  1. No it isn't. It's crap.
  2. Dear Catgirl, I nearly died of boredom reading Child In Time.
  3. Wishful thinking Domitianus?
  4. Must be the only restaurant on Lordship Lane that I haven't eaten in. I can't say I'm a great lover of Mexican food, so it just hasn't appealed to me. My sister and brother-in-law went in there last week though and said it was pretty good, especially the Margaritas but that ain't saying much.
  5. Too close the Harvester 400 yards up the road and please God, that's gotta go too.

    wtf?

So, do feel free to lounge with the rest of us lizards.
  7. What's the D.U.C?
  8. Count Basie Orchestra on triangle.
  9. Doesn't bother me. I'll bash away at anything.
  10. I can't see anything pretentious in it at all Keef. Call me old fashioned but I don't think people jam enough these days, it's just a bit of fun, nothing serious, you don't have to be some egocentric muso showing off your licks to enjoy a jam.
  11. What's wrong with jamming for God's sake? ...if it's good enough for Bob Marley it's good enough for me.

    a joke

I lost my dog, so I put an ad in the local paper saying: "Here boy!"
  13. Hey! Huguenot, finally clicked onto that MB thingy. I couldn't sit through it without feeling terribly nauseous. Urgh!
  14. I watched that last night. Bloody scary. The Scientologist main man was a really arrogant, obnoxious, intimitating, bullying little prick. I'd have wanted to have punched his lights out way before the Beeb man lost his cool, but I got the impression that's what he wanted him to do. Played into his hands really.
  15. :))LOL. Brilliant. I like your style Jackangel.
  16. That's great news Tillie. I've been a regular in the Dog for over 30 years and I can honestly say that the present management team of Duncan and Nikki are the best they've ever had in my experience. So, if the same company is taking over the Plough and they can get the management and the refurb right then it's good news all round for everybody.(tu)
  17. LOL:)) Or This Ole House. Nice one Steph, that'll be you scouse humour at work there.
  18. One thing wrong with Rufus though and you've got to admit it, the man just cannot sing. He's soooooooo flat.
  19. Sussed it out. Couldn't pronounce that one either.
  20. I can't even remember what it was. Who is this Michael Unpronouncable anyway? Am confused.
  21. That well known typing error.
  22. I don't know you either but congratulations to you. I hope you'll both be very happy together forever.(tu)
  23. I only really liked Ian McEwan's early stuff, pretty much gave up on him after A Child In Time which bored the pants off me. Amsterdam was OK though.
  24. Sorry, yeah, I meant The Constant Gardener. Never seen the film though.
  25. Having not read John Le Carre before I rather enjoyed the Secret Gardener which I read recently. Not normally the sort of thing that I go for but it was worth it. I have to say that I envy anyone who's reading Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird for the first time. A wonderful book. If you enjoyed that then try anything by Carson McCullers, another great writer from the Deep South, a good start would be The Ballad Of The Sad Cafe or The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter, which is a personal favourite.
