Bellabeck, don't be disheartened, but do have a look around the forum and you'll see plenty of election threads, including one on tactical voting. We're lovely really. Well, some of us are. Cynical, but lovely.

Don't vote - it only encourages them! (sorry Sean, kidding)

Or a TV programme? Or a newspaper? Would you go to a party where only people you didn't like were going to attend? You say you've only just joined. You won't take the word of people who've been here for a while that this isn't some Lib Dem love-in. You don't like it, but you hang around to make it more unpleasant for those that do? What's that thing that lives under the Billy Goats Gruff's bridge again..?

Seriously, am I the only person who has been biting their lip (fingers?) to avoid saying, "this forum is a free resource and if you don't like it, why don't you just fuck right off and join a forum you DO like, you bunch of tedious whingeing cunts."?

I suspect this is all a genius double-bluff guerilla marketing campaign on the part of the Liberal Democrats. If anything, surely this thread is warming people up to the Lib Dems, rather than the opposite...

Understand your comments Sean, but what would you suggest? I'm put in mind of Jarvis's Running the World: "...use your right to protest on the street, yeah use your right but don't imagine that it's heard" - I recall a million people (or more or less) taking to the streets in protest and that didn't seem to do much good.

Hey KD, I thought you were going to put the letter up today? I've just checked back on the site and nothing there. You might find you get more support or helpful suggestions if you tell people what on earth you're talking about, rather than just telling them you've lived here all your life. If I, as someone you've never met, told you that my boss had failed to reply to a number of emails I'd sent, but wouldn't tell you what they were about, yet expected you to boycott the company that I work for as a result, would you do it?

Can't imagine steveo on Youtube. I see no difference between taking a picture of this and taking a picture of oneself engaging in some dullard hobby like snowboarding. If it brings you pleasure steve, then do it.

The first ever size 16 girl to take part in the Miss England

Narnia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Would someone please explain to me what a size 16 > means. 16 what and where? Why do sizes jump by 2? > How can someone be a size zero? > Is this the same girl? Size sero is a complete red herring - it's an American size, equivalent to a size 4 over here. So for someone to talk about size 0 in the same sentence as size 16 being the British national average size isn't comparing like for like - just more media hysteria as zero sounds more extreme than "four". -
Were you at a sinister convention?

Huguenot, do any arguments with traffic cameras stack up? List of dislikes today: people who break parking / speeding / no entry / jumping red light regulations then bitch that the government / council / the man is just out to screw money out of motorists (NB - I know that's not what HAL was saying); cats; the so-called lancashire hotpot from the canteen. All this and it's not yet 1pm. -

Is it just me, or is there something slightly incongruous about all these people loving their cats to pieces and almost to the point of anthropomorphism and posting frankly sinister pictures on here, but then chopping fairly vital bits out of them? Frankly I'm with Frankie Boyle on pets (apart from dogs, who are quite clearly excellent).

Bergamot truffles? I think I've come over a little bit unnecessary.

Not so very lunatic LB - right up until the flat-earth earthquake bit, I reckon you've got a fairly standard rape defence from any British law court. Ridiculous maybe, but lunatic, not so much. As to Quids's point about lefties and awkward silences, I'll come right out and say it (and await the death threats). Purdah is inherently sexist. And yes, Red Devil, I did hear that there was a minor earthquake at the weekend, epicentre Lordship Lane, when you caused a lady-stampede while popping out for a few cans from Boss Man.
