Bendy bus skidded starting journey from Etherow St and has been blocking Barry Rd both ways since 4 pm. Big up for the sole Bus driver who has taken it upon himself to direct traffic at junction of Goodrich . Surface of Barry Rd seems to be mixture of slush and ice. Watched several vans with spinning wheels.

Hmmm...my brother recently had heart attack. While in hospital he and sister in law were questioning staff about his cholesterol level which they thought was low - think 4 . Staff said should aim for it to be lower .Brother asked " how low ? " . Thought the answer " Well it can't be too low ." was a bit odd.

Hi wilderness ,you wouldn't recognise Lordship Lane now . No job centre ,no Woolies ,hanging flower baskets , delis, coffee and tea shops ,Jo Jo Maman Bebe ( or whatever ,but shops for our many young mums ). An estate agent taking up 3 or 4 shop fronts. Chener Books still with us.

Think the risk of miscarriage is very low ,personally I felt that I had to know if my child was to be Downs and was prepared to take this risk. Kings has so much experience in this area and this did give me confidence . I had CVS ( older mother ,high risk ) didn't find it all uncomfortable .

Hi - don't know if this is possible ,but mediation works on the basis of making a contract ,a deal with both sides gaining something. Could you approach them by suggesting that you realise they must hear noise from you and is there anything in particular that they find irritating that you could tone down ? And then obviously move on to the noise they make ..... I know ,they'll probably shrug their shoulders at your opening gambit . Anyway ,horrible for you - try Southwark Mediation.

Are the health visitors who visit actually health visitors ? Sounds stupid I know ,but asking because of similar experiences in East Dulwich with what I thought were District Nurses calling to elderly people . When I checked I found that most were actually - forget exact term - but something like Health Care Assistants. Formal complaints have improved care ,but sadly not much ,even from qualified nurses. Appreciate busy,understaffed etc but something badly amiss. Where do the Health Visitors come from ? Townley Rd ?

Yes ,I do wish we had access to grit so that we could all do our bit of the pavement . Do think that with all the rain ,that preceeded the burst of snow last night ,that it would have been tricky to grit effectively.

My two pennyworth of advice - make sure that your car is registered to your home address. Easy to forget if you've moved. If you fall foul of a traffic camera - enter congestion zone without realising ,cross that no entry sign at top of Rye Lane - you probably won't even realise that you've incurred a fine . You won't get the reminders which will go to your old address and before you know it one of those automatic readers that logs your license plate will trigger a whole load of grief in outstanding fines,baliffs costs ,car removal.

Hi - just to say that I saw a cyclist come a cropper earlier this morning in Adys Rd . He looked professional ,I wonder if this stretch ( from the school down to Oglander ) suffers from black ice . My boyfriend ,with many years of cycling experience ,also fell victim to ice in this same spot a couple of years ago.

I've not got copy of Living South and after a quick scroll through thread can only see that it starts in ? near Rosendale / west Dulwich is it ? at 12 and will come to Townley Rd. Want to bring elderly mum and need to work out where to drop her off ,best vantage point . Sorry if I'm being dense and have missed something.

Ok - just received my parcel posted on 23 Nov. Have also received other items ordered more recently. Post woman said that mail /packets etc that built up due to industrial action were stored all over the place - could be 9 elms ,could be elsewhere. Anyway , ,I'm a happy customer now. Hopefully everyone else will soon receive theirs as well.
