  1. Brilliant, it was the KLF- Doctoring The Tardis. Took me back days of necking Es in clubs under railway arches when Es went for ?20 a pop but worth every penny.
  2. It doesn't because "We got Ledley, We got Ledley, we got Ledley King.">:D

  6. That's your opinion and your entitled to it but obviously I disagree but then I'm biased. I take it Terry Henry's not blessed because he doesn't play for the Arsenal anymore.>:D
  7. Good Times - Chic
  8. That's nonsense. The reason Ledley King doesn't get booked is because of the timing of his tackles and his fantastic reading of the game. He is pure class and when fit is one of the best central defenders in the world. Even you're blessed Thierry Henry has gone on record saying that he is the best defender he's faced.

  10. Considering the likes of John Terry, Frank Lammpard, Michael Ballack and Andrei Shevchenko are on the same money at Chelsea I'd say it was money well spent. It's not like they can't afford it and he is after all a very special talent.
  11. I Feel So Good - Big Bill Broonzy
  12. That must be really thrilling for a Blades supporter Simon. A touch of schadenfreude methinks.
  13. Oh God I hope you're wrong *Bob* but I can see where you're getting at. I remember the Moore Park Hotel in Wood Vale being turned into flats a decade ago and just hope that the CPT doesn't go the same way. Dread thought.

  15. Ahem! Yes we've done you a bit of a favour haven't we. It was amazing the amount of my Gooner friends were phoning and texting me to say Come On You Spurs on Saturday but if I had a pound for every time we have conceded a goal in the last minute over the years I would probably enough for a decent pension fund and would be considering early retirement. We are still improving slowly but surely as recent result have proved. The signing of Woodgate and Hutton is also a major boost.

    Hi all

Excellent advice Nero and CWALD. Now can DaviniaD can you get to the point and say what you want to and then perhaps we can discuss it.
  17. Of course there are plenty of gay people who enjoy sports. My brother and his boyfriend support the Arsenal which is incredibly galling as I am a Spurs fan. I'm also sure there are plenty of gay footballers who are afraid to come out as it is such a masculine environment. Sorry but I have gone wildly off thread here haven't I. CPT CPT CPT CPT CPT CPT

  19. Bob, if you don't like sports on the telly in the pub. Just nip into the bar on the other side. Simple really. As Keef often says - it's two pubs for the price of one. Anyway just for you:- Sport, sport masculine sport equips a young man for society Yes sport turns out a jolly good sort it's an odd boy who doesn't like sport.
  20. Sweet Little Sixteen - Chuck Berry
  21. Anna, I'd be very surprised how anyone could ever find you offensive? Don't worry about it. You were in fine form.

  23. The CPT isn't "empty" it's just a quiet backstreet boozer. It's certainly unpretentious and perhaps that's why I and many others like it so much. It's a proper old fashioned pub that just needs a bit of TLC. It certainly filled out a bit over the weekend for the rugby and football. I had earlier gone into the EDT with a mate to watch a bit of the rugby on Saturday and it was rammed to the gills and you couldn't get anyway near the telly or the big screen so went to the CPT instead and found a very pleasant atmosphere with people enjoying the rugby and later on the football in a not overcrowded, packed in like sardines way that you get in the likes of the Magdala and the EDT. I've said it before and I'll say it again because I feel it's worth mentioning that the bar staff in the CPT have to be nicest and friendliest in the area and the Guinness goes down a treat.
  24. He went out with a weather girl before the Cheeky Girl. Sian Lloyd if my memory serves me well. Obviously he likes the showbiz lifestyle and the limelight and publicity that goes with it. I can't see the attraction myself but he certainly looks like he's been whupped with the ugly stick.
