  1. Yeah, often known as a Michelada. I tried one in Texas, it tasted like sick. Beer margaritas are good though.
  2. Just to lower the tone... frozen beergarita: Flesh of 1 lime Half a can of lager 2 measures tequila 1 measure Cointreau A glug of sprite Put in blender, then freeze. The alchohol content will prevent it from completely solidifying. Mash it up with a fork, and shake it up with a little water (or more sprite, or beer). Makes two glasses.
  3. I do like thin pizzas, but the Gowlett pizza is SO thin, it's basically just a snack. Very tasty though.

  5. Used to love Omrith, but since being served a strange sickly sweet curry with a glace cherry on top (seriously), have given up on it. Dulwich Tandoori for me. As for Babur... you CAN get the restaurant food delivered, they call it "a la carte at home". But never tried it. http://www.babur.info/content/la-carte-home The bog standard delivery service is a generic Indian takeaway which comes from a totally different premises.
  6. Only one thing to do with left over curry and naan... make a jalfrizza. http://fishfingersarnie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/jalfrizza.html
  7. If someone put a bag of sweets through my door, it would make my day and I'd scoff them all within seconds. My sweet tooth would overwhelmingly override any suspicion. My wife probably wouldn't be so trusting, and would no doubt be furious with me for eating randomly acquired sweets. Would probably have to keep schtum.

  9. Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Tbh I'd rather set up a genuine organic horse meat > burger stall. Horse tastes alright IMO. http://fishfingersarnie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/horse-burgers.html As for M Manze - nobody in their right mind would eat jellied eels, but I do love pie and mash. So far we have conflicting reports from Louisa and Titch Juicy. Anybody else have any opinion (not that qualifies as street food, of course).

  11. Bea's do awesome breakfasts. Huge plates of pancakes and french toast. Thick cut bacon glazed with maple syrup. Hmmmm...
  12. UncleBen/edcam - what's wrong with a sociable eating experience in the open air? It's perfect for a quick/cheap lunch. And fun to go with other people and try lots of different things. Stop being so bloody miserable!
  13. Wow, an antipodean talking about something that's better back in NZ/Oz! Who would have thought it? (smiley) But yeah, chip shop chips here are traditionally soft instead of crispy, the crunchy ones are usually only found in restaurants and fancy pubs. Although Master Fryer by the station/sainos cook everything to order (I reckon it's the best chippy in ED), so he may be open to the request of a well-done batch.
  14. "pasta n sauce" already sounds like abnormally healthy post-pub food.
  15. The method of cutting doesn't matter, and the "hand-cut" tag is just wank. But real potato chips with that perfect crunch are one of the best things you can possibly eat. I do like chippy chips and skinny fries too, but they're altogether different beasts.
  16. Crossroads sounds good. Had too many breakfasts locally with one sausage, one bacon, one egg and a few beans (one place even put the beans in a silly little pot on the side). It's just not on. Quality of produce is one thing, but portion size and value are important too.
  17. Market Diner in Brighton. Home of the gut-buster (and mega-buster) breakfasts. Frequented by clubbers, coppers and shift workers in the small hours of the morning. It's not exactly the best food around, but it is an experience. More locally... Rock Steady Eddie's has an interesting ambience.
  18. Home made doner kebab... with a side of "bombay potato" hash browns. http://fishfingersarnie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/diy-doner.html http://fishfingersarnie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/bombay-potato-hash-browns.html
  19. M&S is good, because I can take back all the horrid stuff my Mum buys me for christmas, and exchange it for cakes.
  20. A burger or pasty on the 11:whatever is pretty much essential.
  21. Hot cross bun bread-and-butter pudding.
  22. If you're finding it hard to get horse burgers now that they've been withdrawn from all the supermarkets, you could always try making your own. http://fishfingersarnie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/horse-burgers.html
  23. Don't remember those, grande banane. Perhaps you'd been on the absinthe.
  24. It's not just processed food which can contain dodgy meat! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/01/roadkill-chinese-restaurant-kentucky-closed-after-dead-deer-kitchen_n_1929241.html
