  1. We've heard great things about featherdown farms from friends who have been and were going to book the farm on the Gower Peninsula at Easter, but I found out I have to work then so we can't go. We chose it particularly due to the proximity to the beach as husband is a surfer. The farm says it has views looking over Rhossili beach which is beautiful and the whole area is stunning. Its a new farm and seems a bit cheaper than some of the others but still the same beautiful tents and run by people who seem keen to make your stay there a good one...
  2. Not sure about rentals, but there are rooms at The Victoria Inn on Bellenden Road or Church St Hotel in Camberwell
  3. did you get any? I went last night and at the last minute 2 people in our party were unable to come. I sold them immediately on the door as there were people milling around hoping to get in. Just thought it was worth mentioning - might be worth just turning up on Saturday to see if there are any spares. are you on twitter? the play/company is and if you tweet them they may be accommodating for your friend
  4. Thanks for the advice. We've never had dry nappies in the morning, and most nights now since stopping nappies we've had wet beds. Not worth the disturbed sleep for either her or us. Will just let it happen when it happens now...
  5. thanks for the advice. The first night we just went cold turkey and she wet the bed. Twice. Last night I tried the no-milk before bed and "putting her on the toilet asleep when I go to bed" thing and she pee'd then and was dry in the morning, so i'm off to try that again tonight. Fingers crossed...
  6. She's been in pull ups since we started potty training last year, so do you think we shouldn't push it until dry in the morning? She definitely isn't dry in the morning but does have fluids with dinner and milk before bed. Oops...
  7. We've been a little lazy with getting rid of night time nappies. We stopped day time nappies last May, just after my daughter turned 2. Other than a horrid first week of excruciatingly claustrophobic days stuck at home, it was relatively painless. Since then we've come up with a number of excuses to avoid tackling night time (starting new nursery, moving house, multiple plane trips) but decided to go for it now. Any tips on how to manage greatly appreciated thank you...
  8. I don't know about Herne HIll, but The Villa has recently slashed their waiting list by doubling the intake. They bought the house next door and renovated it, so when it opened at the end of last summer they were able to double the size of the nursery. We were on the waiting list from when my daughter was 6 months old and she only just got a place last June when she was 2 and 2 months, however I know a couple of people who applied for a place at the end of last year, after the new building opened, for their already 2 year olds and those kids started almost immediately. Therefore if you've been on a waiting list for ages the chances of you getting a place there are more than likely! Its a lovely nursery and my daughter has been extremely happy there since day 1. PM if you have any further questions x
  9. totally no etiquette - the whole point is that you can try and watch a film with baby without thinking twice about your baby crying/pooing/cooing etc, because everyone else there is doing the same. You might not take in the whole film but at least you'll feel like you're out the house doing something adult! enjoy x

  18. This thread just made me choke. I've never heard of Brazilian Blowdry and assumed it meant an extra feature of the well-known "brazilian"! The first couple of comments about achieving straight hair for long periods of time left me slightly bemused, then it clicked. I can't stop laughing. At Myself. Oh well. You learn something new...
  19. There is a proper old-school Halloween party in Brunswick Park in Camberwell: apple bobbing etc. This Sunday 3-5pm. Anyone welcome. Its free. Fancy dress for kids..
  20. Have been going since January and have to say through maternity leave it was the highlight of my week. It used to only be Friday mornings but is now also Wednesdays. I'm not sure its Tuesdays yet but I could be wrong. I'm now back at work and have Wednesdays and Fridays off so ignoring anything to do with the other days. Its lovely, sometimes extremely quiet, sometimes hectic but always worth it. There is space on the floor with those rubber number/letter mats for babies to roll around on with a few toys, and there are some books for older kiddies. I have a 10 month old and a 2 and a half year old and have always managed to last at least an hour. but doors aren't always shut as people come and go so if you have a kid that likes to bolt, you may have to be on guard. There is a table laden with croissants and another with homemade crumpets and lots of spreads. The idea is you help yourself and pay at the end. There is endless coffee/tea/babychino's. The best bit is the lovely owners staff. you should come!!!! Its a great morning that feels more adult than most of the toddler/babies groups i've been to, so was always going to be a hit!
