  1. Ah! Mick you're right. '74 and '78 were far more dismal times than these though the players then weren't as rich and spoilt as they are now and that is where I think some of the resentment lies. SJ has also made a very good point about going to old "Soviet bloc countries and playing well". Nobody does. Oh! And I'll hold my hands up about Walker. He was very poor last night. Johnson's right back slot is secure for the time being.
  2. I think he took Wilshere off as a precaution. To be fair to the lad he hasn't played much and is coming back from a very long time out through injury. It's another 65 minutes under his belt. Young was pretty anonymous though but there again another player coming back from injury. Walcott however, rubbish. Another crap game for England. Still a shit Aaron Lennon for me. I would have liked us to have been a bit more attack minded and adventurous. Would have liked to have seen Defoe come on who I think given the service would have scared the shit out of their defence with his guile, pace and ability to score a goal out of nothing. Still, you can't really complain with all the injuries we had coming into the game its still a good away point and we should win our last two home games against Montenegro and Poland.
  3. Hmmm... there's two ways of looking at this. The further gentrification of Brixton continues afoot with yet another chain. Brady's bar seems to have been shut forever and it's good that something is finally happening with that little spot but Wahaca? Hmmm... Mixed feelings.
  4. Q: What's the best thing about smoking crystal meth? A: Only one more sleep til Christmas...
  5. Spurs money out ?110 million. Money in ?110 million. ;-)
  6. ?3 million or even ?1.5 million is a ridiculous amount of money for a loan move.
  7. You want to take the wife, kids and friends to a greasy spoon on her birthday? You certainly know how to push the boat out don't you.
  8. Nor could I. I thought there'd be loads of clubs in for him. I reckon he could turn out to be the best of the bunch. A bargain.
  9. Parkdrive Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Arsenal 1 ?110 million 0 Fair play to you I thought we were rubbish today. No creativity in the midfield. Three defensive midfielders is never a good thing. Can't wait for Eriksen to start Proper number ten. Just what we need.
  10. I'm allergic to watches. I don't wear jewellery either for the same reason. Total waste of money. A little jewellery on a woman is fine but on a man - you just end up looking a bit of a dick.
  11. I don't watch (sh)it.
  12. No way. We're definitely keeping Jermain Defoe. He's still the business. Scored a couple of good goals the other night and should have had a penalty just to remind AVB just how good he is.
  13. You can have Adebeyor if you like. Go on. Take him. Please please take him. You can have him for nothing for all we care. All our love, Daniel Levy, Andre Villas Boas & Spurs fans everywhere.
  14. Fuck off!
  15. I'll be taking in both games at The George Canning with my niece who is Liverpool daft. They've got a new big screen and they'll be a Barbie on the go. COYS!
  16. Parkdrive Wrote: > And what will be their excuse when they don't? > Didn't they spend shed loads least summer as well? I can't ever remember a spending spree like this one. It's all a bit different from getting Louis Saha and Ryan Nelson on loan at the last minute.

You're the only man I (don't) know that has read James Kelman and bloody hell some of his books are bleak and though I don't think I've read that one, though it is entirely possible I have because it's a long time since I've read his stuff... I stopped after A Disaffection, so I'll add that to the list. He's a damned good writer though.
  18. Yeah, who'd be a Gooner eh? ;-)
  19. El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "One way or another doesn't every club try to buy > success" > > nope. Why not? A club is a company like any other. You have to invest in that business in the hope that you can be successful. Same thing different shit innit.
  20. One way or another doesn't every club try to buy success? We've done good business before the imminent Bale sale without having to pay inflated prices. Ok so we've spent a lot of money but I think that has been long overdue. I'm sure there are some envious glances from other clubs especially that lot down the road who we're playing on Sunday. AVB is being fully backed by the board and is building a team with the money he's been given. Spending money is one thing being successful is another. I'm enjoying the ride so far. Was at the Lane last night and last Sunday. So far so good. Played 4 Won 4 Drawn 0 Lost 0 GF 10 GA 0. It's a good start but the real test comes on Sunday at the Effeminates.
  21. You can PM me if you want and see if we can work something out.
  22. Spot on Matthew.
  23. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Looks like Chelsea have snatched Willian from under Spurs' noses. I hope he breaks his leg and is out for the season. And it's long overdue we gave Chelsea a bloody good hiding. Want to wipe that smirk off of Mounrinho's smug gob.
  24. Gareth who? Townsend's ready to step up. http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/dinamo-tbilisi-0-tottenham-hotspur-5-all-goals/
  25. I still remember the country's euphoria the last time we won the World Cup though I was very upset that my childhood hero Jimmy Greaves missed the match through injury. I'd be enormously happy if we won it again. But if in the unlikely event that Tottenham Hotspur won a treble I'd probably come in my pants.
