That's nonsense. The reason Ledley King doesn't get booked is because of the timing of his tackles and his fantastic reading of the game. He is pure class and when fit is one of the best central defenders in the world. Even you're blessed Thierry Henry has gone on record saying that he is the best defender he's faced.

Considering the likes of John Terry, Frank Lammpard, Michael Ballack and Andrei Shevchenko are on the same money at Chelsea I'd say it was money well spent. It's not like they can't afford it and he is after all a very special talent.
