Out of interest where did you go for hypnotherapy? I am considering trying it in order to overcome anxiety speaking in public and to strangers.

Thank you - incident near Actress this evening

We need a local police station, AND community police officers on the streets after dark. with the dark evenings now and with christmas around the corner (meaning more people carrying cash) I suspect we may well see an increase in this. As a woman I must admit I'm always on edge walking home from work in the dark -
Or children's wear....

In The west end it seems to be the romanian gypsies who do the scam, I dont know about elsewhere. I had a woman do it to me just off Oxford st as I was on my way in to work the other morning. She scooped a gold coloured ring out of the gutter then made lots of noises about having found it, showed it to me, said "Gold" whilst showing me what resembled a hall mark inside the band, she then kept repeating "lucky! you buy!" whilst shoving it at me. I just told her no-if it was gold and she found it she should keep it herself...but she still followed me to my workplace entrance nagging me to buy the thing. Be warned-they do also seem to do sophisticated faking of hallmarks in the rings too.

Its all well and good recommending surgeries however I have noticed that they seem to have a very narrow catchment area, and after doing research and digging around I decided which local GP I wish to register with, turned up at the desk only to be told they didn't take patients from my postcode, odd I thought as two of my neighbours recommended them. Turns out the rules have changed and they'd been regestered there for years-In the end I found only one surgery that would take patients from my postcode, even through its not the nearest to my home and requires either a 30min uphill walk or a bus ride. They are pretty useless as the reviews stated, been twice, very unimpressed would love to change but despite it appearing that you have a choice of GP when it boils down to you you do not.

Anyone want to buy a Police Station? One previous owner.

I am thinking about buying this but I need to do a little more detective work first. -
I went to Bromley shopping centre once...and couldnt wait to leave! Canary Wharf has some high st stores and is easy to get to. Other than that, the West-end is easy to reach.

Colour Me Happy sells THE most fantastic paints, And I for one would be gutted to see it go. In addition to paint they also sell great colored electrical flex.AND have a superb and fun painting wheel where kids and adults alike can get messy and make art. I think Jack Wills is VILE...its over-priced badly made and a copy of Abercrombie. Just very very dull. Space NK would be nice but so also would be a Neals Yard Apothicary,Or a frozen Yoghurt chain like Frae or PinkBerry. -
When people complain about Pubs and Bars, charging 'London prices' i hate to point out that SE London is STILL London. And the prices are definitely cheaper than "west end" prices.

I live in Forest Hill, having brought two years ago, Initially We were looking in ED but couldn't afford it, so Opted for FH because of the Ginger Line. We LOVE it here...great independent coffee shops, an arty vibe, The SylVan Post and The Hob. Theres a really good Indian Resturant on London Road (india Gate. Swimming pool, Lovely Parks, great cafe at the Horniman Museum etc etc etc... I was really worried having lived in West London my entire life but I don't regret moving here. The other great thing is Lordship Lane's shops are within easy reach, or you can hop up to Crystal Palace for a change or scene. Finally 20mins on the overground and youre in Shorditch.

Correction! Its the Railway Telegraph that I believe you've already discovered

The HOB do sometimes have some really good indie bands, Also Canvas and Cream also in Forest Hill on London road has occasional gigs and open Mic nights. You can subscribe to a monthly newsletter. Likewise The Sylvan Post has occasional gigs. Theres a pub called The Railway Tavern (think thats the name-its in Forest Hill) where they do live music, mainly Soul_alexander O'Neil has gigged there a few times, but I believe you have to book. Hope this helps.

I have to say there are lots of lovely little Pockets in Forest Hill on the Western side of the station, lots of greenery nice houses, and superb transport links. We all know property prices are going up, and for those not already on the ladder its tough. I grew up in Bayswater, my entire life was in west london, friends work (it still is in the west end) EVERYTHING-but in order to get on the property ladder in my late '30's I had to more South of the river. There is no point in becoming bitter and twisted about the cost of property in the city, look at Tokyo,Paris and New York, most people have to rent cos they can't afford to buy.

If she's EMO the Camden for sure, then jump on the overground and get off at Shorditch High st so she can check out the vintage shops round Brick Lane, Rough trade records on Dray Walk, and Lunch at Pizza East which is always buzzing, good grub and inexpensive.

Where has the Electrical shop cafe gone???
NewWave replied to Frankie G's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm very sad that its closed, they did lovely breakfasts and lunches. Yes, the service was a bit rubbish, but I forgave it because the food was great. I think for a restaurant to succeed there it really needs to open in the evening, a group of people sitting for ages over cups of coffee during the day doesn't pay the bills. I'd love to see a good organic restaurant with great wines and cocktails opening there....but I may be in the minority. -
But Give and Take still donates to Breast cancer charities. I was told that if you donate and don't want a 50/50 cut then the total made from the donation goes to charity. As I am in the fortunate position of not being strapped for cash at the moment, I am happy to give them my unwanted designer clothes.
