Yes, sounds like live music. Really loud where I am but can't find it. It keeps getting louder too.
-
Can anyone else hear the loud outdoor music coming from court lane direction? Was the same last week, with dj too but can't work out where it's coming from. Not the park as have checked.

I should change mine but can't use real name as there is an imposter using it already on here.

Annoying, I'm away next weekend but will email him to add myself to future meetings. I picked up 3 poos today that weren't my dogs, 2 were friends dogs that I took round while they supervised football matches but one was a random spot in the bushes! I will continue to do it now, as vile as it is, it might just make a difference :)

Runaway white dog loose at Dulwich Plough
chuff replied to Bic Basher's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Weimaraner might have been Clarence from the bishop. He doesn't run off though, just a little bit ahead and then back, then ahead, etc. He's off lead trained and most likely excited if going to the park. Wasn't me btw, just know the dog. -
I'm off to Dulwich park shortly so will look on the notice board. I assumed it would be a printed stack of surveys so my mistake if it is indeed on the board. However, I would expect southwark to inform all residents for such an important issue, I as many I think, only knew of it through this forum.

Mine's only just a year old so even on the lead she will want to roll around with the other dogs tied up. It's best I keep her on the big outside track unless it's quiet. Agree they should be on leads there. Some run across the grass though from main path. A fence where that strip of grass starts would be helpful.

inside the cafe dog free but outside dogs on leads, that's how i've interpreted the document and what the signs say. I don't take my dog that way generally in the school holidays or weekends as she wants to play, a lot! it can annoy people so I only go there when I know it's quiet, mostly in the winter.

Somebody mentioned to me yesterday that this was retrospective and already a done deal, I sincerely hope not. Would like the chance to challenge Southwark on this. I looked for the survey in Dulwich park yesterday but no sign of it, unless they are in the cafe in the dog free zone. Sigh. edited: typo!

Have just looked up current dog restrictions in Southwark and this is what I've found. It shows the areas in each park where dogs are not permitted, permitted on leads and the areas where they can be off lead but where penalties for not picking up poo are in force. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/download/6454/dog_ban_and_dogs_on_leads_byelaws It seems we already have dog free areas so whatever Southwark are planning, it is likely to be much stricter than this. My feeling is a blanket dog ban in parks is what they want.

DaveR It you are referring to me saying this.. We could be heading down the 'no more than 5 school children in any one area' route if we're not careful. Then it wasn't comparing dogs to children, merely commenting that if we exclude one section of the community then surely more exclusions will follow. If Southwark do have an agenda to take back the park spaces for uses other than a public space for all, then where will it stop? I don't like the stupid comment...

A small fence could be put up on the boundary of dog free area, it wouldn't stop larger dogs jumping over but it would clearly mark the boundary of on lead/off lead. Honestly I've never noticed poo on the main parts of the grass but I tend to stick to the outside path when I have my dog. Agree that everyone should pick up their dogs mess.

Water bubbling up from the ground on the North Cross Road
chuff replied to CocoC's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Call Thames water, after the herne hill flood they might actually send someone out in the next few hours... -
The tricky thing is that if dogs aren't allowed off lead anywhere, they don't get socialised when young and are more likely to be aggressive to other dogs. It's possible the pack thing could be a red rag to some dogs, I've not seen that before but I'm sorry your dogs don't get to run and play safely. I've not seen of the leaflets in dulwich park btw, I will look tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that Aquarius moon, I have an overly friendly mini dachshund that will approach any dog to play. With the exception of one dog that was muzzled and definitely didn't like her, it's been a lovely experience socialising and playing with all breeds and sizes of dog. I only ever go to Dulwich park and find that most of the dogs there are very well socialised. Maybe you could walk them on a lead around the pond area at dulwich? If you go through the court lane gate and straight through the middle via the cafe, you shouldn't encounter many dogs off lead as they're supposed to be on lead there. Agree about dogs off lead on the pavement.

What about the muggings that are happening by kids on bikes, speeding past and snatching your phone/bag? I had someone cycle past me while walking on the pavement last year, that pulled my shoulder bag as they went past. Luckily the bag stayed on my shoulder as my puppy was inside making it too heavy to get pulled off. Generally I think it's fine for parents with young kids and where the roads are too dangerous to cycle on but the pedestrian should have right of way and ringing a bell to get them to move out of the way is wrong. Wait until there's a gap.
