Actually, the "Irish" are NOT my favourite people right at the moment due to 2 of their number over the weekend. First one had a bet with me, at the last possible moment, to Win ?500 and was as drunk as a skunk and I was so empthatic to agree which animal he had backed that I did not have time to "hedge"..it Won.. Unbelievably fast forward 24 hours and same "last minute-last race" scenario where another Irishman who spent half the time being propped up and the other half, physically falling over backed the last Winner to Win ?550 and again I was so keen to establish and agree which animal he backed that, once again, I could not "hedge".... Needless to say that also Won. Back in the White City Greyhound Days from The 1950's onwards The Irish were the majority of the crowd and they "as a Group" are phenomenal Gamblers, absolutely phenonomenalB) I must go to Cheltenham one day, as I'm told, constantly, that its a fabulous experience.

Disgusted with myself for losing, albeit "small" on that West Ham/WBA game last night as I was certain it would be very low-scoring. West Ham's makeshift front 3 can't possibly cut it and I was so angry with going with WBA as they were handed the match ona plate and were so lacking in confidence and frankly, useless that they could not take advantage of a side who could have played all night and not scored. What a contrast to the wondrous West Ham/WBA game I went to with Hursty/Peters/Mooreo and Astle/Bomber Brown for The Albion...6/1 and it could have been 11/3....modern football, eh?

I know, I know....used to see them in Benidorm, Marbela, Ibiza, Arenal and all the rest back in The 1970's/1980's on my Summer Holidays...at least The Irish and Scots can take their drink at Football Matches abroad though. On a semi-serius point, they put The English to shame on their travels and are wanted back everywhere, quite rightly..

Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Or the English frankly. Anyway, happy Guinness Day > everyone. Keef, don't mention the ruddy "Engleeschers"...ruddy hooligans the lot of 'em...I'd put them all on an Island with all The Irish and Scots and Welsh and let them get on with it....

It just "so happens" that 30% of the Irishmen I've met over the last 45 years have been rat-assed at any given moment...but one person's lifelong experiences are not a true guide..I know that. What next? The "Scots" drink excessively compared to The Italians?:X...make that :))

I echo these sentiments but disapproove of the, frankly, ludicrous notion that the "Irish" are more prone to get "pissed" "as a Group" compared to, say, Presbyterian Scots or The Welsh, for example... I mean the mere thought....::o

I have a T-Mobile Phone with the tariff "Free after 7.00PM and at Weekends"...?20 Monthly Rental + Calls outside that period. I, also, have another T-Mobile "Pay-As-You-Go" Phone. Is it possible Guys to add that one onto the existing Tariff for the other one, so that they both share the same Tariff for the ?20 please?

Soundcheck Magazine from January, 2002 states: OK! Steve Smith, the indefatigable front man harmonicist/vocalist and fun filled South London legend, retreated to his Scottish Highlands abode....and mentions taking 15 hours to come back to Londonfor a Gig with his Group=Ruthless Blues. I, also used to see SS with Rod Roche and others at The Half Moon and used to see Nine Below Zero, regularly, at various Venues in The Old Kent Road with Dennis Greaves, from Walworth, as their lead guitarist. Before 9BelowZero he was the Leader of "Stans Blues Band" who played various South London Venues including te lamented "Apples and Pears" Pub in Rotherhithe where he played in the street on an extended lead! Great Days..
