The biology lab was scary as you never knew what plant was going to suddenly move. now that I think about it, it was all very harry potter. anyway, OP I hope you just bought your own basil liqueur rather than home made. I can only imagine that it tastes like alcoholic pesto? no?
  2. is this thread about how dire the lounge is? must admit I thought I was reading the general issues section when skimming through the thread titles in here.
  3. I wish them well but (sorry) I had a little chuckle at 'vegetable focussed restaurant'. Is this part of the current backlash against all the posh burger and endless meat meat meat establishments? My only wish is that they named it Kale rather than Spinach, as its in leafy ED ;-) Pop-eye eat your heart out.
  4. Ordered flowers to be delivered to someone with very specific request NOT to include any flowers of a certain colour. Recipient sends me pics of bouquet and florist has included a few in this colour. Raging. Was thinking of posting some colour charts to them...but I'm over it now :))
  5. I know what you mean Jeremy it's very much reminding me of the Scottish independence referendum and the deeply unpleasant behaviour of the 'cyber-nats', their venom directed towards those not hell bent on 'independence' at any cost. That said, I will happily listen and respect others' views, whatever side of the fence they are on (of the EU ref).
  6. Out. (Btw, I've felt this way since way before the referendum issue came up & the ghastly term Brexit was coined.) I'm pretty certain the majority will vote to stay though. Have stayed out of all the social media comments on this subject as people tend to label you as Tory/racist/other unpleasant thing I'm not and I can't be bothered explaining to those who don't know me and make wild assumptions anyway.
  7. But why would anyone buy beer from a local brewery when it's much cheaper to make it at home etc etc...? It's just water & hops FGS. Nowt to it. Half the time you're just paying for the trendy label & the fact it's "locally sourced". A ridiculous idea for trendy newcomer show-off types who will pay anything just to look cool!!!! This is not the ED I remember.

It was 50/50 RD, I was almost going to suggest Sean! Blimey March last year!! He's done well. Even better if he's managing not to read too!

I read that like the intro to Trainspotting artful. OP - who was it? Mockers by any chance? :)
  10. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Seabag - "Kir Breton" is kinda like a posh > snakebite... I can imagine the bespectacled masses > in Peckham Refreshment Rooms would be all over > that! Gosh I remember snakebite & blackcurrant from my student union days! I think I'd probably quite like the more refined kir Breton version now. Diesel in Scotland is something different I thought it was blueish/green in colour & had the ubiquitous 1980s blue curacao in it. OP it's not even negroni anymore, it's *iced* negroni ;)
  11. Very sad news. Everywhere in London seems to be becoming blander these days. Even 'edgy' places have been designed to death. (Are we in Mick macs artificial reality world?)
  12. Hi Ian, That's very sad to hear, I hope the advice above has helped you find somewhere. I can't imagine how worried you must be or what this does to your physical health (let alone your mental health!)I wish I were able to help & hope there's someone out there who can. Best wishes to you & keep posting if you can. Katie
  13. I love the family with the dogs too. In fact most of the families have dogs which is nice to see! Anyway Mick Mac do you think you could get your arse back on here to elaborate on why you particularly like Giles. Favourite quotation? Have you liked him from the start or has he simply grown on you?

Whatever happened to Athena? When I first moved to London, I remember a great many hours were spent browsing through poster shops at Camden market and such like. For some reason everyone remembers the tennis player scratching her arse.
  15. Aw that's sad news chick, the local moggies have lost a good friend. Thanks for posting, so yet another local character sadly gone. I hope there's a good turn out at her funeral. (Although I'd like to note that you *can* be a cat person without being crazy, er... can't you?) ;)
  16. Me too HMB. I feel positively isolated here in darkest Norfolk, cast off from friends & family. The twins are such s handful at the moment too. Sigh!!

Thought he was Eastern European. > Either way I like him. Haha I wondered who the polish guy was that you mentioned and as I'm a relatively recent convert to Gogglebox too, thought it might be a character I'd not yet seen. And yes, the Brighton guys gay version of Jaws was brilliant. Sue if you're reading this, sandy & Sandra from Brixton are my favourites! I also like jenny & Lee the friends who share the caravan in Hull :)) Jeez didn't realise Brighton dad was in UKIP! His son's screechy whiny voice irritates beyond belief.
  18. Sweary German dad is funny...fooking hell!
  19. Giles is absolutely bloody hilarious. Not everyone gets him though. I like the Siddiquis too, especially one of them! Not really a fan of the shouty vicar or the boring sisters.
  20. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I've been waiting for a 'walk in' part from you > during this numbers didn't you spot me in the Wiveton cafe? ;) and yes, those eyebrows are something else? I have no idea what 'normal for norfolk' actually is and I suspect people from there don't even care!
  21. They look really uncomfortable. Disappointing. Thought nanofibres/technology had moved on and that lightweight 'full' briefs would be available by now :))

  23. Anyone else watching this? Wonderfully bonkers and full of eccentric characters. From gentleman farmers, gun dogs and ducks, stunning scenery and you've got a programme that's quite true to Norfolk. I find it amusing in a gentle sort of way* *come on quidsy, do your worst.
