I have reservations about my child going through with this part of the curriculum & the materials used. Our school invites parents in to speak to us about it & show us the materials used. Unfortunately they do it in such a way that there are probably no more than 10-12 parents in each meeting at a time. (I was told by another parent with older children in the school they used to Invite all year group parents but due to the backlash they previously received they've found a new way to deal with it.) At the meeting I was at, I remember being the only one asking any questions! Situations like this make me lose respect for people especially when they speak to me or others in the school playground about what they're unhappy with but are not prepared to bring it to the attention of the school or even show support to parents raising their concerns. Aside from this I always raise my concerns about things I'm unhappy with but the norm is you become the "trouble maker" parent which tbh doesn't bother me in the slightest. Unfortunately the so called trouble maker parents are in the minority & I've found many parents are accepting of whatever the school throws at them. Sad times

My LO is due back to school in September. As much as I know he needs to be back I am still reluctant about sending him back. We know for sure covid is going nowhere in a hurry. I think it will be especially hard for the nursery/reception lot as their parents will be unable to settle them in.π Any thoughts, opinions/ discussion......

Possible Scam to see if house is empty
sweetgirl replied to Froglander's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This afternoon someone knocked my door, I sent my LO to ask who it was. He asked without opening the door of course & the guy said he was from green peace. My son said sorry my mums not here The guy sounded baffled (possibly because of my sons young sounding voice) But I definitely didn't hear him knock on my neighbours' door which was what baffled me! -
Discovery Sport stolen off driveway in broad daylight today
sweetgirl replied to Foxy1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I just wanted to bring to your attention, some time ago a friend of mine who lives near ryedale told me about an incident that happened to their neighbour. Basically someone trying to steal the wheels off their car, came one night & loosened all the nuts on all of the wheels in preparation to steal them the following night. I'm guessing the plan was to put the car onto bricks & take the wheels. Thankfully somehow they noticed..., as it could've costed them their lives! Tbh I don't check my wheels before I drive off but considering the crime rate currently & we know it'll get worse it may be something worth considering -
You guys are funny ππππππ

Settling in at nursery - Covid
sweetgirl replied to Rebecca.green's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Is there any chance nurseries could set up live cameras for access for parents only? It's abit like parents having the passcode to enter nurseries..... I'm not sure if this can work.... -
I'm considering leaving swimming for at least a year for my LO..... Any thoughts?

From my understanding most are preparing to open. The thing is many parents I know are preparing to keep their children home until at least September. Personally I wish to send mine back soon only because he's not doing the work he's been set although I'm prepared to keep him home til at least end of September. Either way I don't think we can get away from the beloved COVID-19 I know our school has put much in place, There are now sinks in the playground, hand sanitizers in place, no mixing outside of your groups during playtimes & it seems loads of other stuff too. Once the kids are back & things start to normalise I think we may have a second wave..........

Thanks guys I just spoke to them. Apparently I had paid for two policies as my previous was on automatic renewal. How silly I didn't realise I'd paid twice! Funny enough I remember going to buy car tax only to be told I had bought it three weeks earlier ππ½ I think I was going through quite a lot around that time & trying to get everything done...... Luckily they got back to me & have reimbursed me!

can anybody shed any light as i am confused! i saw an email today from my car insurer sent back in april. apparently i called them to cancel my policy & they have cancelled it from 4th oct 2019! i wasn't aware it could be done so many months later..... weird to say the least going to see if i can post a screenshot.

I have no idea about gift cards whatsoever π€ Can somebody advise plse..... My son was given a giftcard for his birthday last year in May. The card is due to expire in less than a week. As per terms and conditions the card cannot be used for online spending. As we all know the shops are closed! It looks like we are about to lose the money π Any advice gratefully received ππ½ Thanks
