  1. Aha! Sir Mockney Piers our history correspondent.
  2. No, no lasting after effects old bean although there has been the odd occasion of a morning when my whole body has shaken like a willow tree and I've had seek; for emergency and medicinal purposes you understand, several very large brandies with my coffee in the morning and then I've been right as ninepence and ready for the rest of the day's deluge.

It's a rare occasions that I go in there but on the few occasions that I have recently or over the past few years it always seems to smell of burnt lamb. So if you like your lamb don't expect it to be rare or rare to middling, it'll be burnt to a cinder by the smell of things.
  4. Indeed I do and I'm sure you do to EDOldie. Proper cocaine and none that bloody novocaine crap they use now. Trouble was your mouth would be numb for a fortnight and you'd just end up dribbling and spilling your drinks. Most unfortunate and tiresome especially if you were an alcoholic like I was at that tender early age.
  5. I like the gang fight scene at about ten or 15 minutes into Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange with the lines straight from Anthony Burgess's novel and his invented language Nadsat that Alex and his droogs use. Not strictly swearing but certainly inventive invective. "Oh oh oh. Well, if it isn't fat stinking billygoat Billyboy in poison. How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly, thou."
  6. Indeed! Manys the time when I were a lad I'd sit and wait for what seemed days for the bottle's more milky and powdery substance to go to the bottom of the bottle and the morphine would rise to the top so I could slip my syringe straight in and have a cheap fix. Can't say that the grains were the finest for my veins though. Bloody kids today they don't know what's good for 'em. I mean crack, for heaven's sake, who'd want to take any drug that was named after a piece of your arse?
  7. The cobbler on Grove Vale is excellent. The shop may look a trifle shabby but the work he does is top notch and almost half the price you'll pay in town.
  8. I hadn't noticed it had been removed and I've still got four games on the go. Played last night and this afternoon. As for the music argument. Fuck the majors. It's bollocks. I can remember record sleeves with "home taping is killing music." It didn't and it still thrived and will continue to do so. I used to make loads of tapes for friends whether they be mix tapes or whole albums but if they liked something I'd recorded for them they'd usually go out and buy it in another format.
  9. Blimey another hat-trick for Darren Bent last night. Albeit against lowly Leyton Orient. Seven goals in two games. I just hope he can recreate that sort of goalscoring form in the Premiership as it looks like Dimitar Berbatov will sadly also be following Robbie Keane out the exit door.
  10. Demolition Man - Grace Jones
  11. That stretch also boasts a very good Carribean takeaway. Rice & Peas.
  12. I'm Joachim Rindt so will have to miss it.
  13. I'd say that was definitely it Keef. The Pool have done all their dough on Keano. 20 million quid on the transfer fee and another ?20 million in wages over the period of his contract. Nice work if you can get it for a 28-year-old.

There's plenty of space out the front for that, just look at Si Mangia which is now packed out front on a sunny summer's evening. Be mad not to.
