Fine for enterting no entry zone in Peckham (Lounged)
Mark replied to seanmlow's topic in The Lounge
as I happened to be on the 63 bus today with a camera here's the junction in question... I think they should make the no entry bit more obvious with a white line, like this... -
Hi lolalola Here's a link to a PDF document by Transport for London that shows all the bus routes. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/gettingaround/maps/buses/pdf/eastdulwich-2073.pdf This TFL website shows you the various routes if you enter in you start and destination http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en You'll like it here, just make sure you don't drop litter or drive through no entry roads.

sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I would recommend that she sign's up herself, then she can follow threads/discussions and people can send her messages directly.

A blonde wanted to go ice fishing. She'd seen many books on the subject, and finally, after getting all the necessary "tools" together, she made for the nearest frozen lake. After positioning her comfy stool, she started to make a circular cut in the ice. Suddenly, from the sky, a voice boomed, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE." Startled the blonde moved further down the ice, poured a Thermos of cappuccino and began to cut another. Again from the heavens, the voice bellowed, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE." The blonde, now quite worried, moved down to the opposite end of the ice, set up her stool, and tried again to cut her hole. The voice came once more, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE." She stopped, looked skyward and said, "Is that you Lord?" The voice replied, "No ... this is the Ice-Rink Manager...."

Madonna said "I would make it so that young musicians, aspiring musicians wouldn't have to pay the congestion charge or pay taxes." Perhaps she should stand instead of Boris?

Locale - new Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
Mark replied to Marco's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I agree about the acoustics as well, in the Green there was nothing to soak up the noise on the hard walls, ceilings, tables, floors etc etc it would be great if it wasn't so loud in Locale. -
Locale - new Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
Mark replied to Marco's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Tuesday 29th April according to the press release. I see on the board on the outside of the building that they're doing 50% off on restaurant training days. -
Hi Pearl Welcome to the forum, hopefully you'll find it fun and useful. I set up the forum and I know it's only when people are dishonest and sneaky that it gets the Admin's back up, like the woman mentioned above after being questioned posted two other messages then tried to use them as a defence that she was legitimate which didn't wash with Admin. And of course pub's promoting themselves in the what's on section is allowed, they declare who they are and what they're promoting and is all above board. So yes that's fine to tell people about your sister, think of it like you're telling a group of friends about her and what she does. She's also welcome to promote herself and offer her services for free once on the forum in the wanted/offered section. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask me or the Administrator, or of course ask everyone on the forum. Mark

Why are people stating the obvious that fines are revenue for councils? Of course they are, a fine is money, money is revenue. Also a search of the t'interweb tells me that the money that comes in from parking fines (after costs) can only be spent on: * Providing additional parking facilities * Public transport schemes * Highway improvements * Road maintenance * Schemes supporting the Mayor of London?s transport strategy * Environmental improvements. which seems fair to me. And that Anita story is brilliant, especially the start where she says "Little did she know that the London Transport had their own plans for her that were far from friendly" as if they pick an innocent individual everyday who has a yoga class then forcibly make them miss it by using trauma, terror and Community Police Officers.

Hi, it was set us as a test forum but never actually "turned on" in the background so all you actually see is the front end. One day it maybe turned on if there's enough interest.

Boris Johnson standing for mayor reminds me of the Ali G film where Ali was put forward to stand as a politician. He wasn't expected to win due to the fact that he was incompetent but win did due to the other candidate having had a previous unfortunate incident with a horse which came to light in a live TV debate. I can't see that happening but it's a shame that the Tories didn't put someone sensible up for election.

that message wasn't from me originally, it was by one of the guys opening it. You really would not want to pay to experience my cooking.

this one sums it up (taken from http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,102617,page=1) Hello East Dulwich, East Dulwich needs a good Italian restaurant so that's what we intend to build on the site known as 'The Green'. We've been talking to Robert for 6 months about selling us the site. Me and my two business partners all hail from South London and have been in the restaurant business for 30 years and we think this is a lovely site in a great area. We want to build a vibrant busy restaurant, bar and function space but one very much a local for locals so we welcome your feedback. We'll be getting involved in some local activity too like the Goose Green Fair and the Dulwich Festival. For the foodies out there you'll be relived to know our chefs are Italian and our head chef lives just around the corner. He's a bit difficult and insists on everything being really Italian (no cabonara!) so we make everything fresh so yes, we bake own breads, make our own sauces and pastas and bring our flour, cheese and oils from Italy. We'll have a new bar too, but we'?ll be focused on cocktails and nice wines, not beer. We'll also have a private dining room for dinners and meetings. We change our menu and wine list 4 times a year. One more thing we spend our time working in the restaurant so if you decide to come along please say hi and we'll get you a Bellini! Proofs in the pudding really (in our in case our ragu sauce). Ciao. Mark, Mark and Douglas

the amusement arcade applies to become a wine bar
Mark replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
maybe someone should tell the council they've got it wrong then. Go here http://planningonline.southwarksites.com/planningonline2/ under the title "Application Quick Search" put in 07/AP/2843 and it definately says "Statutory start date: 07/03/2008" ...unless the arcade people have forgotten to put up a public notice? -
Look: specialist specialism cialis was a spam word right at the bottom of the list, I never saw it until yesterday. Doh! Horray!
-
Application Number: 07/AP/2843 Location: 52 LORDSHIP LANE, LONDON, SE22 8HJ Proposal: Change of use from an amusement arcade (sui generis) to use as a wine bar (Class A4). Statutory start date: 07/03/2008 I was under the impression that no new eating and/or drinking establishments were going to be allowed on the strip.

Would love to but I'm out elsewhere, glad they're back up and running.

I see Kauto Star is currently 11/10, what odds did you get Quids? And good luck.

I like the Black Cherry. I'm not really into supporting local businesses just because they are a "local business" because sometimes they're crap and don't deserve support, but this one's not crap and I think it it has a decent local vibe to it that benefits the area. In other words I like to drink there and it'll be a shame to see it go. I haven't studied their books and don't want to but I guess that they've done the maths and seen that they need more business to survive. I hope they do.
