gave me loads of ideas but if you do rememeber the name of that restaurant, I'd love to hear about it.
  24. Anyone else got no water? Or is it just me up on Denmark Hill?
  25. I went there about six months ago and wasn't that impressed. It is a pity - it could be brilliant. I thought the food was average. (Sorry Alan) The staff were great though.
