    wave energy

Solar power using an array of mirror satellites to beam the energy/light back to Earth based stations is another option - energy beams can be diverted depending on demand and since outside the atmosphere, there will be continuous energy so long as the Sun is there. Tricky bit is safety and potential to use for defence purposes/risk of attack! High intensity energy beams wouldn't be much fun for aeroplanes or anything else getting in its path. There are land based versions of this, which apparently work quite well. Beams are essentially focused on steam turbines.
  2. macroban - I think they typically make more than 2% commission. At least they used to. Even at a currently incomprehensible 4% commission, ?900k per week would still seem a 'little' aggressive in the current climate. I doubt they're making that as an entire branch. Good news is that Halifax will be closing branches all over the UK though, so let's hope that horrid little place on LL disappears soon. Good riddance (and yes, I have a personal issue with a certain agent in that place).
  3. Any publicity is good publicity and all that jazz...
  4. To alter human conciousness en masse is an extremely powerful political tool. Even the perception of time in our minds has altered over the past decade with the introduction of the internet and mobile telecommunications.

    Post

My brother sent me a parcel last Tuesday from Dorset. Still nothing an week on. Live in The Gardens area.
  6. Home, with Sky HD and a 42" plasma?
  7. She'd be lucky to make that in a year.
  8. Lisa - my comment about a seperate garage to service the bikes was a serious suggestion, not a critisism. It would make the shop itself less cluttered with customer bikes. Can I suggest you re-read my post :)
  9. I'll take my cake and eat it, but not for ?4! You can get a coffee and a muffin at Starbucks for less than that!!!!
  10. Can I suggest you rent a cheap lock-up/garage for the servicing? You can then take the bikes off-site and concentrate on new stock for the shop. A cheap garage in the local area shouldn't cost you more than ?80pm and the last thing you want to be doing is turning down business. Great that you're busy though - I hope you can channel this into a success. Just a suggestion...
  11. Senior Lettings Valuer!? Oh, that'll be ?2000pw then and a degree in surfing. Lol, I'll stick with my profession in the city, but thanks. Clearly you missed the 'Foxon's Documentary' that aired a couple of years ago to expose the sort of thing that goes on. What a joke! "A good degree in any subject." - lol
  12. Well all the best to the new business. I will give him time to bed-in and take a look in a few weeks time. Beats a kiddies clothes shop anywyay!
  13. There is this place?
  14. You'll find negotiation tough if there is only one agent left though!
  15. Quite simply, check the prices before you order! Clearly enough people are happy to pay (since most of them are probably visiting the gallery for the first time as a special trip), so the place stays in business. Simple economics really...
  16. Is that the place on East Dulwich Road where Raisin used to be? Where the shop name was mocked up with A4 print outs!!?
  17. Some obviously like it cold! Did you take a blanket!?
  18. Don't you think ones employer/customer might also find it 'rude' at the amount of time spent on on-line forums!? Give the chap a break. If you want conversation, I'd suggest some place else...
  19. On the same note then, what is the point in the Olympics? Who cares about man's achievements - should we just not bother? I'm sure we have gained much in terms of technology advancement as a direct result of the NASA scientists (as in deed the Russians - although I think they made do with the zero-gravity compliant pencil!).
  20. I'd be more worried about December 21, 2012 than this!
  21. Toby - Out of interest, why the name 'Adventure'? Does this derive from positive venture?
  22. The law is the same no matter what class you consider yourself Louisa...
  23. Louisa, you do speak a whole load of twaddle, don't you! Turning this into a class debate, honestly...
  24. Cassius - It's a shame the city didn't implement that strategy with credit traders and risk managers!
  25. Two spaces would be even better. Thanks.
