  1. is that because you don't like going out? Have no one to help you out babysitting, or the next day with a hangover? Or, purely because you don't like leaving kids? If I had a decent babysitter, family say, I would love to go out once a week, just for dinner even or to the cinema. Sadly that's one of the downfalls for me of being in London..Not enough babysitters that I wholly trust and the lack of ?10million to help me out as per the Roony's.
  2. Good Luck to her..From what you read/see on the TV, I would guess both her and Wayne are both really close to their families and probably left the baby with a well capable mum. It's very family orientated in Liverpool. After 9 months of being pregnant and if you feel up to it with the knowledge your baby is totally safe I personally would of jumped at the chance. I didn't go out for a while with when my wee one was born but I have 10 and more years on her. She's only early 20's so it's probably not much of an effort at all for her to get her glad rags on and hit the town. I raise my glass (indoors)to her.
  3. Thanks for the info both. Ill try giving them a call I think. Cheers x
  4. I couldn't make this as my wee son was poorly. I hope you can help me with a question goosegreenpta? My son is 3 in December, I have had his name down at Goose Green nursery since last year and I wondered a)When the terms starts for 3 year olds (his birthday 6th December when he turns 3) and b)How and when I have find out if has been accepted. Many Thanks Steph
  5. Hi Snowboarder. If you are not doing this already try putting your son on his front a lot during the day on a rug or the carpet. He will soon learn to roll anyway but it might speed it up and make you feel easier. A friend advised me to do it when my son was quite young (I never thought to do it to be honest) and he really loved it.
  6. Does anyone have a list of what goes on at the Ivydale Centre? Does it cover toddlers also? How far is it from East Dulwich? Thanks Steph
  7. Hi Pippa What road is St johns church on? Thanks Steph
  8. Yes I think you are right Gubodge. I felt so sorry for him when he was saying his bum was poorly. I think ill let him poo in his nappy until he is ready but continue to praise him for the wee wee's Ill have to try with the pull ups again rather than the underpants perhaps. Thanks for you advise all
  9. Right potty training going ok...Lots of wee's in the loo (on his new seat) but poos just aren't happening. We have kept the nappies off him for the last 4 days but he is making himself consitpated and complaining that his bum is sorend so I end up putting the nappy back on because thats the last thing I want. He goes once his nappy goes back on when we go out. I have tried: Sitting with him Leaving him alone Promising him a new toy Bought him new underpants Said I have thrown all the nappies away now as he is a big boy Leaving the toilet door open at all times!!!! Any ideas? Do you think I should invest in a toilet seat/step combo? He doesnt have the step.... Thanks Steph
  10. Sounds good...Will check out BHS. Thanks guys
  11. I am starting to think about new shoes and a coat for my three year old for winter (Sorry I know we are not in the right season yet). I have looked at the usual, John Lewis, Next, JOJO, M&S, Next but cant really find anything I like. I like plain navy's without logo's - a classic wool coat and smartish boots... Any other good websites I could look at? I don't mind paying ?30 or so for each. Quite like this one but am not totally sold http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detailfash.php?type=FASH&code=A2615&proddesc=Traditional+Duffle+Coats&supercategory=BRN00004&branch=&wcategory=CAT00045&catdesc=Boys%27+Coats+%26+Outerwear&super=0020BRN00004~0020BRN00011~0050CAT00045&treecode=TRE00009
  12. Same as Jimbo1964 for us. I totally loved having my boy in the same bed from day one, it just felt so natural feeling his breathing next to mine. Admittedly as he got older he did take over the bed but when that time came we bought him his very own bed in his own room (age 2 and a bit) and he loved it from day one and sleeps from 8 til 7 every day. The part that drove me mad was the getting him to sleep! In the early days we would have to lie with him, then sit in the room while he went to sleep, I mean I remember sitting in there for over an hour sometimes! That I would change if I were to have another one....
  13. Luckily he's not started nursery yet so we might be able to keep numbers down this year! He's mad on Softplay so I could look into that.. I was hoping to combine it with lots of adult friends too as a pre Christmas get together though he will probably never forgive me for that!
  14. Moos can I ask - did you get a special loo cover for the toilet seat or use the potty - or both? I am also going to start this week as my little one is a good 2 and half..
  15. Any ideas? My little man will 3 on the first Sunday of December. He keeps asking when he can have his own birthday party so of course, he can have one in December! I rang the Herne and figured out with everything it would be ?300ish - not good within the month of Christmas! Thinking around 10 kids...
  16. Mrs TP - thanks so much, it does help. I think the best bet for me right now is to get to the interview's and work it out from there...
  17. Hi Mellors All good information, thank you! Might to the walk to Puddleducks and do the two full days there, sounds like a good option, if they will do it..I do have his name down in all the schools too but as you say, I won't hold my breath!
  18. Thanks Guys, ill have a look. Will just be looking for two and a half hour sessions, five times a week - the hours all kids are entitled to.. Fuschia - I thought that because he is 3 in December it kicks in in Jan? Its says on the Southwark website: When is my child eligible?:: The nursery education grant gives children access to free part-time nursery education in the term after they are three.. Would that not be the Jan then?
  19. Sorry to go back to this AGAIN but my son is due to start nursery in Jan (when he will be 3) and I am struggling to find somewhere to send him. I thought I had it sorted, had his name down for both Gumboots and Puddleducks (both of which are a 5min walk for me) but now they are moving it's going to be a total pain for me to get to as I don?t drive. I don?t want to spend the whole winter getting on buses to a nursery only to have to collect him a few hours later!!! Will only be able to use my goverment grant to pay for it too. Any ideas? Am close to the betting shop on Crystal Palace Road.
  20. Yeah the mini scooter is a great gift - my two year old stood on it for around six months but now goes like the clappers. Another cool gift is: VINTAGE FISHER PRICE RECORD PLAYER 1971 *RARE 8 SONGS* on Ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=record+fisher+price&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=kids+record+fisher+price&_osacat=0
  21. How about Thom Yorke and Dave Gilmour?
  22. Bore off Lu Lu Too - that's not even funny...I mean what is the point of your post?
  23. It's all Steph this and Steph that for you Domo...I take total responsibility and feel foolish - can you stop using my name so much now please?
  24. OK thought I should respond...I said the first thing that sprang to mind without thinking, it's was what came into my head after reading the thread. A knee jerk reaction. It was silly of me not to think about what I was saying...I apologise for offending everyone. In my mind, I would like get my husband (who doesn't realise he was volunteered to take out the cameraman)to put the camera over the cameraman's head though in reality he certainly wouldn't do so and I would never encourage to do so either. Had I said this earlier it would of saved a lot of trouble I know. One thing to come out of it is the confirmation that DOMO is a pretty aggressive TOSSER!!!
