  1. Banners charge is optional. You can remove it from your bill.
  2. Bunny19, Why haven't you replied to the questions posted after your original posting? Your answers would be very helpful. Sammy - yikes, how would a mirochip be removed other than by going to a vet? I shudder to think? Is your dog tattoed inside the ear?
  3. I like Headnizm. Try Nick on a Friday or Saturday. Don't know how much it is for a man' cut though. I pay ?21 for a wash, cut and rough blow dry.
  4. Sean, you need to call Southwark Council Environment Health - 525 2000. They will come out. I posted on here before how I did it for a local car. It is the same for burglar alarms.
  5. I didn't realise that these signs dated that far back. They are charming. How bonkers to replace them.

Contacting them worked for me. If a car alarm (same goes for burglar alarms) goes off without interruption and without turning itself off, for a certain amount of time, the council can break in to stop it if they can't contact the owners. And then charge the owners the cost. They also send a letter warning them they will be fined. Their number is 02 7525 2000
  8. I am always amazed by people who open their front door to all and sundry. You could easily be overpowered and then have your place ransacked. You an always ask the meter reader to stick one of the card they carry through your letterbox and then you fill that in yourself. This is the season for burgling after all.
  9. You can call the Environmental Health Dept. of Southwark and they will deal with it. They are open 24 hours a day.
  10. The woman I'm writing about was born in Fenwick Road so we are going back about 90 years! I do remember seeing deeds to a house for Fenwick Road once that said East Dulwich on it, not Peckham! So anyone living in Fenwick Road, check your deeds and you might be able to claim that you actually live in East Dulwich!!!!
  11. I was told, a few years ago, by an elderly neighbour that roads like Fenwick Rd SE15 used to be in East Dulwich but were moved because of election boundaries? Anyone know about that?

  13. JamesG for Mayor of East Dulwich and environs.
  14. Postcode snobbery. Oglander, Ondine and Coplestone Road are all SE15. A matter of minutes from East Dulwich Station. Hayes Grove is SE22. It is adjacent to Copleston Road. St. John's Church on East Dulwich Road is SE22. The school attached on Adys Road is SE15!!!!! The lovely new chocolate shop in Bellenden Road is SE15. Bellenden Village innit! I like the way your mind works JamesG.
  15. When I first moved to area I tested the water for hardness with a dipstick thingy. It was off the scale! It is probably worth installing a water softener if you can afford it.......
  16. Dulwich Mum Call your dog a coodle or cockerpoodle. Or are you sure he's not a spoodle? (Spanielxpoodle)
  17. Booboss, they look more like teenagers in need of a shave!
  18. There is also a good old fashioned bakery on Half Moon Lane in Herne Hill that sell lovely granary bread in different sizes including rolls. They will slice it for you. I buy a big loaf and freeze some for toast. Jack's in Pellat Road get their bread from there.
  19. Oh no, but I wish you well in your future lives. Are you open regularly until the 23rd?
  20. There is also the Turkish supermarket on Forest Hill Road, near Omrith.
  21. Thanks Shlonger but those were Flour Power loaves. Not as good. Flour Station now has a website and it says they supply to John Lewis Food Hall and to somewhere in Balham and the Kings Road as well as various markets. There is a Gail's Bakery in Hampstead definitely but don't know where else. Bit far to go. Yes, they have good stuff there.
  22. Anyone out there tried the Flour Station bread? They have a stall in Borough Market. They have a delicious white loaf which is made to a 1930s recipe. Wish they would sell their products around here.
  23. Only Blackbird bread I like is rosemary and the plain white. Tried the french stick and thought it very sweet as is some of the brown bread. Just my opinion of course. Croissants quite good.
  24. I have noticed that my tea tastes and smells different. I live behind Goose Green.
  25. Eliz It seems to make a difference to the taste depending on what cheese you use. I have tried Gouda, a Swiss Cheese I can't remember the name of but purchased from Mons at Borough Market, Cheddar and a Parmesan. I have also used different frying pans and that alters the taste. You should go for the smallest sprouts available. The overall taste of the sprouts is nice and nutty. There's also another sprout recipe on the same site I haven't tried yet but intend to.
