  3. I'm A Man - Bo Diddley.
  4. Argentina. Great on paper but with a manager who hasn't got a clue. They had a very good win last night away to Germany but isn't Maradona still serving his ban?

B) I was aware of that Simon. I was.... oh never mind.
  6. What Difference Does It Make - The Smiths.
  7. You would have thought Joe Cole would have been selected instead ahead Walcott seeing that he's not yet played under Capello.
  8. What A Waster - The Libertines
  9. Well that's told you hasn't it Mick. Out of those mentioned though head to Hoopers. Lovely pub with a great choice of ales and lagers and it doesn't get as crowded as some of the others in East Dulwich/Peckham.

  13. It's a good point that Patrick Barclay has made. I think that tackling has quickly become a lost art in the game. When I see Paul Scholes trying to do it and he's getting on a bit it's laughable. You'd have thought he'd learnt by now. It's something he's never been able to do and he usually ends up mistiming wildly and fouling a player and getting booked or worse sent off. Winning the ball in midfield is by and large about making tackles but you don't see so much of it as you used to as the game has become less physical than it was 20 years ago but the game is one hell of a lotter faster than it was then and because of that we are seeing more injuries of the kind that has happened to Eduardo and Ramsey, which are down to mis-timed tackles. Wilson Palacious is a pretty good example of the kind ball winning midfield player that you used to get. Making good tackles, winning the ball and passing it to someone more creative. He reminds me quite a bit of Dave Mackay in that respect but both men could and can play a bit as well. Mackay also had his leg broken twice in quick succession in the days when it could be a career ending injury.
  14. Well going on last night's performance Waddle definitely has a point. Walcott was beyond poor but to be fair to him he's had his fair share of injuries recently and he's still only 20 and he's still learning.

  16. Aren't they all called actors these days? How about The Thespian?
  17. Too Much Too Young - The Specials.
  18. There's sport in the nearby Prince Albert and The Montepelier if that's what you want Mick and they are within 100 yards of The Wishing Well/Victoria and then further up the road you have all the sports you could want at Hoopers.
  19. I think Scott's on the money here. I walked down Choumert Road recently and noticed the clientele in Le Petis Tou or whatever it's called - sitting there munching away and reading their Observers and whatnot and couldn't believe I was in Peckham. That part (the Bellenden Road area) has changed so much over the last ten years it's almost unrecognisable. There are a lot of more shall we say well heeled residents that have moved into that area and you've got to give them somewhere where they would feel comfortable having a drink. Better to have a pub that is open and thriving than one that is on it's last legs and empty.
  20. I had one when I was in my mid-20s. It went on for two years. She was a complete pain the arse and it was a bit scary but it's really not something I would want to talk about at length on a public forum.
  21. Jeez! Even the Gooners fans have taken on Wenger's seige mentality and are running with it.
  22. I think Wenger's constant whinging about referees and other team's players and managers has got in the way of any sympathy he may have had coming his way and it's really got nothing to do with being foreign. Alex Ferguson is exactly the same. Still, Eduardo and Ramsey's injuries were/are particularly nasty and I hope that the lad can make a speedy recovery.
  23. Good point Huggers and I'm inclined to agree with you but a good comedian will embarress the heckler so much he'll soon pipe down but if he doesn't and it has become detrimental to the audience's enjoyment then yes he should be ejected.
