Old news and not happening Keef. Discredited by Spuds yesterday. Now the Pool have put in another ?17m bid for Barry they must have got the extra sponds somewhere........ reckon Crouch to Pompey will complete early next week when PFC go back to training. Oooh and we signed Ben Saha on loan too - that should signal the end of Nugent.
  2. Do we even know the ethnicity of the victim / perps in this murder? Both victim and alleged perp in the Lee murder last month were whities I believe!
  3. A friend of mine in the media says there is very much a "If it Bleads, it leads" mentaility at the moment. I do think you have a real point mate. Something I have been thinking about for some time now.
  4. Yes and No James - I do think that you have massive point as it seems like the media are enjoying whipping up social problems at the moment, however, I cannot remember there ever being so many killings locally, and certainly I have never felt as uneasy on the streets round here.
  5. Point taken Klaus (although Swanmore is in Southampton really and as such you are a sworn enemy of all things Pompey! ;) I guess I am out of touch with what goes on in schools having not been to one for 22 years, but I have been talking a lot lately to friends back home and back in my wife's hometown and these knife killings are just not happnening there at the moment. Yes there are murders and crime back home (I actually got arrested on suspcion of murder once but it was a simple case of old bill putting two and two together and making sixty-three) but they are not as commonplace as round here. Thus the risks must be less. I guess I am putting my own thoughts on it, but from what I see, I would not like to be a kid growing up round here. My wife and I don't have money, we cannot afford private schools and things like that. Anyway back to topic, the whole thing makes me really, really sad!!!!
  6. Can people stop mentioning the White Horse please? It's a secret!!!!
  7. "Incidentally, the secondary school i attended in a village just outside Portsmouth has confiscated a number of knives in the last couple of years." Pray tell where Klaus... I too attended a Secondary School in a Village outside just outside Portsmouth!
  8. Ahhh but we'll all be in Canada by then Asset!!! Back to topic from me - picture here of the scene - cannot make out what bit of Bellenden this is.... anyone? http://news.sky.com/sky-news/content/StaticFile/jpg/2008/Jul/Week1/15020480.jpg
  9. SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And for those thinking of moving to Portsmouth > Portsmouth news > Am I missing something? This is a story in Portsmouth's Evening News Website about a woman being killed in........ wait for it....... Bellenden Road in Peckahm! It's in the National News Section. Or am I going ga-ga????? Please explain! :O
  10. Dee Willis is the victim. Name rings a bell but is not a client of mine. RIP :*(
  11. Nothing on any news sites yet. I have clients on Bellenden Road as do some of my colleagues. Hope it's not one of them! :(
  12. No No No - I did not mean to sound like that at all. Drug Misuse is a subject close to my heart both as a worker and an ex user (recreationally). Anyway back to topic. *hugs bignumber5 and promises to buy him / her a pint / soft drink / coffee / cuddly toy*
  13. I think the indication of a smiley would indicate that it was tounge in cheek, although it may have turned out to be a bit more foot in mouth. Oh wait, I am actually a drug and alcohol worker and manage rehab projects in South London so perhaps it's the truth.

AllforNun Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "Portsmouth is a lovely city and there is not that > much crime, but the drugs problem is massive. > > "The police are losing the battle against drugs. > They don't have a grip on the situation." BBC That's no problem - I made a fortune out of it when I lived there! :) Agreed there is a lot of smack in Pompey, but give me an honest smack head over a crack head any day of the week!!!
  15. My wife just phoned to tell me of this awful occurrence last night. We too are thinking of leaving ED and London because we don't want our little boy growing up round here. Is it easy to escape this sort of crime? Yes! It does not often happen in either Portsmouth, where I am from or Lancaster where my wife is from.
  16. For people like that, being them is it's own punishement. Think about it and rejoice that you are normal!! :)
