  1. Oh, tricky . Sympathies .I think if the cat was completely drenched it was a bit excessive .
  2. Isn't clay alkaline ? And I was guessing the "not banned here" = " should be banned here because it is elsewhere" ???? Who knows ,the first link I got when googling aluminium sulphate didn't look encouraging ,so use of that could probably also be debated .
  3. I think I've read that wrapping as many of the plants as you can in large plastic bag ,spraying into bag and tyeing up neck of bag is effective . Personally I just keep grubbing them up . Oh yes to the million little bluebell bulbs being 30 thousand feet down .Embedded under a much loved plant that you really don't want to disturb .
  4. Oh yes bluebells ....I'm growing to dislike them .Impossible to retain the delicate English ones and the brutish spanish ones just take over ,growing through the plants you want to retain .
  5. Oh Delianie that's sad - I've sent you a PM . Reg ,yes my money is on the rain . But...breaking news phone call from BT ,problem fixed ! Apparently it was a cable from the green junction cabinet on the corner of Goodrich Rd to the exchange . Speedy service ,thank you BT .
  6. Thank you Delainie .Sorry you're in touch with Udens . I did wonder if it might be the recent rain .Water has caused problems before and although the rainfall has been pretty minimal I wondered if it was "running 0ff" more because the ground is so dry and hard after months with none .
  7. Internet ok . On line check says external fault .
  8. Well I can offer lots of sympathy .It is very invasive . I think it's a question of digging as much of the roots out as possible and then being vigilant and pulling out plants as they sprout . And do your best to get them out before they flower as that adds seeds to the dastardly work of the roots . It's a question of keeping at it . I don't think ( but might be wrong ) that changing the soil's PH will help . Onwards - you'll get there !
  9. Yes ,work with nature - your own as well as the planets .A perfect lawn is v hard work ,some lovely green grass with moss and daisies is more doable . I've had no luck improving drainage for my grass but have found the shady grass seed good . I've also mainly failed at reseeding - squirrels dig it up,it's hard to protect ,and can't be cut for ages .So I'm going to try producing a supply of my own little patches by growing grass in gravel trays .
  10. Little point responding to Seabag rahrahrah. He/she has their own agenda here . It's clear to me ( and I imagine anyone with a morsel of wit ) who is heating the debate here . And it's not you .
  11. Does this really damage the pavement and services underneath ? Do Southwark ever take any action ?
  12. That's so nice of you to go to all that trouble when you must have been looking forward to getting home and relaxing after work . Really kind .

  14. No personal experience of winning an appeal though a neighbour succesfully appealed and succeeded in getting planning permission which had previously been refused . He used Julie Greer at http://www.greerpritchard.com/services.asp for the appeal . Have you looked at appeal cases on Southwark's planning map ? Maybe that would give you some pointers ? http://maps.southwark.gov.uk/connect/southwark.jsp?tooltip=yes
  15. You're right Alice ,not really an occasion for nit picking .
  16. Big Dan and PCM how awful .So sorry to hear about your cat Big Dan ,I'd be devestated . I wonder what's going on/what's wrong with the dog .It doesn't sound like normal behaviour .
  17. Turtle ,sorry .My post was directed at Seabag who seems to think that posting on threads should be limited .Which is news to me . FWIW ,I think your view is totally valid ,not irrelevant .
  18. "And you've posted on two threads about stabbing." gosh ,did I miss the memo about limiting posts ? edited to add quotation marks .
  19. I swear that location - the cafe in Dulwich park - has had an evil spell cast on it in decades ago .
  20. Lynsey - hope you're doing ok .Thank you for explaining the nature of the robbery ,ie non violent . I think that's helpful and honest .
  21. Yeah ,I thought that .Trying to be funny ...? And I would have thought that Hamlet supporters are most likely to use a pub near the ground .
  22. Chick is it early for them to be swarming ? Or were they doing something else ? Absconding is it called ?
  23. Very fuzzy headed today but covenants are one thing ,enforcing them is another
  24. That's truly shocking to read Pugwash .
