  1. "and my views are at odds with 'British peolple' view as you see them.... This means my views aren't apparently valid and Im labelled 'reprehnsibe' and display 'sickening arrogance' for the crime of moving my family to the land of my birth and my extended family. " let's break this down - you views are at odds with rest of the country where once they overlapped a bit. Your views aren't invalid - but I call you reprehensible because you publicly state the country is not looking good without ever acknowledging your part in why that may be. If the Brits change their mind about brexit they are entitled to do that - you won't, but you won't care because you won't be here. That's nothing to do with you being a non-Brit and if you want to move abroad good luck to you (so do I) - but a big part of the reason the country is in a state is Brexit, the population appear to be realising this but you just won't concede an inch. Your post about leaving the country came across as "so long suckers" -
  2. I'm not British either Cat I'm talking about the British people because it's a survey of British people and it's about Britain (the BR in BREXIT after all) I care not that you are or are not British - and I don't care if you are or are not leaving because of Brexit or other reasons None of this is relevant - none of it What is relevant is that you have been banging on about Brexit for years and you decided to drop a post in public to say a) you were leaving and b) the country wasn't looking good. So you could have had the humility to at least acknowledge your part in it (again nothing to do with your nationality - you could be a Brit leaving for another country)
  3. "By contrast, DR and I clearly have combative online back and forth... But at least he has a few of his own thoughts to share with the group...." Was I being "othered" here? I can't help feel I was. Not that I care But what I do care about is being called "clearly xenophobic" so that had better be retracted in next post
  4. I was xenophobic but (and?) now I'm "othering" I’m not othering you. I’m pointing out that the Brexit that exists in your head is not supported by the people that voted for it. The country has a very negative opinion of it. And because you so often come on here to “other” everyone else who disagrees with you I’m merely pointing out that your fantasy has a negative effect in the real world and maybe you should reflect a little more
  5. “Dog whistle xenophobia” Not a single ounce from me - want to back Up that claim? You are leaving this country having helped nuke trading deals with our nearest partners You are going to a country which has not done that Where is the xenophobic bit?
  6. And as for the bloviated, self-important claims around Brexit that cat makes? The British public don’t agree. His future isn’t the future they want (Then again his future isn’t what he wants either as he is f@@@ing off back to a country that has minimal trade barriers with its nearby geographical neighbours. I know, mad right?)
  7. Just today we have this from the Home Secretary. The Home Secretary! “Suella Braverman: “I’m afraid it’s the Labour Party, it’s the Lib Dems, it’s the Coalition of chaos, it’s the Guardian-reading, Tofu-eating, wokerati - dare I say the anti-growth coalition that we have to thank for the disruption we are seeing on our roads today!”” This person is not working for the country, dealing with 21st issues. She is a columnist for the sun in 2001
  8. “ Because this is a Brexit Gov no matter how you try and paint it otherwise. Johnson rode into Downing Street on the back of Brexit, ” To be more explicit. These ministers are the dregs left after anyone with half a brain (or people who questioned the totality of Brexit) were defenestrated If we were still in eu? We would have a much much more intelligent, capable collection of mps governing us, not this bewildered array of the deranged
  9. "True to form (at least you've been consistent for 6 years)" I'll take my record over last 6 years over yours any time
  10. it's funny how when the budget was announced it was the libertarian Tuftonites who were all cock a hoop and declaring it best budget ever And everyone else sucked their teeth and went "f&&& that!" even tho the budget didn't "contain any libertarian announcements" so it's quite an amazing coincidence (she also promised "more to follow" around time of the budget remember_)
  11. Hark at Jeremy corbyn here “Starts with market overreaction to mini-Budget, largely driven by appalling messaging and communication, then subsequently driving hysterical media reaction, mostly from journalists who know appalling little about 'the market' ...and then it all became vicious circle/sef-fulfilling narrative and it was all too late for “
  12. brexiteer and conspiracy theorists? Perish the thought from @essexpr "I think we could be seeing a serious remain, EU coup, facilitated by very high up friends in the markets, banks, political spectrum & billionaire philanthropists. The installation of Jeremy Hunt makes no sense from anyway you look at it. He was in Brussels last week." Mind you they thought pencils were being used in referendum itself so they could be rubbed away
  13. The authors of that report are (along with Minford) a tiny, tiny self-satisfied group who have been in denial for years Of course, of COURSE cat promotes their shite as the country drives into a brick wall and he leaves the country with his pinky finger at his lips, going “whoopsie. Quite the news you have here” I urge people to read that report. Then read everything else they have written in subject over the years and compare with reality. Complete fantasists. Just like cat
  14. Julian Jessop Snigger You and truss have same problem. Detached from reality listening to the same tiny coterie of libertarian right Screaming at markets they are wrong and remoaners are at fault.
  15. "In any case, I will miss your ever cheery contributions to my life." I have made zero impact on your life - your ongoing defence of Brexit will continue to impact me and my children's life whilst you swan back home, oblivious sickening arrogance
  16. whilst most countries are facing headwinds, do you genuinely, honestly think UK hasn't screwed itself (and others) by erecting trade barriers to it's neighbours? You think the dimwits in charge now would be in charge if we were still in EU You are one not paying attention - but trust me - when these headwinds pass, and uk is stable again? it will at very least be back in single market meanwhile you come over, barge around with the same nonsense opinions as Truss/Minford and all then f&&k off? And you think "so long suckers - it would be just as bad if you were still in "the club" is some kind of killer line? Reprehensible
  17. Haha. Years of defending Brexit “it will be worth it!” And as the fit hits the shan, off he goes Amazing
  18. "But what exactly are they looking for." I think the answer to this is "not them. and not anyone else in their group" Same as the country really. Even if a good idea percolates up from this cast of bandits, the whole country just wants shot of them No way can this stagger on for two years (and if it does because "no mechanism" then we will all be grimly worse off for it)
  19. as long as she tries to deny the new European forum is in any way related to EU business she can be as engaged as she likes What it means in reality will depend on what she has to sell domestically
  20. “Many social left wingers” Not that helpful in this debate to generalise so broadly. Plenty of right wingers are openly supportive of trans rights (and vice versa for all positions)
  21. Catty has wanged on about this in the past as well. Not just any data protection. BWITISH!!! DATA PROTECTION!! So let’s see how this one goes eh? (Spoiler: nowhere meaningful at all) “Big cheer for Culture secretary Michelle Donelan as she announces plans to replace GDPR with a new "British Data Protection" plan focused on commonsense while protecting data privacy. It will be a "British system of data protection," she says. Big cheer from the audience. #CPC22”
  22. is it weird that Dorries is citing C4 privatisation as being wrecked by Truss (which wasn't in 2019 manifesto) whilst arguing that Truss hasn't a mandate for her own manifesto?
  23. Nice to know fame and fortune (or at least appearing in a Guardian article) haven't stopped you remembering your old manor MM ;-)
  24. Well, this mornings interview with Laura K went well don’t you think That will shut all the doubters up. No question
  25. Given that all Truss and KK are talking about is “supply-side” reforms I did enjoy this “find so awful? As an aside, I don't really know what you mean by a 'supply-side' brexit, but given the sophistication of some of your previous economic arguments, I'll do you a favour and won't dig too deep.”
