If the resident asked Cllr Barber for a barrier he would jump at the chance to organise a consultation to arrange. Mention CPZ and possible cycle route done and dusted It's a non important road.
-
Is this all to do with the development of the old garden site and possible redevelopment of the unlisted and of no architectural merit railway houses? Laying down a precedent for the planning committee in the future?
-
Could admin put up the full thread, minus of course what they feel is wrong if need be, so we can follow the whole story
-
You have to remember they will ask for a consultation and ask for votes/survey to be sent via email. They will then take the number of replies and then extrapolate the results to a % I.e. 5 replies. 3 in favour is 60% in favour, 40% against. Result CPZ wanted. We had in in our area. When door to door by residents took place no one wanted it. But the replies Southwark had they used to confirm it was wanted. When the letters and petition was produced they backed down. Even the local Cllr at that time did nothing to help. But Southwark used the email results as the consultation result. The same is happening in the Bellenden Road consultation. Be very careful and remember it is those in the loop that will reply whilst most people do not know and have a living to earn not monitor every Southwark hidden but open consultation.

I stood on the corner of Chadwick Road and Bellenden Road just now for 20 minutes, I doubt 12 vehicles came past. Will it go through? Southwark wants it, Community Meeting or not, YES Waste of money and effort. I doubt they will look at the actual numbers only % As regards Cllrs not a word from any of them a complete wast of space.
-
One point to remember with Southwark is they will write to your Mortgage lender for payment should you refuse to accept their costings. You will inform your lender not to pay, they will then either take you to court to get judgement or instruct you to go to the LVA or whatever it is now called for their judgement. A long drawn out process involving cost. They have no costs only you as we fund them through Council Tax. There was a thread on here sometime ago from "errol", an ex Southwark leaseholder officer which showed just how Southwark works, May be worth reading

I would have thought Cllr Barber would have posted this on the forum if one remembers the row that erupted not so long ago. Like the recent consultation with the Bellenden one way system unless you saw the out of the way signs not to many people knew about it. Again was this deliberate and the online survey only for those in the loop. In many Southwark matters being a little more open would be appreciated.

With the current governments intention of allowing Housing > Association tenants the right to buy the social mix changes completely What changes do they turn into different people? Getting silly now

They are not down and out. They have additional shops very close.

You could always ask Trio if they are interested?

A petition calling for it to charge ?reasonable? rents has gained thousands of signatures, as well as backing from celebrities including Channel 4 newsreader Cathy Newman. She tweeted a picture of the Just Williams toy shop, which is closing after 10 years, saying: ?Much-loved local toy shop shut down after astronomical rent rises. Kids gutted. #greedylandlords.? Why would Cathy Newman appear. Is it the trial by media mob calling on favours? Does she live local. Whole thing leaves a lot to be desired.

Will they be mentioning the other shops they have? And will they mention how long the old rent was in place for and new rents in the area. Tugging at the heartstrings too much.

Why have you changed all your comments? This is not what you posted in the first instance.

Pick the phone up then Why bleat on the forum. A real local would have replied in the appropriate manner. P.m.Louise for the proper response

Why? On another thread they have a sister shop on Lordship Lane. Why cannot the Landlord run his business as a profitable concern. If he cannot let the shop he has got it wrong. If it is that important to the "children" people will be more than to pay to compensate for the rent rise. There are more important concerns than this.

No way my man. Local and stayed here. I have no reason to gloat and be bitter. I stayed when Southwark was pissing on the hood. Can you remember when the west way high way was proposed and the Channel tunnel dig was proposed. I doubt it No mortgage lender would entertain you. Property went down the tank. If you had bought a property you were looking at having a property that was unsalable. Bitter about what? I love the area. Local born and bred. -

Still got the hair. You have to agree that those were good times. Cannot believe that the Temple Bar is now a ? shop. Magic times. Fear these times are lost on current residents. They think now is trendy and hip. Dream on Still times move on, good job I bought my 5 bed house in 1974. William Penn must have taught me something. -

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
richard tudor replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
What happens if you are not a cyclist, do not want one outside your house will the Cllr back you up or will he follow his usual route of the cyclist comes first. Will one cyclist "I want" overrule all others? You did not buy your house with a metal container outside why should cyclist decide where they go. James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi Richard tudor, > Short answer yes. > Could be tricky if house divided into flats and > some flat occupants want one and other don't. The only "Riots" if you can call them that, more like street punch ups was when the fair came to Peckham Rye on the last Saturday in the middle 60's there was the punch up between locals and the dumb dumbs, all good clean fun.
