I can. I rarely look at policies from a personal point of view. I consider myself to be in the fortunate position (white, middle class, full time employment- around average City of London salary) whereby it doesn't matter who's in charge, my personal well-being is unlikely to be significantly affected. I've resigned myself to the fact that i'm unlikely to own a property on my own in London, but am comfortable renting. Therefore, i feel the right thing to do is consider those worse off than me when considering who to vote for.

It's not so much the funding, but what's done with the funding. This is anecdotal from two NHS docs (one a renal specialist, one an anesthetist (sp?)) that I was on a walking weekend with a few weeks ago. The amount of bureaucracy within the NHS is costing millions and the external contracts (maintenance, office equipment, security etc) are an horrendous waste of money. For example, a window on a ward needs fixing. Only one company can do it, and that company charges way more than ten other companies. Same with a new printer. The funding the NHS is getting is being badly wasted. So, perhaps a bit of an overhaul is required with some serious streamlining in areas other than essential services and staff. I know very little about the realities, but this is what the doctors reckoned.
  3. Even Nicola Sturgeon's reluctantly on board Nicola Sturgeon ‏@NicolaSturgeon 2h2 hours ago More Not his biggest fan, but there's a quality of analysis & argument in Blair's speech today that has been totally lacking from Labour to date

  5. As despicable as he is, he has a valid point. "Speaking in the City of London, the former prime minister claimed that people voted in the referendum "without knowledge of the true terms of Brexit"."
  6. Not a dig at this new place; more at London restaurants in general, but they really have packed the tables in. Obviously got to maximise revenue where rents are high, but for this reason eating out is becoming a less and less pleasant experience.

Pochettino has ruled himself out a couple of times in recent weeks. The first time citing his affiliation with Espanyol. "But the 44-year-old has insisted he wouldn?t join Barcelona due to his links with Espanyol, claiming he was ?born with a bull in his arm? ? a reference to his history with their bitter rivals." http://metro.co.uk/2017/01/10/tottenham-hotspur-boss-mauricio-pochettino-laughs-off-barcelona-links-6372523/
  8. It'll be interesting to see if they can prise Simeone away from Atletico or Tuchel from BVB.
  9. Luis Enrique Hopefully
  10. 6 matches unbeaten before West Ham, 8 matches unbeaten after West Ham.
  11. Wow! That's as French as French can be. And reasonably priced too. I look forward to trying it.

  13. Third in the league

There are now three directly into the heart of the City. 78 from nunhead/peckham rye and the 40 and 42 from ED. The 12 and 176 into the heart of the West End. The 185 to Victoria. And anyway, a report today shows that tube commuting exposes you to 8x the amount of pollution compared to driving (and I assume riding on a bus too).

Thankfully all the big away games are out of the way now. Our highest placed away game left is West Ham. Something to be addressed in the summer.
  17. Cheaper prices?
  18. I'm still trying to work out why VAT was brought up in the first place.
  19. Does anyone else find it mildly irritating when restaurants put up a website without a menu? Surely they must know that the first thing people want to see when they look at a restaurant's website for the first time is the blinking menu. It seems to be a common thing too.
  20. Have I missed obvious updates? Is it still going ahead? Thanks
  21. I lament the sad demise of the Worcester Sauce crisp. Very occasionally you'll see a lonely Walkers Worcester Sauce on a rack, or even more rarely these days a French Fries Worcester Sauce (they stopped putting them in their multi pack) but that's it. Also, the biggest crisp crime in this country is the lack of Paprika flavoured crisps. On the continent they're everywhere. I can't help feeling that UK crisp manufacturers are missing a trick here.

I can't think of anything less romantic than making an extra effort to show your love for someone on the same day as everyone else. And having to pay more for the privilege.

What were the circumstances? Were they at known hotspots? Driver error? Cyclist error? Thanks
