mockney piers Wrote: This should be about whether society finds talk of race uncomfortable, nit whether race based dat should be suppressed. Thats the whole point MP. This thread IS about "suppression of the truth" by way of "gagging orders" it is NOT about whether society finds talk of race uncomfortable.

SeanMacGabhann Wrote: Can't believe people are engaging with TLS on this one - how many times have we been down this road There is no further need on this thread to mention the "Race" aspect with regards to the decision by The Metropolitan Police to no longer disclose London Crime figures. The poweres-that-be have decided that these figures harm "Community Relations" and I, and others, will have to accept that their decision is for the greater good. End Of Sean.

Jeremy Wrote: TLS - as Hugo said, you've made a good case for NOT disclosing such statistics. You have previously complained at the lack of integration between ethnic groups within the community. And now you are saying that you would like to see crime figures broken down by race, to help people choose which area to live in. Fair point on the surface Jeremy. Ideally we could all live together in some degree of mutual harmony, and, indeed, I'm glad to say in many parts of London, for example, that DOES and IS happening. This thread is about "gagging orders" though and I believe that the truth "shall out" and in the interim, until whatever measures are used to solve the problem of reducing, still further, street crime, then everyone must do what they consider best for their own Families. It would be great if figures could be genuinely produced to show no real trends and then there would be no reason to use those figures in any way. It DOES irk that the Authorities take decisions by use of "gagging orders" to suppress the truth though. That can't be right, i.m.o. Surely the more publicised any situation is, the more those empowered to, can do something positive about helping the situation so that there is no "suspicion" any more.

Huguenot Wrote: Ah, so you intend to use it for ethnic cleansing? Great idea. As I said, gagging doesn't require me to put a better case than the one you've made here. *shaky head smiley* Not that at all H. If all crime figures show "The Huguenots" are responsible for certain crimes that affect my Family, out of all proportion to the number of "Huguenots" in our midst, then, obviously, few will want to live in an area comprised, primarily, of "Huguenots". Just common sense surely. If one then establishes that Papua New Guineans or Chinese or Norwegians living in The UK commit, virtually, no crime then it makes perfect sense to have as many "Papua New Guineans" or "Chinese" OR "Norwegians" in our Neighbourhoods, I would have thought. Anyone we will beg to differ as I'm off to the Norwegian/Papua New Guinean Quarter of Soho to look for a place.:)

A further thought. If someone dies and is owed a significant amount of money by a friend, is that debt erased or does the money go to the deceased's Estate if it is the deceased who is owed the money Guys? If a Legal Document is drawn up stating "A over B" a certain sum, does that debt get erased if the person who is owed the money die first?

Huguenot Wrote: Sure a great example.I think the people most pressing for the disclosure of crime figures on a racial basis have absolutely no intention of solving the problem do they? You, for example TLS, have no intention of using these figures to solve crime issues, because you don't have it within your ability to do so. What you do have the ability to do is manipulate the data to peddle race hatred, which I'm sure is not your intent. So what do you want it for TLS? Its because one can use accurate figures, based over a long period of time, to make decisions H. For example, if "Albanovianakians" lol are found to commit 85% of street crime or paedophilic crimes throughout a large region and I know from figures provided by a very reliable series of sources that these figures are accurate, then I have it within my ability to give my Family the best possible chance of not being a "victim" by living in an area that has few, if any, "Albanovianakians"... Also more resources or anything thing else that is deemed useful, could be channelled into the right areas ( literally) . Just because certain figures make many uncomfortable as they might portray certain Groups in a very bad light, should not be sufficient reason for their deliberate disclosure.

Huguenot Wrote: The question was about gagging of society, and your response is: 'Yes I've been gagged because I can't have a go at people on a race basis for crime'. The gagging aspect is that we are not allowed to see the figures which have been compiled. Why are those figures deliberately being concealed these days as it will surely be in the "public interest" for them to be published would they not H ? Or do you agree that if a sector of society is proven to have been the main perpetrators of strret crime beyond any possible degree of "randomness" that these "results" should not be shown to the general public, even in the areas relevant to the crime figures? That is a gagging order in that it suppresses the truth. Indeed it would end all thereotical presumptions or assumptions or miscalculations as to who are the main pepetrators and victims of a particular crime by providing true and accurate crime figures! This could then be extended to all crime whether it be paedophilia, "white-collar" crime etc. Surely it is best for the true figures to be widely shown as then some progress could be made to rectify or resolve the situation which is, surely, what everyone would want.

Radio Caroline. Haven't tuned in for a while though, admittedly...

Huguenot Wrote: Well, blow me away, TLS tries to get ethnicity of criminals into the debate shocker. Mate, you just didn't need that middle sentence. Your post was interesting, engaging (even likeable) until you tried to make it about race. Thats because H. the reason given for rhe cessation of publication of said crime figures was in the "interest of Community Relations". So, i.m.o., it is relevant to my general point.

There IS, obviously, the equivalent of a "gagging order" on certain organisations. The Metropolitan Police, for example, used to be able to publish the full details of all street offences ( muggings, basically) in all 33 London Boroughs up to around 5 years ago. Descriptions were given by the victim(s)in each case, as far as possible, as to the perpetrator(s), but now not only are these figures not published, but no access can be gained to the figures for the 1990's etc, as far as I can ascertain. These figures were broken down as far as the ethnicity of each perpetrator and, also, each victim. The figures for each recent year must be recorded within the Met. but they are no longer be available for public scrutiny.

Steve T. did not say that Females tolerate that kind of behaviour or are more likely to not say anything. He did say that the Guy "would have ignored me" if I had been Female or frail. He was implying, surely, that a Female WOULD have said something ( otherwise why would the Guy have decided, in his hypothetical scenario, on a course of INaction i.e to ignore Females or the frail. He was not talking about the responses of females but the fact that the guy would have ignored them, sadly ( i.h.o) -
Absolutely ghastly, unless you are Jack Tar.

I found the clown who frequently appeared in the Ashes To Ashes Series most displeasing and unseemly.
