Excellent, thank you. I'm only on maternity leave until August but very happy to help out when needed until then x

Well done Pickle! The pedometer sounds good - i got to get me one of those. And mima08 I reckon cheating is definitely necessary sometimes if only to give yourself a psychological boost for a week! Our bathroom scales were cheapo ones from local pound shop and if I weigh myself 3 times in a row the weight can vary up to half a stone difference, so now i weigh myself 3 times each week and take the average unless thats too depressing in which case i opt for the lightest!!!!

This is a great playgroup which I look forward to each week but the last couple of weeks there has been no-one there to open up/set up. This week there were only 2 of us, so felt very empty & sad, & we had to search about for key/toys etc. It's an invaluable local resource which I know is run by volunteers. I didnt stay around to speak to the vicar on Tuesday as he was busy & my daughter needed feeding/sleep, but I would be happy to help out with opening up/setting up if this helps keep it going. Does anyone know who runs it?

Crystal7 weight watchers is great especially if you have an iPhone! And there seem to be a lot of people in Dulwich with new-ish babies who have started it. Terra definitely a number of Mums in the EDF Autumn babies club doing it which makes lunches at The Actress easier to conquer! I also get 40 points a day which allows me to snack if I feel like it - obviously the last 3 weeks have been a bit unsuccessful but i'm back on track, and although it's pretty slow over nearly 3 months it all adds up to a lot so I feel good about the weight loss so far...!

Mothers Day was a total disaster but just weighed and have lost 1lb so that feels good. It's a new week now so feeling motivated again...!

Thank you hellosailor. Don't get me wrong I am pleased with it, especially as i'd hit my half way point, but I still feel frumpy and after losing small amounts each week I feel very frustrated to have lost the will but not the weight for a few weeks now. Pickle, your advice to get a magazine was great - I read the April Issue last night - very motivating - it also has advice about drinking water when you feel snacky, the idea being that our brain is unable to differentiate between thirst and hunger - tried this today and it really REALLY worked - drank 500ml water instead of having 4 ginger nuts (that takes a lot!!) with my cup of tea and didnt succumb - i'm sure the distraction also helped. I'll try and keep up the good work over the weekend - I weigh myself on monday mornings so will have to wait until then, but I do like the idea of posting weight on here - another motivating factor. If that fails will aim for the meeting - have been avoiding it as I have a 4 month old and a 23 month old, but will brave it with them if necessary. Hopefully I'll be a loser again soon!...

Snappy Snaps on Rye Lane also very good and very friendly -
Can anyone offer some motivation for weight loss??!!! Have been doing weight watchers since Xmas and have lost 19lbs - hooray but for the last 3 weeks have plateaued and can't seem to summon the will power to stick to my daily points - have used all extra weeks pouts and been -5ish each week. Boooo. What to do?

Sad to have missed it - hope to meet you all next time x

Hey Amy, husband is a kiwi - let me know if you find out about the 3 months thing, as if not too young, we'd definitely be up for going along too. Lucy

Does anyone know what the waiting list is like here? -
Does anyone know if this is still going - i.e. is it on today?, Thanks

More support for WW online here especially with iphone app - very very easy to use - and i still get to have a couple of ginger nuts with each cup of tea!!! I've tried many different diets over the years but WW for me is by far the easiest to follow and easiest to stick to. After pregnancies and 2 years of tea/cake mornings i was 15kg heavier and now determined to shift it all. Have been going 4 weeks with 2 of those involving no dieting at xmas, but have lost 10lbs....

Anyone experience vomiting pre-labour?
Grotty replied to Grotty's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you for all your comments/tips. Just thought i'd update you - the "braxton hicks" got to every 5 mins - i went into kings and they confirmed i had a bug and it was irritating the uterus, so after a couple of hours of thinking this was it we felt a little frustrated. IV drip overnight stopped everything in its track. However, here we are on Thursday, back at home with a lovely little girl, so regardless of the bug it was time. Hooray xxx -
Hey, i'm 39 weeks today (although by dates 39 + 5) with no.2 - woke up feeling nauseous and have vomited since, also had diarrhoea (sorry for that). Braxton Hicks have become slightly stronger and more frequent over last 2 days. Have rung Kings and they say i just have to wait it out - could be tummy bug, could be that labour will soon start. Just sitting here waiting now, so thought i'd see if anyone had any personal experiences to share to keep me distracted/entertained....
-
our experience was that for the 4 or so months of winter, we all were perpetually ill due to nursery bugs - annoying but true, sorry...

I use this: http://www.johnlewis.com/230468206/Product.aspx very compact waterproof changing mat with enough pockets to house nappies/wet wipes/nappy bags for a day. Easy to pick up and whizz to loo's whilst out and about without having to lug a big bag everywhere. I just used canvas shopping bags for change of clothes which stayed under the buggy (keeping dry)
