  1. He didn't hear what you said over the noise of the planes. Say it louder Growlybear.
  2. Someone had a party someone once and it was TOO LOUD. How dare people have occasional fun in my area.
  3. I've just re read Jah Lush's post and seen that it was sheltered accommodation so retract my statement. Friends/family point still stands though. A very sad story all round.
  4. Since when do housing associations pop in to check on their tennants? This is surely a lack of care from friends/family. If this guy was that nice a bloke that he'd travel from one end of the country to another to help a friend, it's a damn shame on his friends that the love wasn't reciprocated.
  5. Well jolly good for you. Choices are a wonderful invention aren't they.
  6. http://qpolitical.com/ice-bucket-challenge-end-like-rest-gotta-see/ Stop hating so much about things that you don't even have to watch. This has been a phonomenally successful campaign and long may it continue to raise the much needed money. I haven't done it and don't want to do it but I would to help this cause. Honestly people your whining is more painful than your so called friend's vanity. And as for the money going towards operational costs of charities, they couldn't run without the amazing people that work their nuts off coming up with ideas for fundraising events or the behind the scenes people that are NEEDED to run the charities.
  7. I've been trying to track this down for years. Anyone fancy posting a big roll up :-) over to me in Vietnam, dry as a nun's.........habit over here.

  12. I hope they're not! It was the end of school for the summer, grown down.
  13. Not to worry old chap, a gent has stepped in to help. Hope you and your bunch are well EP. x
  14. Would you, that's so sweet of you. There isn't any mad rush so happy to wait until you're back at work. I'll pm you. I did a google translate and when I translated it back it was a load of old tosh. Thanks Alan.x
  15. Hindi can also be written in the phonetic alphabet. i.e Namaste or Namaskar are the words for hello/goodbye. That's the extent of my written hindi unfortunately.
  16. Hi, I'm trying to send a postcard to someone we met in India and google translate is making a real nonsense of it. Can anyone help? It's only a few short lines. Cheers
  17. Warning When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain And pick flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit. You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat And eat three pounds of sausages at a go Or only bread and pickle for a week And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes. But now we must have clothes that keep us dry And pay our rent and not swear in the street And set a good example for the children. We must have friends to dinner and read the papers. But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple. Jenny Joseph
  18. Probably going to pick up his pre-ordered turkey.
  19. There are a couple of local authors who I think sell their books in Cheners. Or do a search on here.

  21. My kid do that in the car. It's very bloody annoying.
  22. Good day EDFers and a very happy new year to you all. Can anyone recommend a DJ they've hired. It's my gran's 90th in a few weeks and I want to hire a DJ with appropriate tunes i.e, a bit of Abba, Queen etc etc, that the older folk can jig along to. Any advice gratefully received. Ta lots
  23. All the very best to you and your lovely family El Pibe as you embark on your new chapter. I'll be in far flung places by the 8th so I wont be able to make it sadly. Lots of love to you. xx
