  1. Yes, not very good parents and what happened could have been avoided had they been more responsible. (ducks under cover awaiting barrage of abuse) ;-)
  2. Yet in this so called "modern Britain" there are children and old people dying of starvation, cold and neglect, explain that one.... I'm sure they have all in their own way tried to get help.
  3. Call me cynical, but I don't for one moment believe that the 2 sons were completely unaware of the fact that their parents were pulling off a ginormous insurance scam. I believe they have concocted the story to cover them, although the only reason it all came out was because the wife got the hump coz hubby was having an affair and wanted to leave her, then feigned coercion by hubby to try cover her back when the proverbial poop hit the fan and it all went wrong! Just my personal theory, no beatings please, and no I have no facts or information to back it up :)
  4. Instead of penicillin, could'nt you ask your doctor to put you on metronizadole? it is an anti-biotic, and my dentist gave me this when I had an abscess (dreadful things those!) purely for the reason that he said they were the only antibiotics that you can take whilst consuming alcohol, (was going to my sister's wedding!)
  5. Ha! checked this thread out expecting to read something about someone abusing and starving and mistreating geese in the area!
  6. While it is unpleasant to read some people's uncharitable views on people who find themselves in the unfortunate position of having to beg, (yes I know there are the career beggers who only pretend so I can understand I'm talking about the genuine ones) I usually buy them a sandwich, bag of chips (especially on a cold night) or whatever I can afford, it is heartening to read about the more charitable people like Chav's story above, and gives you a glimmer of hope for human kindness towards their fellow man. I did draw a line to the eastern block women on the underground who drag their kids/babies along with them, (sometimes even getting them to beg for money) because I did not want to encourage this practise, haven't seen them for ages, buskers etc. I always throw a few coins their way, they have a talent and are trying to use it to make a few bob.
  7. Ha! gives a whole new meaning to the magic phrase from "Babe" "Baaaaaahhhhh raaaammmmm yooooouuu!:))"
  8. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It would be a few busses, but I woudn't bother. > Other than the party go go sheep and some caves, > there isn't a lot to do. I beg to differ Mr/Mrs Keef, on the contrary, my sister lives in Chislehurst, (actually not far from said incident!), and on the high street there you can find lots of restaurants, upmarket and normal ones, seafood restaurants and bistros and some really lovely wine bars, not to mention clubs, (these are usually all very well attended) fantastic designer clothing shops, curio shops of all kinds, and huge family pubs that have their own petting zoos! (sssshhh! don't let the ED residents know that, otherwise there will be an influx of "visiters" to "pet" the poor sheep! ha!!!) ;-)
  9. Oooh, I get it, doh! I am not registered on any of those kind of sites....my brain hurts
  10. I must be doing something wrong, nothing happened when I clicked on it!
  11. I have a fig tree and pear tree, the latter not being ready until around september/October but growing nicely due to all the rain we have currently been having!(lovely conference pears, but they very much take care of themselves so unfortunately I can't really take the credit for fruition of the same!
  12. Is that the one where the lyrics go... I don't like cricket, uh, oh no, I love it uh :-$ uh thanks PGC gona be stuck in MY head all afternoon now! ha! Its between that and everybody hurts at the moment, although there is a song, I don't know who it is by but the lyrics go something like this, Walking 'round the room singing Stormy Weather At Fifty Seven Mount Pleasant Street Well it's the same room but everything's different You can fight the sleep but not the dream chorus = everywhere you go, you always take the weather with you,
  13. I'm sorry, but I don't believe it was an underhanded compliment etc. as some have suggested or even the feeling of being drawn to a certain type of girl blonde/brunette thing, to me, it is a blatant, she's pretty for a black girl in the context of - we know that black girls are damn ugly so its rearly rare to find one who looks halfway decent, and i'm really surprised to see one!
  14. Shoot wrong thread, apologies! lol
  15. I find your comment to be both offensive and completely untruthful and have reported you.
  16. Obviously looking for a rise NatashaD, quite how my getting a racist and derogatory comment (that means belittling or disparaging, basically not very nice comment), appears to have made me come across as clearly having "a massive chip" on my shoulder, bewilders me!:-S
  17. Whatever you do, do not allow anyone to take your meter readings, on these alone, the company can change your suppliers to theirs, because of course the client agreed to it, how else would "they have given me" a meter reading. Happened to a friend of mine, the next thing she knew she was getting a "sorry you're leaving us" letter from one and "hi thankyou for using us" from another, will try and get the name of said company.
  18. I'm sorry, I could not disagree with you more, completely and utterly WRONG. And last I will say on subject matter.
  19. Have to say that I believe it is the pure lack of fear of anyone in authority, kids know that not only will the Police do nothing, the teachers can do nothing, goodness even their own parents can't lay a hand on them without the threat of claims of abuse, (I am not one to condone physical punishment but the mere mention of a "good hiding" (whatever that was! although we knew it must be bad) was enough to keep us towing the line. If bullying was not so rife in the armed forces, I would even go as far as to suggest some kind of national service, for both males and females, obviously not to get sent to war, am against that, or some kind of outreach/outbounders courses to get back to nature and learn to rely and respect your fellow man/woman. All sounds like gobbeldygook I know and not feasible, but something needs to be done and soon, what kind of adults do you think these (and not generalising and saying all because there really are some fantastic teens out there, polite, helpful, thoughtful)children are going to grow into. Alas, going on a course soon and won't be near a computer, wahhhhhh!
  20. ;-) Have a wonderful summers day (all of those fortunate enough not to be stuck at work), whatever your religion, colour, sexual orientation, etc. etc.B)
  21. Go horsebox, go horsebox, go horsebox (does big double handed clockwise rotational circles in front of bod!)
