  1. Found a black brogue-style lace up shoe in the road this morning. Probably fallen out of bag on journey to school. I have left it on the fence outside No 67 if you want to retrieve it.
  2. Whisky and Wine - Matt Costa
  3. Had the same problem. Slid down to bottom and just came to a stop as a family with little ones with sledge were strolling across the road. Phew! Funny how people are much more relaxed about crossing when there is snow on the ground. Cars are going much more slowly but are less in control.

I was referring to his posts as BBW. Haven't seen most of the posts this time around.
  5. I can understand Admin's position on this and can understand why his more offensive posts (which I didn't see) would lead to him being banned but generally I find him amusing and think he makes a good contribution to the forum. Could he not be moderated by his forum supporters who could keep him in check and advise him when to tone it down on the occasions when it is needed and he doesn't seem to realise it? Obviously would depend on his mates agreeing to take some responsibility for moderating him and upon him agreeing to be censored when necessary. The fact that he keeps trying to sneak back in proves how much he wants to be part of the forum and the very lengthy thread discussing how much he is missed shows how many supporters he has. Just an idea.
  6. OK at 6pm No queues at checkouts

Local people were consulted. I remember completing a survey regarding all the planned works for the area, ie speed bumps, additional crossings, and the changes of the layout at both junctions on Calton Avenue. Think there were changes planned to perhaps 10 or more different locations but some were just agreeing (or not) to speed bumps on various roads. Following this there was a consultation meeting. Can't remember the details though.
  9. That's a good point, Minder. I was planning to take my two little kittens and did wonder how it would work out.
  10. I seem to remember there were plans to change the layout of this junction a while ago when the plans for the Townley/Calton junction and the speed bumps around the Village and Gallery Avenue were also being considered. A questionnaire was sent out to local residents asking for their views followed by a consultation meeting. There were plans to narrow the road to make crossing safer and to broaden the pavement area along the parade of shops from Au Ciel to the bookshop. Does anyone else remember this?
  11. You guys are funny!

  14. Me too. Need to buy a phone each for twins so need something similar but also different in the budget price range. LG Cookie meets criteria but some reviews are not that good. Can anyone recommend a similar phone also.
  15. The Prius Brigade regularly check the one at the top of my road. Watch out first thing in the morning if you have parked next to one overnight because they do an early patrol.
  16. Agree about the nitty gritty comb. It really is good. I never use any headlice treatments - just conditioner combing every 3/4 days for 3 consecutive sessions always seems to do the trick and both my daughters have long hair. Need to comb the hair thoroughly with the conditioner and a wider tooth comb first to get tangles out because the nitty gritty comb can get stuck otherwise and grips so hard it is uncomfortable to remove. ?10 seems a lot but the teeth are really strong and never break or bend so there is no worry about gaps forming that let the lice tbrough. As long as you get the big ones each time, and comb again 3/4 days later, you will catch the growing ones before they lay more eggs which breaks the cycle. Also removes the little white nits.
  17. Hi ????'s Mrs We discussed this a little while ago. Hope this link to the thread works. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,349765,350042#msg-350042

  19. Conditioner combing works really well but you do need to repeat after 3/4 days (3 combing sessions in all) to be completely rid of them. This ensures you catch any little ones that may have slipped through. I believe the lice lay eggs when they are 12 days old so you need to catch them before then. After that (as jollyrogers said) it is wise to check hair regularly from thereon to prevent re-infestation. I have also used tea-tree oil in the past but it is very strong and do worry about the affect it has on the little ones. The smell is quite overpowering too.
  20. We changed the spelling of my son's name within first 12 months. The full (long) certificate shows the original spelling with the new spelling in the "Given Name" section at the bottom of the certificate but the short certificate only shows the revised spelling on the certiticate.
  21. Excellent. My girls will be delighted. Thanks for the update.
  22. Thanks Pandora. Might take the plunge but would need to get a lot more practice cycling without wobbling before I hit the roads. Overcoming the embarrassment of walking the bike to the park for practice would be the first challenge. Perhaps a beginners' cycling course might be the way to go but I guess I would still need to bring my own bike? Anyone have any recommendations for courses? Thanks for the feedback about FitFlops guys. Won't waste my money although having a pair of flip flops that are as comfortable as slippers is appealing. Edited to say: Before I get slaughtered by the grammar police is it "practice" or "practise"
  23. I do swim and go to the gym from time to time and would love to get a bike but am not a confident rider. As I walk a fair bit I thought wearing FitFlops might be a good top up exercise. Anyone else overcome the dilemma of being an almost beginner cyclist on London roads?
  24. They claim to give your legs and bum a work out as you walk. Does sound it bit far fetched, doesn't it? Anyone got a pair and can speak from experience? Your Dad's joke book would be good value by the sound of it, BBW.
