For breakfast. Jezza tommmis in marylebone is fantastic, clearly the deliveroo kitchen isn't the same stander of quality. Mind you, I've just realised the OP ordered a chicken burger. So that's probably why it was rank or maybe its just me that doesn't get the point of them.

Ah I see, thanks sheff. Now I'm even more envious of all the choices. Sure some food travels better than others but each to their own, it's all about choice.
  3. Tommis burger joint in Marylebone is excellent if you're talking about the same one. No way is it the same standard as Burger King. Curries cannot be reheated successfully unless you have an authentic tandoori clay oven at home...I just don't get it? Why would anyone order it as take-away?!!
  4. A lemon sherbert or two from Woolworths. My mum had refused to buy sweets and found them in my pockets later. I had to return them the next day and apologise. Haven't stolen since, although have absent-mindedly (almost) walked out of a shop with unpaid items still in my hand.
  5. The certain knowledge that the doc and quids are circling, like sharks...poised and ready to go in for the kill. Patient and waiting. But will maxxi or LM swoop from the sidelines in a cruel twist of fate and claim that glittering prize? Only time will tell...
  6. Jeez KK it was clearly a typo should have said mouth open but I take your point. Of course we should all only have guests we actually want to be there & be comfortable with otherwise why bother? But I strongly suspect that wouldn't have made for great discussion on a forum thread (eh Louisa?) there's no reason to let food go cold whilst waiting for others to be served unless for some bizarre reason it takes you more than a few minutes to serve people? i would'nt have thought anyone would gain some weird pleasure over making people wait to eat, nor is there some advantage to be gained, it's just being polite not an artificial construct Fgs.
  7. Watched a repeat last night with a classic Giles comment when Trevor Macdonald was interviewing a mafia grass. "He's got killer's ear lobes Mary. See the way they are joined to his cheek. Classic psychopath ear lobes."
  8. what siouxsiesue said. In answer to your questions... 1. yep, its rude not to serve your guests first 2. informal or not its bloody rude to eat with your mouth full 3. extremely rude to begin eating before everyone has their food unless your host says tuck in don't wait etc 4. why bother inviting family you have no time for anyway? I really don't get why anyone would do that. 5. steamed pudding & gravy?!!! is it not HOT in ED?! 6. they were rude to make faux jokey comments, they should have just had a proper bitching sesh in the car on the way back. 7. they're not invited back so don't give it a moment's thought.

    Bacon sandwich

Pickle had it right on page 1 of this thread.
  10. Whoops sorry, clearly didn't properly read the thread title after a long day! Did I really suggest beautiful SW France was 'long-haul', how silly of me. As you were.
  11. Yep and every single one sadly mirroring what happened a few years ago in Scotland during the indyref/neverendum. But hey, lets conveniently gloss over that as it doesn't fit with the well-meaning, 'i know best' agenda.

  13. She is pretty gorgeous. I don't blame you. To the OP - SW France.
  14. I can understand why the vociferous social media contingent /preaching to the converted has the entirely opposite effect! Also, not keen on banned (for good reason) posters pontificating their tedious views on here either. Scottish voters must be thoroughly sick of all this referendum business. The same arguments are being played out over and over again. I don't think remainers will have anything to worry about tomorrow.
  15. why not fedex them? easily trackable that way (not always guaranteed to arrive on time tho). hop on a flight makes it sound so much simpler...
  16. Like a mojito. Without the mint.

  18. it was absolutely stunning!
  19. whatcha talking about willis?

PS not another bloody leave/remain thread, its becoming almost as tedious (but not quite) as the jockanese never-ending referendum.
  21. interrupts thread/ shame on you for missing 100 on yer own thread medic!! (meanwhile, quids, LM & maxi are losing their touch?) /as you were

The biology lab was scary as you never knew what plant was going to suddenly move. now that I think about it, it was all very harry potter. anyway, OP I hope you just bought your own basil liqueur rather than home made. I can only imagine that it tastes like alcoholic pesto? no?
