After reading your post immaterial, I can only wish all your Comrades and brothers and sisters in the recently reviewed divisions and elsewhere in your organisation, the best of luck in your continuing struggle. It can't be easy being at the sharp end.

Santerme Wrote: There are 100,000 freshwater lakes just in Manitoba. It is a 16 hour drive from Winnipeg to Churchill (where the Polar Bears are)which is pretty much South to North Just Manitoba is five times the size of the UK. I always think I have made it when I cross the Newfoundland coast, but Winnipeg is another two and a bit hours flying time. It is a great city, a time bubble of England in the 60's. It also has an enormous temperature range, from plus 40 in some summers to minus 45 and colder with wind chill. I have changed a tyre (tire) in minus 38, not much fun. The people are almost too friendly, but the city has some of the best restaurants in North America. It is also 90 minutes from the North Dakota border or you can fly to Minnesota in 55 minutes. Or be in Rockies around Calgary in about the same timeframe. I am not a great fan of the East coast, but the West is stunning... I thoroughly enjoyed Vancouver ( and the Island) in British Columbia but was sad, when in 1979, I met an old cockney rom Herne Hill called Charlie sitting forlorn on a park bench. He had emigrated and seemed lost away from his London Town. I would love to tour and visit Canada again. I had a great 6/7 weeks travelling from LA thru' Oregon/Washington to Canada and across to Niagara and down thru' The Eastern New England States to New York, and yet even at the age of only 25 I had a real lump in my throat on returning to "my" England and London at The Elephant and Castle on my return. I probably shed tears to be back and yet I enjoyed every minute. That was 30 years ago and now I have been so immersed in England/Britain and our way of life that I know I would get homesick if I ever Emigrated ( after the initial "honeymoon" period, of course). So it will always be England, for me.(tu)

Santerme Wrote: I am already nicely set up in the West Country. Ontario is nice TLS, we have a home in Winnipeg and a cottage on the lake just outside the city. My wife is a lawyer in Canada. He will definitely buy one place but may, possibly, if finances stretch, get 2 with a view to renting one or both out throughout the year. Apparently you can drink out of parts of Lake Ontario and it is bigger thn The UK.... Do these statements ring true Santerme?

Either Whitstable or more likely The Cotswolds/Mendips-West Country, daizie. My best M8 is buying a place (2 ? ) in Niagara-On-The-Lakes, Ontario at the moment but such is his disillusionment with the deterioration of our standards of behaviour that he may emigrate full time, so I wish I had his money to invest there, as well.

Honour amongst thieves.

Huguenot Wrote: You seem to be expressing a desire to punish all people of certain skin colours for the actions of some of them. For that I think you should be both gagged and imprisoned. Sometimes I have to admire your superb "technique" H. You seem to be expressing a desire to make ludicrous assumptions that I want to "punish all people etc " and then want to imprison and gag me for something I don't want to do! Excellent. I DO want to move to an area which gives me and my loved ones the best possible chance of avoiding being a victim of crime and that I have succeeded in doing over the last 26 years since moving from Walworth in 1983. There were 6 murders alone in Walworth in a few months last summer ( 3 in one week) and that included Stephen Bigby, who was one of The "Acid" Gang who raped a Girl who had severe educational difficulties, and then poured Acid all over her body to remove any "DNA". If that type of crime DOES happen in my area I'll let you know M8. Sorry for veering "off-topic" by replying so its over to "gagging orders"...

Good question Mark. Its the only relevance to "gagging" that should appertain to this thread. I, for one, have no desire to get involved in any kind of "Race" dialogue as it is pointless without all relevant criteria and I have to respect the sensibilities of all the contributors to EDF who have no desire to acknowledge or show any real interest in this Subject as their level of discomfiture is overpowering. To paraphase taper : "I'm not sure, further in-depth exploration will give you the results you thought you'd like to get " so best left alone and not discussed one feels.

taper Wrote: TLS Bare statistics of the kind you mention might leave people with certain limitations to draw erroneous conclusions. See here for a serious piece of research by the home office which gives you as much information as a brain can take: http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/pdfs05/rdsolr3305.pdf Not sure it gives you the results you thought you'd get. But I hope it helps. Not in the slightest interested taper as your credilbility in supplying "official" Stats and figures is Zero, I'm afraid. I would only listen and take notice of someone who keeps an open mind and takes a neutral stance. We all know that "figures/stats" will only be supplied if they appear to support a certain viwpoint and they will conspicuous by their absence or there will be a deafening silence if the "official" figures show otherwise so there is no point bothering. Maybe the former head of The Metropolitan Poice-Sir Paul Condon was totally wrong when he said a particular Ethnic Group were responsible for street crime out of all proportion to their numbers. You would have thought that as he was the Head of The Met. at the time he would be in the perfect position to know the true facts....and they gave him a Knighthood.... taper: As this thread is about "gagging orders" please show me the figures for The London Area for the last 5/6 years to proove they have been available to the general Public. I trust you won't find "certain limitations" in your quest and try to avoid the sly, personal digs and stick to the facts for those years for London or aren't they available?

Football season has been disastrous, thus far, though I have not lost a penny. Tuned in to Fulham/Vesta (sp) t'other night at 1/0 with 12 mins left and went to back over 2.5 Goals at, I assume, 7/1+ and Fulham scored as I was accessing my Betfair a/c. Then they scored again. Then heard on Sat. Morning mention of Boro/Sheff Utd and thought "Bore Draw" and b4 I could think about backing "Draw/Draw" and 0/0-I discovered it was. Out yesterday morning so was going to do Draw/Southampton and Draw/Draw in the Saints/Millwall match. Not only did it come in but you could lay Saints short after backing them at 9/2 ( Draw/Saints). To complete a "Foursome" predicted WBA/Draw and Newcastle/Draw both at 16/1 . So thats a 7/1 followed by 11/1 followed by a 4/1 ( Millwall-Draw/Draw) followed by a 16/1 and not on any of them as I was out.( apart from Fulham/Vesta which I missed by seconds......:X

Will inconvenience The Business Community far more than the residential one. At home I like to receive as little post as possible as "no news is good news". On a wider scale The Tube Drivers do now have plenty to Crow about but would anyone here like to work in their conditions? The heat can be overwhelming and can make a Tube Drivers life extremely uncomfortable. Not for many here, including me, I suspect. Usually striking is the last refuge of a scandalous Union.

Actually I deliberately did not mention that the figures would "harm Community Relations" initially as I knew that it would be obvious what that would imply. There is no point, whatsoever, discussing "race" in relation to crime on here on any thread as the figures can not be extrapolated rendering any current conversation based on conjecture etc. Any further conversation on this thread involving "race" i.r.o. crime will not feature me but it is an unpalatable truth that because of the previous crime figures and what they clearly showed that the current Crime figures are no longer produced so that information has been "gagged" effectively. p.s. When I, earlier, said "End of Sean" I meant end of my contribution on this thread not the premature demise of our esteemed fellow Forumite.:))
