Denmark has shut schools etc and as well as the above re: Ireland- they have banned OUTDOOR gatherings of 500 or more..St Patrick's day is only next Tuesday I personally am beginning to feel like there are sniper rifles at every turn- probably due to the stupid 24/7 media coverage

It's also under the Theft Act According to the Theft Act of 1968 it is illegal to? Pick cultivated flowers in public parks or gardens as well as plants and flowers growing on land which is maintained by the council (for example roundabouts and grass verges). Why do some people feel the need to OWN everything? -

Under the 1981 Wildlife and Countryside Act, it's illegal in the UK to: pick flowers in public parks or community gardens, pick flowers on National Trust property or nature reserves. The green is a community garden. -
You can get anti-slip products for coating yacht and boat decking- surely there must be something for tiles

We have had several junk mail leaflets through the door and a political paper- I hope this is not another route that the virus could take into our homes!

The baked beans were almost gone at 4.30 this afternoon- hence the need for more loo rolls!

Here is a list of the nasties. https://www.healthline.com/health/zoonosis What 'bugs' me (pun intended) is that the 'elderly' are being told to stay indoors....this of course gives the false impression that the 'young' can go about their business as usual. I wonder if these super-spreaders are the people who cough and splutter and wipe their snotty hands everywhere. My OH came back from Clapton, (by public transport), last night having been to a 'gathering' from all over London. He came in and I said ' can you wash your hands please'. 'What for?' came the reply..we truly are doomed

This is from their website...'WHO works worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable'- not fit for purpose in my opinion. The asian wet markets are where the coronavirus started and SARS before that...we have hygiene inspectors looking at our food premises and we are told not to put raw meat and cooked food next to each other etc etc....BUT the wet markets flout ALL the rules and the WHO does nothing- 'keep the world safe' in your dreams!

I feel sorry for the people who live on benefits week to week and cannot afford to bulk buy anything.

I bet Kings College Hospital didn't envisage this when they became a major trauma centre!

If Local Democracy is not being upheld should we not approach the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government- Robert Jenrick MP?

I've shopped there every week since it opened....it has not gone downhill. I have noticed that as soon as something is on offer the locusts descend and its gone. Add to that the panic buying and there will be gaps on shelves. There cannot be an endless stream of shelf fillers and produce so personally I would blame the customers

Dandelion flowers are the first food for the emerging starving bees in the spring so it is a good idea to let them grow

wulfhound said 'Thatcherite mentality basically - I've earned it, I've paid for it, screw the lot of you.' No it isn't- the attitude to the car has been around for more decades than Mrs T- it's a toy to young men, and a 'chick magnet'- (I knew a woman back in the 1970s who said she would never go out with a bloke who didn't have a car) - and it is freedom for women- transporting shopping, kids, THEN getting to work on time. The mental attitude is obvious.

There could be an explanation- the Cavendish laboratory is on that site and they used to use a lot of mercury for their experiments. The mercury beads used to fall through the floorboards and vapourise....so when the labs were turned into offices the staff got mercury poisoning...mad as a hatter!
