will pm you my number too, meeting at 7 at brixton sainsbo's! my info came via promoters but they aren't those that I know well, so just might be rubbish hype. Am going to mail sjm now and see if they know, but they're not handling this gig so not sure if they'll know either! chuff

  4. Thanks for all the tips, hopefully I never have to try them.
  5. pgc happy belated birthday
  6. My mother was one of those Honor Oak girls!
  7. oh yes, thanks for that sean. I meant that particular dog by the way, not every dog, only those that have 'previous' as such. Anyway, I am just interested in how to rescue a dog being attacked. I quite often walk a colleagues dog and it would be a good bit of knowledge to have.
  8. The really annoying thing is, if the dog was muzzled it wouldn't be a danger. There is always the chance too that it could attack a child and why anyone would risk that amazes me.
  9. Does anyone know how to separate dogs when fighting? I wouldn't have a clue where to start, without getting mauled myself.
  10. Happy Birthday Hibbs we should do a joint 40th next year xxxxx
  11. My eldest son, when 5 came home from school one day desperate to tell me something Son. Mummy, a boy in my class said the 's' word today Me. Oh that's not nice, you shouldn't say bad words Son. Yes, he says, I told him that but the boy said I didn't understand what it meant so I should shut up. What does it mean? Me. Thinking the worst it could be is 'shit' says, well tell me what he said and I will try to explain. Son. No, you will tell me off Me. No I won't, don't worry, in this situation I won't. Son. Hmmmm ok..... F*****g he'll Me. Shock, oh that's not an s word, it's an f word! And floundered dreadfully for ages.
  12. Wardy Which school did you go to? I'm guessing you're about the same age as my father and would have known some of the same people. Chuff
  13. Wardy, my grandparents used to tell me of many of the characters you speak about plus a few others including the French onion seller. They lived on zenoria street so I'm sure you encountered many of the same tradesmen. It's really nice to read your descriptions, for me it's like having my grandparents back and listening to their many stories of how things were different. One of my favourites was how my great grandfather managed to get lost in the fog for hours at goose green roundabout, which seems bizarre to me. Anyway, I enjoyed Reading. Thanks.
  14. Thanks all, was supposed to be out and about tonight but still feeling poorly. Staying in and having a take out Japanese, courtesy of forum recommendations. Have a lovely evening all. X

    Crushes

I'm really fickle, I change my crushes on a weekly basis. Male/female who cares, it's all going off in my head. ;)
  16. The claim for the redecoration is for approx 13k but the underpinning cost is around 60k. We are insured with groupama and will probably have to stay with them for the next twenty years unless the house is underpinned. It is actually very common around here, nearly all the houses in the roads nearby to me have either suffered from movement or are experiencing it now. Our insurance company have told us that if the property is underpinned then there is no reason why we should have an increased premium, do you have a loss adjuster you can question about it all? snorky, the tree man advised us that the tree would have to be removed in sections, over a period of 6 months to a year to allow the soil to settle gradually. This made sense to me, so didn't question it. I don't particularly want to take a tree out but it has pulled up the pavement outside and has continued to cause trouble even though it has been pollarded twice. I am reliably informed that another tree can be planted but a slower growing, less damaging variety rather than a cheap ash that southwark prefer. I'm even happy to pay for the bloody tree myself.
  17. tosh and piffle sean, but you have made my day x
  18. I don't know actually, not my own fault, probably nearly 40 nerves. ty xx
  19. happy birthday to me, i feel pukey today
  20. Oh big apologies for spelling mistakes, am using my iPhone and it keeps correcting things!
  21. We have the same issue at the moment, the claim has been ongoing for approximately 4 years. The insurers, surveyors, arbioculturalists (sp?), have all identified a large ash tree veer close to the house, root samples have been taken from soil around the house and also the drains. We are now in the process of taking the council to court as they still do not accept liability. I have been informed that this is nearly always the case with southwark council and that we will have to fight them to remove the tee and to replant a new one. Our premium has already risen to around 1200 per year with a 1000 excess and no end in sight. We have decided to take private action against southwark as well as through the insurers solicitors to try and get our house repaired. I don't know of any other insurance you can take out but would be interested to find out more, if you get any good advice. Good luck Chuff
