XL Bullydog Crescent Wood Road / Sydenham Woods
Sephiroth replied to wabisabi's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The lengths some people will go to to excuse bad owner/dog behaviour. Ignoring multiple news reports of dogs causing extreme injury/death I don’t care how friendly you think YOUR dog is. Keep them the f@@@ away from other people -
Screaming Children Garden @ Crawthew Grove
Sephiroth replied to Ordinary's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
First time post Badly composed Suspiciously exaggerated claims Conclusion: probable troll/extreme dickhead perhaps multiple neighbours will verify the claims but right now? Nah -
All good to hear. Cheers BNG If I’m honest, those fliers give off very bland corporate energy also. Shouldn’t it be a relaunch party instead of a launch party? hopefully I’m wrong and it’s great

nope - was sold to Green King pubs many years ago

I found Motherland to be insufferable - the very worst of entitled/oohwhatamIike nonsense and everyone who said "it was so relatable" went down in my..... my book That article and what I've seen of Amandaland do nothing to change this
-
Vladi obviously trolling But we see enough people on Question Time saying things like "now that Trump is sorting everything out.." like there aren't going to be major dire consequences for what is happening over there Anyway - that eejit from Brewdog has already launched his UK Doge nonsense (the whole idea is crackpot - it needs crackpot to implement it - you can't have the idea without the crackpot. Just like.. y'know... the other thing. What's it called again? Putin enjoyed that one too. It's on tip of my tongue.. Brexit! Yes that's it) https://www.thenational.scot/news/24932406.james-watt-launches-shadow-doge-watchdog-take-uk-government/

if I'm consistent on any single thing, it will be that I will never welcome leavers - unless they recant 😉 "we should welcome our leavers"

Can’t see stonegate accepting an offer from community group. Would love to be wrong if a young Irish family are going to take it over then good luck to them. You need to be a canny operator (and Con was definitely that) to handle the hoops stonegate throw at you

whooooooosh

first Trump comes back and ruins everything and in a similar fashion....
-
didn't realise Blythe was already a Stonegate pub - they won't have made things easy for him
-
very confident early post from PP there - almost reassuringly familiar with it's heavy class chippery I miss sitting in EDT watching Obama inauguration - how very far so much has fallen Always enjoyed my evenings (and in case of 2002 World Cup very early mornings) in The Castle as well

Still same pub co Mitchell and butler (harvester, all bar one, toby carvery) they also have pubs in Herne hill and Dulwich village usually terrible food
-
I would say 55/35 is significantly different to 48/52 its not totally analogous of course and you’re correct to question some of the other points raised but it was clearly a massive deception and a massive mistake If Trump decides to invade/takeover Greenland there will be massive rupture between Europe and USA and uk will have to pick side

I've been WFH for almost 9 years now - full time, not hybrid Combination of office relocation impacting commute + no others in my team working in London meant it was pointless losing 5-6 hours a day on a commute (It had been 3-4 hours max which was fine) made me take the leap I spend less time on EDF and other distractions since - Mal has highlighted the downsides very well above, but for me it's a net win all the way. I get more work done, My annual reviews are better (so my managers - and there have been several in different parts of the world) all happy with my output It's not for everyone but I'll be raging if I have to give it up

This trend really is quite something by now Watching Starmer, Reeves and go do the same fingers-in-ear "la la la" will be their downfall https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/51484-how-do-britons-feel-about-brexit-five-years-on

Elon Musk's attack on UK government / democracy

strong agree rockets - not just the kids tho - the number of older people who seem to have been radicalised is more noticeable to me -
Elon Musk's attack on UK government / democracy
Sephiroth replied to Earl Aelfheah's topic in The Lounge
I see today that musk is blaming people of colour/ women/equality for the damages caused by wildfires anyone - from jenrick down to lost souls in south east London - who utters anything vaguely defensive of him is nothing but problematic -
you would be wrong - price differentials like this predate current labour government (labour NI increase also doesn't come close to many European countries in terms of cost overhead) what is with people in this country refusing to countenance the damage Brexit continues to do

Let's have a look at olive oil price in Uk Tesco https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/254516076?sc_cmp=ppc*GHS+-+Grocery+-+New*MPX_PMAX_All_OT_All+Products_Online+Budget_1011017**254516076*&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADiyNaszLAry567QKuGGE_WRyOsJB&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvvO7BhC-ARIsAGFyToVxNYLKhpNfGyF3C6x4KzK2FynwQtOmzQEujQNODuoep1zaPbiLz1YaAiLbEALw_wcB Now let's try same bottle in Ireland https://www.tesco.ie/groceries/en-IE/products/254516076?srsltid=AfmBOopMBjIs5dRjf87MVaZo_BzH-uVgRCv7Te2bkz0qZ5LZKW3VNGNW Now it's true that inflation is impacting countries everywhere - but guess what's making things worse in UK

Sovereignty? Monarchy? The British pound? fark all that shite (turns out being a rule taker and adopting a single currency isn’t the barrier some brexiteers feared after all) https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/12/26/51st-state-usa-trump-starmer-eu-special-relationship/
-
Being nice to Trump, constantly and obsequiously, in no way keeps you onside with him honesty far better and there isnt going to be any meaningful trade deal with USA anyway because it conflicts with other interests. bugs the shite out of me listening to people complain about uk being rude about Trump when the things the uk continues to say about Europe and its leaders is unhinged

"Badenoch would get my vote. " KB is clearly more inept than Truss and just as deranged - it really doesn't speak well to your judgement if you think she has what it takes
-
It’s not that you disagree with Labour. I often find myself disagreeing with them too it’s the catastrophising. And the phrases you use you might consider yourself a left leaning centrist. And maybe you were. Very little sign of it now serious question. Election tomorrow. Which party would get your vote ?
-
No it doesn’t - not all of them are even bad or down to a new government and none of them compare to the shitshow inherited, the brexit debts mounting or the pensions lost to truss not even close For a start ”ii) £300 Pensioner heating allowance withdrawn” isn’t even accurate - many pensioners will still receive it Just the bbc is it rockets? Totally believable - maybe you even believe it yourself chinny reckon
