Jeez! I remember when the only place you could get it in London was the very first Oddbins that opened up on Farringdon Road. They didn't sell it in pubs, you couldn't get it anywhere else. It was around ?2.50 a bottle then (1974). About a pound more than an ordinary bourbon or whisky or whiskey. I thought that was expensive but I loved it and still do.
