Having lived in ED as both a singleton, through to married with kids I can honestly say that Adventure Bar has never had any appeal to me in the slightest. It looked like it had got lost on the way to Croydon.

I think Louisa has a point. People go in all directions from the station and for a lot of people, walking down to the Iceland site, then all the way back on the way home from work, whilst eminently do-able, isn't that convenient. That said, they probably made their decision on what looked available at a certain point in time, and I'm sure an M&S on LL would/will do well.

Sorry to disagree, but you may well find that the freeholder will just reclaim the money from the lessees. We have stayed at this place a few times: http://www.gwelanmor.com/ It's lovely and a great place to stay with young children. There's an indoor pool and it's walking distance (15 mins) from the beach at Portreath. Location wise, it will look a lot further down the line than Padstow/Polzeath etc but it's ten mins drive from the A30 so you can get to most places quite quickly. Padstow is really nice but doesn't really have a beach, and is not easy to get in/out of with a car.

So I grew up in Bromley, and the local Our Price had a fair sized section marked Soul/Funk/Disco - and on Friday nights Greg Edwards had a show on Capital called Best Disco In Town. Did those things exist to me - or was it all a dream??

Disco didn't die in 82/83 It had a little nap maybe and came back a couple of years later as House music!!

Who has told you that you will need a new offer? If it's the agent or the vendor they're not really best placed to tell you that, so you should ask Abbey if that's the case. I don't see why you would need a new offer. A valuation report has been completed by a lender approved surveyor and that is the figure that they are lending against surely, not the price you agree to pay the vendor. Tread carefully either way. Vendors in the current market will feel that they are in position of strength and won't be inclined to reduce the price at a late stage in the sale. All survey reports tend to be quite pessimistic to avoid comeback. Is the current wiring a hazard or just in need of updating? Good luck!

Honey is a seasonal product which is harvested late summer/early autumn, so local small-scale producers may not have any stock left at this time of year. Good luck finding some, and please post to let me know who has any if you find some. Failing that, good quality British honey might be your best bet.

Hilarious comments like Gray's aside... East Dulwich is a completely different vibe to West Dulwich. It's a great area and very family friendly. There are two lovely parks, Dulwich and Peckham Rye, plus a few other smaller ones. The 'High Street' isn't Shoreditch, Islington or Clapham (even), but does still have a nice inner London feel to it with some interesting cafes, pubs, shops etc... Plus if you work in the City, transport from ED is much better that WD. Also consider roads in SE15 north of East Dulwich Road, but south of Peckham Road. It's very similar to East Dulwich. West Dulwich is okay but much less going on and less good transport.

I'd have thought it was pretty clear that they're not committing to this, otherwise they would have said so by now. Could anyone tell me which other businesses operating in the area commit to paying LLW - I'd be happy to give them business where I could.

We have recently bought a Siemens induction hob and are very pleased with it. I don't agree there are no downsides though. You need to replace some/most/all of your pans, and also any ovenware you may wish to use on the hob; the heat only works when the pan is flat down on the hob, so you need to get used to that. The positives outweigh these drawbacks though. It's super easy to clean - it's just a 'glass' plate that needs wiping, it's much safer with children as the induction points don't get that hot, and (ours) switch off when there's no pan on them. It's faster to heat up, and supposed to be cheaper - I haven't measured this.

Fair enough, but the police are really there for criminal matters, and I can't see anything up to the point when he ran away which could be construed as criminal. It's an offence to not share your details after an accident, but to dispute liability or not to agree to pay unspecified damages at the roadside is not. And as other posters have observed, the road user who goes into the back of the other is normally the one held liable.

Why was she calling the police anyway? Had a crime been committed?
