  1. and please could you remind us what she looks like
  2. I did report it to the police yes, mainly because if I didn't report it, and no one else reported small incidents they'd think there was no crime going on and cut back on resources. Anyway I think going to start using a cover all the time on the bike from now on.
  3. A most serious offence has taken place in East Dulwich, someone has stolen my scooter's wing mirrors. They're chrome, slightly rusty and look like this: if you see them or get offered them on the cheap da'an the pub please let me know thanks
  4. I forgot to mention there is a Friends of Goose Green website, on there you can leave your name and email address and stay informed of any relevant information.
  5. let us know how you get on tommy, we're weighing up whether to get the old door refurbished or get a new one so would like to know what you find out. Thanks.
  6. sorry to hear that and I hope your flatmate's ok. Is there a description of the attacker you can let us know about?
  7. So why not have a "relaxed swim session" where everyone can take part rather than make it sexually exclusive? Some men like to swim at a slow, steady pace too you know. ;-)
  8. You might be interested to know that a new group called The Friends of Goose Green has been formed. Their aims are: 1 - To protect, conserve and enhance Goose Green as a place of freedom, recreation, and enjoyment for the long term benefit of all sections of the local community, and to preserve and promote its aesthetic and historical character and context, 2 - To ensure that Goose Green children's playground meets the needs of its users as a place of play and recreation Attached is the FoGG constitution as both a Word document and a PDF file for your perusal which explain more about the group. 9. The "harmless cafe" have broken the rules: The council have to investigate people who have broken the rules. That is right, that is what we expect and want our council to do. Unless of course you want them to turn a blind eye on this particular occasion because you like what the wrongdoer's doing.
  10. fair enough but I didn't know Sue was a local business woman, I was just prying a bit more to see if would give out the percentage.
  11. oh please do tell us the percentage, otherwise your post comes across as oddly promotional about Pickwick Estates, (just by Dulwich library)
  12. so what % did your friend get?
  13. Good luck Mark, Mark and Douglas, I look forward to eating at your place. As they say in Italy "Scusa, dov'? la stanza di bagno?"
  14. So, with 2 points for a 1st choice and 1 point for 2nd, the current scoring is: Herne: 17 CPT: 20 EDT: 6 Castle: 4 Oriwisu Spot: 1 Montpelier: 1 Magdela: 1 (this probably needs checking)
  15. rather than bother Admin to set up a poll system (which can be rigged i.e. lurkers could just all vote for somewhere they have no intention of going) why not just everyone state their first and second choice place and than add it up later. I'll start: 1) The Herne 2) The CPT [edited once]
  16. Are there any publicans out there who would like to have an extra 30 - 40 people in their pub buying drinks on Friday 4th April ? Let us know...
  17. St Lawrence, Canterbury? There's a prison there! Are you sure you want to move into the vicinity of such a place with all them no-gooders around?
  18. There's nothing wrong with a simple survey like that She'llsurvive but it's more of a vote than a survey and that opens it up to more criticism. We're just trying to get a few opinions about the CPZ in general and sorry you have to scroll down to number 15 but if we had it at number one more people would just fill in that question then bugger off. People who feel strongly about will make the effort to fill it in. Anyway please can we move this discussion back onto the merits/pitfalls of a CPZ and not how the survey has been set up, thanks.
  19. How about the Vale?

    a joke

A Texan walks into a pub in Ireland and clears his throat to the crowd of drinkers. He says, "I hear you Irish are a bunch of hard drinkers. I'll give $500 American dollars to anybody in here who can drink 10 pints of Guinness back-to-back." The room is quiet, and no one takes up the Texan's offer. One man even leaves. Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. "Is your bet still good?" asks the Irishman. The Texan says yes and asks the bartender to line up 10 pints of Guinness. Immediately the Irishman tears into all 10 of the pint glasses, drinking them all back-to-back. The other pub patrons cheer as the Texan sits in amazement. The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and says, "If ya don't mind me askin', where did you go for that 30 minutes you were gone?" The Irishman replies, "Oh... I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first."
  21. and get your facts right Alicia, Goose Green's not a park it's a designated open space, there's a difference don't you know. Derrr.
  22. Apologies that it's not decent survey ????, shall endeavour to get the world's finest survey writers that money can buy for the next one.
  23. very true *Bob*, my survey said things like "roof shows signs of damp so I recommend getting checked by an expert", "boiler shows signs of ageing so I recommend getting checked by an expert". I paid for experts to come and check things and everything was fine, surveyors are liable if things they've OK'd go wrong so they write "should get it checked" so that they can't be sued.
  24. The East Dulwich Forum has a set up an unofficial, independent survey i.e. in no way attached to the current Liberal Democrat's survey, to find out what people think about having a controlled parking zone in East Dulwich. Please let us know your thoughts on restricted parking and the results will be made available on here after 2 weeks of running this survey. Take our survey here - closing is date midnight Monday 17th March You can direct people here with the website address www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/cpz. For more information on what a typical CPZ consists of, here is Lambeth Council's explanation about CPZs. We will not share any personal information with any third parties without asking you first. A big thank you to Huguenot for setting this survey up.
  25. we got there at twenty past eleven, and only managed to catch Georgia, Raj and Mockney staggering out. So what was the Uplands like when it had people in it?
