  1. I'm a wasted talent and a talented waster.
  2. I simply must see that Mockney. I love anything by Ken Loach.
  3. You lucky smug "working from home" bastards!!! I've only just started work today, stuck in my eyrie high up in Canary bloody Wharf, and I won't be finished until 8 facking pm!!! Bah! to you all. It's just not cricket.(6)
  4. Although it's probably 20 years since I read it, have you tried George Orwell's Homage To Catalonia Mockney?
  5. Tillie, I can't see what you're so worried about. You're a fine looking woman, don't worry yourself about superficialities.
  6. Good job I wasn't there then. I could make a plastic surgeon a rich man.
  7. Is anyone here a re-reader? Are there any books you've enjoyed so much that you've returned to them again and again? Or do you feel life is too short as there are so many other books out there to be enjoyed? I can only think of a dozen or so books I've read more than once and they are...off the top of my head: - Saturday Night And Sunday Morning - Alan Silitoe Billy Liar - Keith Waterhouse A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess The Master And Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov Crime And Punishment - Fyodor Dostoyevsky The Strange Life Of Ivan Osokin - P D Ouspensky The Scarlet And Black - Stendhal The Beautiful And The Damned - F Scott Fitzgerald Down And Out In Paris And London - George Orwell Animal Farm - George Orwell Lord Of The Flies - William Golding Keith Richards, The Unauthorised Biograghy - Victor Bockris I'm sure there's a few more but can't think of them at the moment. Anyway, anyone else a re-reader?
  8. Bloody cowards!
  9. No it isn't. It's crap.
  10. Dear Catgirl, I nearly died of boredom reading Child In Time.
  11. Wishful thinking Domitianus?
  12. Must be the only restaurant on Lordship Lane that I haven't eaten in. I can't say I'm a great lover of Mexican food, so it just hasn't appealed to me. My sister and brother-in-law went in there last week though and said it was pretty good, especially the Margaritas but that ain't saying much.
  13. Too close the Harvester 400 yards up the road and please God, that's gotta go too.

    wtf?

So, do feel free to lounge with the rest of us lizards.
  15. What's the D.U.C?
  16. Count Basie Orchestra on triangle.
  17. Doesn't bother me. I'll bash away at anything.
  18. I can't see anything pretentious in it at all Keef. Call me old fashioned but I don't think people jam enough these days, it's just a bit of fun, nothing serious, you don't have to be some egocentric muso showing off your licks to enjoy a jam.
  19. What's wrong with jamming for God's sake? ...if it's good enough for Bob Marley it's good enough for me.

    a joke

I lost my dog, so I put an ad in the local paper saying: "Here boy!"
  21. Hey! Huguenot, finally clicked onto that MB thingy. I couldn't sit through it without feeling terribly nauseous. Urgh!
  22. I watched that last night. Bloody scary. The Scientologist main man was a really arrogant, obnoxious, intimitating, bullying little prick. I'd have wanted to have punched his lights out way before the Beeb man lost his cool, but I got the impression that's what he wanted him to do. Played into his hands really.
  23. :))LOL. Brilliant. I like your style Jackangel.
  24. That's great news Tillie. I've been a regular in the Dog for over 30 years and I can honestly say that the present management team of Duncan and Nikki are the best they've ever had in my experience. So, if the same company is taking over the Plough and they can get the management and the refurb right then it's good news all round for everybody.(tu)
  25. LOL:)) Or This Ole House. Nice one Steph, that'll be you scouse humour at work there.
