    Hi all

So come on then, tell us, we're all dying of anticip ation
  4. In an article on the Spiked website about people and places campaigning to ban plastic bags it refers to ..."London?s caf?-culture-trendy district, East Dulwich..."
  5. OK, I've put it back
  6. OK, I've turned off the message count just to try something out. Please let me know if: a) that's annoying b) the forum's got a bit faster c) you would mind if it didn't return Every time you look at the number of new messages, the system has to count how many message you haven't read and that slows things down especially when there's lots of people on the site. It still leaves "new" next to messages that you haven't read, and you can still click on "new" to go directly to the first of the newest messages. Let me know.
  7. A poll could be fairly easy to add but it's not something I would like to allow each user to add as it's open to abuse. If you have any polls you want to add please drop me or The Administrator a message and we'll see what we can do.
  8. Comedy upstairs at the EDT for me, maybe next week?
  9. huncamunca, what are you on about? Are you saying everyone in East Dulwich is guilty? If not, just who are you directing your message at? How did you raise an objection to Caffe Nero? Have you read all the posts about Caffe Nero? "The guilty here are not Neros" Who are they?
  10. There's already music shop on Grove Vale (Lordship Lane side of East Dulwich train station) opposite Kwik Fit and the The Vale
  11. Why not just put police there with speed guns every now and then? Word will get out that it's a speed trap area and some will slow down, and the others that Kford mentioned who are not registered will be busted.
  12. So what are the options available to the inspector? Close it down, keep it open or keep it open with conditions? What conditions could be applied in this case? And thank you both for coming on here and telling us.
  13. I just called the Lordship Lane branch and the manager wasn't there and the guy I spoke to didn't know the outcome (but they will be open tomorrow)
  14. If you look up at the ceiling you'll notice a glitterball http://www.malvernhills.gov.uk/home/glitterball.gif Drinking, Doners and Disco perhaps? Get down!
  15. It's going to be a gift shop, Oliver Bonas. Look at this thread (discussion). This thread has been locked, please use the thread mentioned above to discuss this issue - The Administrator
  16. what does "." mean? Ah, I get it. Someone started an new thread asking what the shop next to White Stuff was so you resurrected the other thread with a "." May I recommend that you say something like "look at this" to avoid confusion and to possible stop there being two threads about the same subject. [edited once]
  17. it seems the Met have now found the data having previously "mislaid" it: http://www.met.police.uk/crimefigures/ That's good news that the crime figures have gone down, congratulations to the people who have helped make that happen.

You could try calling the Home Office Direct Communications Unit on 020 7035 484 or look at the Home Office Research & Statistics website, http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/crimeew0607.html, that may help.

  20. Hey Bossman from the organic beers you have, which one do you recommend and how much is it? ps why you called Bossman Bossman? [edited once]
  21. I don't think a TV in the bedroom is a bad thing, is there a correlation between children having a TV in their bedrooms and the quality of their lives?
  22. "...he reminded me of a youthful Ian Hislop from the 'Have I got news 4u'."! But like you say you did see me all the way across the room and you probably still had chlorine in your eyes from your swim. Good to meet people again, I'm with you Keef, I didn't realise some of these people were there, I must walk around a bit more next time. And agree about the staff coming across as rude, and from the start of the evening every order seemed to be met with a sigh and a look that said "do you lot have to keep ordering drinks?". Anyway it was a goodnight, nice one Georgia for arranging it, and I look forward to the next one.
  23. I was thinking the same Huguenot, (well I was actually thinking "I wonder if she has a pasty in the microwave?") but it would be nice to be told. And as it was Polly D's engagement news that sparked off the events that brought about the Lounge area perhaps some more news would start a family area. Eh? The family section is an idea that's been knocking around but there wasn't much feedback from people but I'll ask around again. I was thinking of calling it "Parent and child" but I think "family something" would be good, perhaps The Family Room, a google search in it makes it seem like it's a commonly recognised phrase. So how about... The Family Room Discuss and stay informed about schools, nurseries, NCT and all things parent and child related in East Dulwich. ? What do you think? All feedback appreciated, especially from people with families (and expectant families ;-) )
