  1. The Drum is on North Cross Road and Orisiwu Spot is on the Greendale Estate.
  2. It's our gain and you're loss
  3. Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves - Eurythmics.
  4. I don't watch much TV but when I left CWALD's post a few brandies after walking her home from the last Forum jolly up at the Dog I left clutching Series 1 which she has very kindly lent me. It's brilliant and I'm utterly addicted.
  5. Sister Midnight - Iggy Pop
  6. Lee "Scratch" Perry who along with King Tubby invented dub/remixing/sampling and whose output has gone into literally thousands of records over the last 45 years and is still going strong. A singer/writer/composer, producer, mixer, engineer, record shop and label owner, dj.... And doing all that way before anyone else. More recently for the same sort of thing - Soulwax and David Holmes.
  7. Of course but it's not as bad as it used to be where the cabbies would just shirk and say "Sorry guv, don't go south of the river." The thing to do is to get in the cab first and then tell them where you're going. Another tip is don't say Lordship Lane - say East Dulwich. There is a Lordship Lane in Tottenham which isn't the most salubrious of areas and they don't much like going there either, especially after dark.
  8. Very good. I remember seeing something similar when that idiot Bush got in first and and God help us second time round.
  9. Midnight Rambler - Rolling Stones
  10. I agree with what you are saying about young Damon. You've also forgotten about his African collaborations, his record label Honest Jons and....well the boy is doing well isn't he. He was certainly shall we say the latter part of the 90s.
  11. Because unfortunately over the last couple of years he has been injury prone hasn't been fit enough to command a regular place in any starting line-up.
  12. Steveo about time you posted, yer blinking lurker you. Shameless self-promotion going on here but having read the book twice and sub-edited the first draft and lent you god knows how many books for research and given you the utmost encouragement without any mention in the damned acknowledgments (what acknowledgments!) I can only highly recommend it to everyone on here. Go buy it and enjoy and make this man some money so he can buy me a drink.
  13. Couldn't agree with you more Keef. If fit and provided with the right service Michael Owen remains a class act on and off the pitch.
  14. Actually I largely agree with you Sean. To me Bowie WAS the 70s as Prince was to a large extent the 80s. If you go back further then the Beatles, the Stones and Dylan were the 60s. They have all gone through their creative peaks and troughs though.
  15. My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You - George Jones
  16. All it needs is a lick of paint here and there and toilets spruced up and as Barry Marshall said, do up the tables on the outside and some nice plants and Bob's yer uncle. I agree about the wine list and guest beers would also bring in some more punters. It's a lovely old fashioned boozer with great bar staff. It doesn't need changing much just bit of tender loving care.

    The Vale

If the current management had the foresight (which they don't) I think it could quite easily make a good music venue and I don't mean some poxy little dance floor under a mirror ball and crappy lighting while cheap looking girls in scuffed white stilletos dance around their handbags to some 70s and 80s disco shite.
  18. Sorted. :)-D
  19. The worker ants Brendan. Worker ants walking blindly over London Bridge and Waterloo at 8.45 and back again at 5.15. One day they will hurl themselvese lemming-like into the Thames.
  20. She's Lost Control - Joy Division
  21. Happiness Stan - Small Faces
  22. Folk smokes a roll-up and sports a beard and glasses. Folk wears a duffel coat on Ban The Bomb marches.
  23. Happiness Is A Warm Gun - The Beatles
  24. Standing In The Way Of Control - Gossip
